26 here and exactly same problem, it got worse in my teenage years and affected my studies even though I was one of the brightest students, I couldn't even get out of any room I was in if relatives came, it kept getting worse and I hesitated to get even a haircut, it ruined my entire life. worse combination - shyness+introvert+anxiety+overthinking+hypertension+low self confidence. worst ever.

@@sigmamale4106 you'd have to, HAVE TO get out of your comfort zone and interact, if can't just sit among them, I mean relatives etc, be part of their conversations, and go and attend marriages, even if you don't like it, I know it's hard and feel like impossible but TRY, keep trying. And it definitely helps.
I have the same problem and it's getting worst day by day...I can not speak infront of few peoples..My voice get shivering with fear during the conversation...
He is absolute right in my childhood i used to abstain giving speeches on annual day or independance day though i was brilliant students and i used to score highest marks in my class.The only thing goes in my mind is if i commit any error the people will laugh at me.i was scared of embarrassment.

I still feel the same. As a MBA graduate I've given countless presentations, interviews, initiated conversation with strangers, did an internship in a call center where i had to call every minute, but still i get anxiety whenever someone calls me, i fear of meeting strangers. I really have to push hard even to make conversation with my friends. And after that it feel like I'm totally exhausted... 😖😖😖😖😖

Bro you have introverted personality and nothing wrong being an introvert. These extroverted dominant world can't understand us because they think being extrovert is normal and introvert is abnormal. But thats 100% false. Both personality type have their own advantage and disadvantage. You know most famous, intelligent and rich minds are introvert like bill gates, Elon Musk, Einstein and many more.

1. You should proud of yourself.
2. If you are in assembly, try to find a quality by whom you can proud of yourself and that quality(s) are not present in anyone who are present in assembly.

Multiple times i got rejection due to fear of interview at extreme level.i lost so many apportunities n time..my heart beat used to be so high due to this anxiety.no one understood my prblm in my family..it still happens to me but not that much..but it destroyed lots of years of mine.

Some tips-
1. Do something embarrassing in public on purpose. Then observe people's response/reaction. You'll learn a thing or two.
2. Go for a walk everyday without fail. Before starting, leave your phone at home. Observe people on the way. If you catch a glimpse of an acquaintance promptly greet them. Engage them in a small talk. Stay light hearted.
3. Don't try to control each and everything but do take initiatives like starting a conversation, being proactive in helping others.
4. Don't delay a piece of work till the last moment.
5. Try to engage with people or your acquaintances not just when a need arises but also to have a good time with them. Invite them to join you in some fun activity. Ask them what they are going to do at the weekend and if it sounds fun to you ask them if you could join them.
6. Go to places where you can find people who share same interests as you.
7. Be assertive for what you consider is right.
8. Take help from your family and friends. Like, in front of them do the things that you fear to do in public and ask what they were thinking while you were carrying out them. This will help you immensely.
9. Regularly check on not just your near and dear ones but also all your friends, relatives and acquaintances whom you care for even a little. Heck even set periodic reminders on your phone to give them a ring.
10. Keep engaging with people and don't let much time pass between interactions. Take some time out everyday to socialize. It will help you to become comfortable socially.
If anxiety is going out of control seek professional help without any feeling of guilt or shame.
Thanks for the points(noted). However, regarding point number 2, I often tend to look straight into people eyes and hoping them to break the eye contact first, but while doing so the other person assumes (or perhaps I assume) that I am some kind of an arrogant person, or I am just swaggering. And then this creates self doubts in myself as to whether I should I just briefly look into people's eyes, or I should never even do this at the first place. Hence, I have started to avoid making eye contact lately or even when I do this, I instantly look away( when I do this , I think very poor of me and embarassed). For example, once upon a time , I was coming back from market, while walking down the street, I made an eye contact with an auto-rickshaw driver who was just standing beside his auto-rickshaw. I kept looking into his eye and never looked away and while doing so , i don't know but it infuriated me or it agitated me.. I thought of walking over to that guy and trying to fight or scold or verbally abuse him for not breaking the eye contact with me(but I guessed my thought process was deceiving me and I really didn't know what to do in those kind of situations).. So idk who really the first person should have been to break the eye contact.. the driver was determined as well to not break the eye contact and so was I .. so please suggest what to do in those situations especially in India. Thanks.

@@santosh680Just make sure to make eye contact when the most important part of the conversation comes up. You don't need to keep looking into eyes during the entire interaction. The only trick is you have to expose yourself socially regularly. You don't need to completely change your personality. Just learn enough social skills to survive and thrive in your personal and professional life. It may sound a bit odd but many people don't even know how to make a request and apology. Just by learning how to properly make a request you can get your job done without getting into confrontation.

I don't know whether this a social anxiety or not but during my teenage years i was overthinker about everything from how i look to what people think about me and what if they start labelling me as a bad child. I was very lean as child which kept me depressed all the time. Now I will get anxious only when you throw me in a situation where i don't know what to do or things which are completely new to me. I love talking to different strangers if i get good vibes from them but i still avoid my relatives.
This also with me , in my childhood I was bully in school by teacher , after that everytime self confidence down , today I got worse ( comparsion with my sister ) today I am not going outside my house due this cause I forget the enjoy my life
