After we lost Peep, X, and Juice we basically lost the godfathers of emo rap. But the thing is the emo rap genre has a lot of pain and addiction in it, it is by definition emotional music. And I believe the genre just by its nature be very volatile. But it saved my life tho real shit.

i personally don’t get the kid laroi hate, it’s quite clear he was just more of a singer than a rapper and he was in the rap scene for a bit but over time his ‘rapping’ wasn’t that good so he decided to just go into pop because even if it’s maybe not what he wanted to do that’s what suited his skill set more. As a very small up and coming rapper who feels like the game took a sharp turn when these big 3 died, it's rough out here tryna be on the more lyrical side. This video confirms a lot of thoughts and connects a lot of dots that I really just can't describe man, thank you for real for real. It sucks that I can see why the state of hip hop is what it is right now and I just have to try and bridge lyrical to that instead of something that REALLY meant a lot to me; like emo rap. I feel like I'm gonna be restricted to only doing tribute style projects just because these 3 died and took emo rap with them.

honestly it's a lot like punk, in the mid to late 70s punk music was at its peak, then people went overboard in the 80s (something someone like John Lydon fkn hated) so him and post OG punks moved onto different sounds and thus post punk and all these other sub genres.. it got a similar 5 year run of good emo rap from 2014-2019 then idk like Darby Crash and Sid Vicious, people od'd or self delete themselves etc. Feels like history just repeating sadly..

All their music you felt as well as heard, you felt the emotion, the pain, the anger, the sadness, the realness, the cries for help, their art was crazy and it’s honestly so sad we don’t get to hear more music from these artists as they have now passed because the talent all 3 of them possessed is crazy and they would and probably still will go down as legends to the new wave of teenagers and even the old heads have the respect their music at this point like it or not. Lil Peep captured a culture of kids and young adults that felt like outcasts to the society they were in. The same way Kurt Cobain did in the 90s. If Lil Peep didn't pass away at such a young age, he would have changed the music industry. Post Malone even stated that.

What was really cool about Emo rap it's that it bring much life and energy back to Rock music with had been on decline since like 2014.
