    Marie-Pierre Langlamet has been Principal Harpist with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra since 1993. She studied with Elisabeth Fontan-Binoche at the Nice Conservatoire, then with Jacqueline Borot. Marie-Pierre Langlamet took her first steps onto the international stage at an early age, winning the Maria Korchinska Competition (UK) at the age of 15, then the City of Arts Competition in Paris at 16. Appointed Principal Harpist at the Opéra de Nice when she was 17, she continued to win prizes: 1st prizewinner (2nd prize) at the CIEM in Geneva (1986), then 1st prize at the Concert Artists Guild in New York (1989), and 1st prize at the International Harp Contest in Israel (1992). At the age of 20 she was appointed to the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in New York (James Levine) and at 25 she won the position at the Berlin Philharmonic.
    Marie-Pierre Langlamet has performed as a soloist with prestigious orchestras and conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Simon Rattle, Christian Thielemann, Francois-Xavier Roth and Marek Janowski. From 2010 to 2020, she taught at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. Since 2021, she has been teaching at the Hanns Eisler Musikhochschule. Since 1994, she has also been teaching at the Herbert von Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic.
