  • I was once very close to buying an original Alpine A110 as my first classic car so when the new Alpine A110 was announced I was very interested to see if the original light weight ethos had transferred to the modern day car...

      @greenzero3389 Před 7 lety +27

      I'm sorry but Schmee is far too wooden and rehearsed. His passion is having a car collection of specials to show off, not to drive and enjoy as that will cause depreciation.

      But maybe bad transmission as well, unfortunately, based on the Clio RS one.
      GIVE US THE THIRD PEDAL ALPINE FFS, they know how to do a great manual, their DCT is bad, yet they still choose the DCT.

    • @tmkongen
      @tmkongen Před 7 lety

      Not sure if the Alpine will have the 6 or 7 speed but Renault has improved the DCT alot. The 7 speed in Megane GT is great but the problem with all DCTs is that they are controlled by software so when you do weird unpredicted stuff the gearbox will often do that aswell.

      Motor trend is good, Evo, Drivetribe, there are quite a lot of channels worth looking for. I am getting super sick of Vlogers lately, but that does not only applies to car vloggers but basically any. Cant really tell the reason but i feel i am a getting old.

      Kind of disappointing is the fact that this car is 300 Kg lighter than the Cayman and yet the power to weight ratio of the Alpine is less than that of the Cayman, the only thing that the A110 needs at the moment is more power. I'd suggest more displacement, bigger and twin-turbos. Should output at least 350 PS, will be great then.

    • @J0J0McM0M0
      @J0J0McM0M0 Před 7 lety

      4.5 sec to 100 is enough, you can chip this thing to 350 fairly easily i would say. what worries me the most is the slightly exaggerated price tag...60k euros for such a car is too much even if its fully aluminium.

    I already own two classic Alpines..... Yes, they have their issues, but thats what owning a classic car is about. You don't just drive an Alpine, you live with it.
    I have let a few of my friends, who have other "common super cars," drive my Alpines, and everyone has fallen in love with them. They all comment upon the ride and handling, Just wait until you hear the reviews of the new one once they start driving it. I know it will amaze.

    You should have bought the classic A110 when you had the pportunity because it's such an incredible car to drive ! But now it'll be harder to choose with the new one :p

    I guess its going to compete with the 4c and maybe the Porsche spyder so its also hard competition. Interior looks great, to me its a sin though not to include a Manuel gear, this is a drivers car to me not a transportation, there are plenty of other vehicles better suited for that. Well if I had the luxury of 2 cars one which will probably cost around 150K€ in the DK I might want to give it a try but again it has to be tested against the competitors to really show if it delivers. Im not totally convinced of the exterior design I think Id rather go for the 4C. But generally looks great and good to have Renault back in the sports segment.

    Personally no I would not buy the Alpine110 just could not justify the price for what is a Renault. Also just want to say excellent vlog and great informative editorial style.

      It is a Renault in the same way as the A310 was. Lightweight body on a warm engine, but with great dynamics and character. Enthusiasts will love it, put up with it’s quirks and call it an Alpine rather than a Renault.

    I loooooove the new Alpine A110. And you don't need 300+ hp to have fun behind the wheel.
