You are the greatest plant mom. I'm happy that you brought her back to life. I appreciate you sharing what you learn with the plant community here on CZcams. We love and appreciate you Melissa 🤟
Thank you so much!! I love this series too it’s nice to look back at where they started and it makes me appreciate everything they’ve gone through because it’s taught me so much! 💜
12:05 I think the word you were looking for here is corking! ❤ The best way I’ve found to remove scale is to manually remove it by hand and treat with neem oil! I find neem oil helps to stop the scale from sticking to the leaf tissue! ❤
Good morning Melissa! Your Aurea is absolutely beautiful and I am so happy for you that she recovered so well💚💚💛💛 Thank you for all you do and god bless you and your family on this beautiful day ❤❤🤗🤗🕊🕊🪽
Your cold open/intro was so cute, playful. All the feels came thru this video ... lovely Sunday afternoon watch, esp. since it was chock full of useful info for us. One thing I appreciate about you, Melissa, is your engagement in the comments, so we can continue learning. Thank you.
Wow $700! 😮 I just bought my most expensive plant an Anthurium Michelle x Doc Block gorgeous plant for $195. 😅 Worth every penny! Joys of getting old 😂 girl you have a long way to go. I finally did a video last weekend at a table because the floor is so challenging for this 55 year old.
I’m looking forward to my Aurea getting big like yours. she’s in Leca and loves it. Funny because her arial roots are growing exactly the same in the back as yours it’s stunning and I love her! 💚
She is gorgeous 😍. I have 2 that I have started from wet sticks and they are growing but still small. I just recently repotted my biggest of the 2 and added a moss pole to start training her. I have also added a mint I got as a TC. Monstera is my absolute favorite along with anthiriums and alocasia’s
If this plant gets any bigger you could have a community of Ewoks build treehouses in it and live there, I’m sure they’d be very happy. Gorgeous plant you should be proud of the care you’ve given it. Once again Plantologist Extraordinaire.
I’m so excited for my small form to arrive from Enliven AU ❤❤. I have a small large form Aurea named Audrey. Aurora (small form Aurea) will be going onto a moss pole with my Albo (no name atm). Audrey cost $150 (size of a 375ml can) Aurora cost me $99.
I did this to my monstera deliciosa. Now I have a bunch of babies and I have mine planted in a pot. The wet sticks grew leaves. I was surprised that they all sprouted except two small ones. That is the only monstera I have right now. 😊 I think seeing you cut your plants gave me the courage to cut mine like that.
Hey Melissa I love your teachings. This was so important right now for me. I purchased a beautiful one leaf cutting from someone. Was told keep it in water for a week pot it up in your choice of substrate . 😢Root rot is real. Its got a nice aerial root with a couple half inch roots starting. I want to leave it in water till spring. What would you do? Its not expensive but the leaf and stem varigation is so pretty. Thanks so much
I have a brownish leaf on my Thai and I contributed it to be variegated and just got to much sun, but now I wonder. I cut off the brown part and thankfully I don’t see anymore. I wish I could have bought one of your cuttings!
Gorgeous plant. I just got an import that I got from a vendor on Palm Street. I am trying to root her in moss. I found that the aerial root was rotting. I cut it on. Which rooting medium is best? Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much! I'm not sure about just a cutting. You could do a Etsy search but you can get a fully rooted smaller plant for probably around the same price. I got my second plant from Rare plant fairy and I know lex is selling some smaller plants on her site @plantlifelex
Omg Melissa….I wish I could send you a pic of the Aurea that I “found” in a Deliciosa that I purchased. I still have the mother plant and the Aurea has all yellow leaves with a bit of green. I’ve tried everything and nothing changes. The leaves curl but have NEVER browned, it’s really strange and sometimes I think I’ve stumbled upon something really special that I’m looking for some expertise to help with. Wish I could attach a pic
@@plantsbymelissa I sure will! Keep in mind I propergated it and the buyer has sent me pics of the same exact plants I have….curly all yellow almost lime colored leaves that never brown. Thank You so much for responding
They're all deliciosa, just small form or large form. From my understanding, borsigiana isn't an official designation. Its something someone made up along the way, probably to boost prices…
@@carolinebaines8735 thank you for your opinion, just for information, I have 2 types of monstera, deliciosa and deliciosa var. borsigiana. They are both different, that's why I asked as above
I used to think borsigiana was different than deliciosa but after researching more and from what I understand they are the same plant. I think there's just a lot of misinformation out there. The smaller/compact form does not have borsigiana officially attached to it. So I would say the aurea is a subspecies or variety of monstera deliciosa :)
@@plantsbymelissa I agree with your opinion that aurea is a variation of monstera deliciosa 😊 I'm just asking out of curiosity, and whatever people's opinions are is valid. And most importantly I enjoy looking at your beautiful plants 😊💚🤣

You are so welcome! Thank you for being here 💜🥰
She’s really beautiful! You’ve done a great job bringing her back from root rot 💚
Thank you so much! I’m happy she’s grown back well for me 🥹

Yeah 🙈 I saw it and thought about it for a few hours and was worried someone would buy it so I decided to go for it. It was speaking to me 🥹 haha

So pretty! I love monsteras. I have none. This, though, makes me want to get one.😂
Good morning 😊. I’m currently shopping for my first Aurea. My birthday is coming up and I’m searching for the perfect one 💕🪴

Wow, your Aurea is just perfect!😍 Does she get direct sunlight? I'm scared to burn mine 😅
Thank you for the great videos you make!
She’s stunning! I think we all made purchase during the pandemic that we wouldn’t normally do. At least, I did! You have a beautiful collection!
I love her! I selfishly wish you would prop her though so I can buy a cutting ☺️
❤❤❤❤❤🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
🥰🥰
gorgeous 😍
Yes. So in another 3 years she will be huge!
Can't wait 😁
I also don’t have browning on 3 Thai cons or Albos.

Oh ! I want one i am in love again, how much and how can i purchase one from you?
😍😍🥰🥰🥰🌿🌿
Wonderful plant! Why not in Lechuza pon?
I have an albo in pon and it loves it but I might consider it for my aurea ❤️
Melissa I am growing Aurea from wet stick. But it looks like a pothos. Not sure if I got duped. How can I tell if it's an aurea
Did I miss the link to the poles?
Wait, you are NOT on fb? I follow plants by Melissa and it has a picture of you on the profile pic and they post daily….running to unfollow there 😮
I have an account but not that one but I don’t post 😅 they post random stolen photos and nothing of what I actually own 😂 it’s so weird and creepy.
Wow, I'm shocked, $700 😮 It's done so good with you though. ❤
what kind of silica do you use? thanks!
Do u use water from the faucet?
