Remember your own deeds before pointing that oh so deadly finger.
The information I gather from this statement is that plenty of people can run away from an unfair fight. Seams to me, however, that we as the American people always adapt and overcome because of the few; Not the many.

I love how I go to Afghanistan and there are civilians in rooms like that, that make all the decisions including the one to send me and my brothers. And then they cower when we are the ones who see first hand what our efforts are. I've made so many Afghani friends and seen so many roads and schools built. I've also seen so many good people and villages prosper after the removal of a few inhumane creatures that somehow were born as humans in this ridiculous world. I've been trying to get back ever since 2011. Afghanistan was the worst and best moments in my life. And I know my brothers who went to Iraq, Kuwait, etc. can say the same thing. Semper Fi.

Sgt USMC 1964-1970 Vietnam 1968 I have been a Marine for over 50 years and have gone through this discussion countless times. You are never an ex-Marine. Instead of a lengthy discussion with non-Marines you inform them quickly and easily you are no longer serving in the Corps. Think of it as being kind to the less fortunate, you know, people who don't have the right to wear the EGA.

My Gentle Pitt Bull, "Marines have never and will never cut and run." That just isn't true. There is no other way to say it. One of the most important missions of the Marines is the evacuation, which is all about going in, getting someone out, and cut and running. The ability to break off and leave a situation is a key task of the Marines.

That's because the Democrats lost control of the house and the senate. The thing I always see is that when the Democrats have control of all 3 houses and they go to work on their agenda, their party is always divided. I mean look how long it took them to pass their wonderful ObamaCare legislation, it took so long because they couldn't unite and agree on what to do. Obama promised it to get passed on the end of his first year, it took them 2 years. They keep crying about gun control, why couldn't they pass gun control? The list goes on about stuff they cry about and they don't get it passed because their party is always divided. However whenever the Republicans have control, they always seem to unite and get things done, and the Democrats are upset because the Republicans took away the House and Senate the Republicans are going forward with their own agenda.

I fought there too over in Iraq and the truth is that the war was stupid as hell and we should've left earlier. That doesn't change that the lot of us stood ready for a proper war and we fought a dumb war with honor instead. The problem is everyone is entangling these two ideas together. You can admit Iraq was a disaster and still know everyone who went to fight it is great. Any sergeant or officer will tell you that a good leader knows when they're wrong and when to leave and that doing that doesn't make you a bad soldier. The problem is we like to pick a side of politics and pretend that side is always right. It's like a sports team except stupider and people die.

John Murtha has no honor - and that comes from real Marines - look it up. He's been denounced by a lot more Marines than endorsed for his heinous politically driven accusations. When he claimed that Marines in Iraq were guilty of "murder in cold blood" he did them and the Corps a tremendous disservice when they were, in fact, simply doing their duty as was later proven. And yes I earned the right to sound off on American military matters after having sailed the Arctic Ocean in the early 70's aboard an FBM submarine bristling with nuclear weapons - that was during the Cold War. We fought a tough fight that few will ever know about and won in the end and we had our differences - but to a man, sub sailors share a bond that is unbreakable. Few have seen and been where we have and I always thought the same of Marines - until Murtha that is.

Sen. John Murtha was a two war, retired, Marine combat veteran of Korea and Vietnam. He was a decorated with a Silver and Bronze Star as well as the Purple Heart. He had served as a drill instructor. He was a ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and had served the military and veterans unfailingly. But, after it was quite clear that the Bush Administration had LIED us into a war in Iraq, he changed course, did the right thing, and began to vote against Bush provisions. This right wing goof, this Jesus freak, warmonger, whose whole line of menfolk had never served in the military, called Murtha, a life serving Marine, wounded in combat, a coward. As a Marine myself, I was humiliated, embarrassed, and outraged. Fortunately, she didn't get another term.

+Victor Bozic Funny how no one questioned John Kerry's service in Vietnam until the swift boat a-holes, sponsored by jerome corsi, popped their heads up. Also funny that no one who served with Kerry questioned his medals, especially the senior officer who signed off on them, until the a-holes in 2004. Another funny was that none of their claims was ever proved to be true but I guess some dumbasses still believe in the tooth fairy

Using that loyalty to justify the idiotic actions of our government is putting the cart before the horse. To do it in front of congress is evil because it uses one individuals sacrifice as justification to sacrifice others.
