Pure jealousy. Gotta say, it felt great getting mine out of hibernation today and took the kids on a short little drive with the top down. I've missed that car. Love my buick 3800 but that Chevy small block makes me giggle like a school girl.

I love my C5, but I miss my C4, too, especially the simplicity of pulling up to any available pump at the gas station, lol.
does the c4 not require premium gas?
@@veganjoy they are refering to the centre mounted gas cap, so it doesn't matter which side the pump is on. But To answer that question, yes & no. Early c4's happily run on 87 octane but later cars (after 90') when they started changing motors etc it's probably recommend to use premium

@@veganjoy basically if the Vette has an LT1 it can take 87. But the lt4 in later years most likely requires premium. Just make sure to check Vin numbers

i bought a 90 triple black convertible with 92k on it 1 owner car sat for 6 years im working the heating issue bugs out but every HOT lap i take in it before it heats is BLAST cant wait for my new SUMMIT radiator to get here so i can put the top down and have a CORVETTE SUMMER!!!

I just added the Corsa mufflers and removed all the cats and added a larger diameter Y pipe, sounds wicked !!!
I love the electronic dashboard. It would be considered retro-futuristic these days but I still consider it futuristic.
That's how a digital dashboard should be. Like something straight out of Star Wars or 2001: a Space Odyssey

Your post removing mufflers came just in time. Replaced a leaking y-pipe then noticed your post. The sound on yours and others is just right w/o the mifflers, on my 1990 C4. Thanks!

Awesome, love the format. Really liking the time and effort it must have taken to make. Love the fact the C4 Does Not Smoke at all on start up or any other time. Great 0 to 60 time, not to far off from a stock C5. Once you get your white one fully sorted you should do something similar but different. Keep up the good work.

Awesome way to start everyone off to a new corvette season!!! Not sure why rhe thumbs down, but haters gonna hate - just jealous folk! The only other thing I can think of is that they didn't like 2 or 3 youtube ads interrupting the vette drive!! Thumbs up from me tho!!!!

That C4 still looks so cool. Imagine how cool it looked back in the 1980s. Especially in Europe where cars then really were crap.
You are right about that, I bought my 84 in May 1983, new and shipped it to Germany in 1984 and it was a hit with the Europeans, still not as fast as the their cars but I was able to hit 150 mph, I still have the Vette along with an 82, 98 and a 2019.

Hey Chris. I had to think on your question for a while. 13 dislikes is not that terrible. I think this video is just out of the norm for you and your channel not what people expect to see. I thought it was a great video. Especially when I stopped to think how much time effort and planning went into recording each sequence. Your videography is getting better and better keep growing my friend and keep up the entertaining videos. I'm partial to the C4 videos because I have a 92 project car sitting in my driveway. You and others have inspired me to want to start posting videos of my own. Just haven't found the time. As you know you just can't video on your phone with one hand and adlib while working with the other. That's makes amateurish content. Keep it up I'm learning from you.

Thanks for the comment. There could have been more but this was when they were showing the dislikes. At the time I only saw 13 dislikes. I actually thought it was one of his better videos myself.

your C4 is in beautiful condition, I own an 86 convertable thats about on par, nice job on the exhaust and sounds great, my factory system sounds pretty decent with just the cats removed but will look into what youve done here, thanks for the ideas. greetings from B.C Canada
Sounds great Chris!! I ordered the exact same exhaust as you showed I'm super excited to get it on mine!! Unfortunately the muffler delete is the only thing I'm still waiting for. I ordered it on April 6th but they say it won't ship until around May 18th which sucks a bit since I leave for a car show the 19th. I'm being as patient as possible but you're making it difficult. 😂 Awesome video though. As always your content never disappoints. Smashing that thumbs up for ya! 👍

sounds great! even though my 2020 ford edge would prob smoke this vette, it's not the point. the 80's nostalgic value is priceless. have had plenty of camaros and ta's, but now want a C4 vette for my mid-life crisis therapy to tinker with. already made a list of what i want to do to it. LED dash bulbs and an exhaust like yours is a must!

Depending on how many miles you have on the transmission, be very careful with high-rpm manual shifts, ie 1-2 ... I learned the hard way the seals in the on 700s can be toasty, and easy to blow when locked up and pulling high pressures. Oh - Best C4 video currently on the 'Tube. Smash that Like button, everyone!

I just bought a 1993 c4 ruby red convertible. Can't find a muffler eliminator kit right now so a local custom muffler shop is going to delete the mufflers and add large double SS tips. It's a blast to drive.

4:37 Amazes me how these c4’s sound like those old v12 mercedes engines with the f1 headers and exhuast or those fuckin Gintani SVJ’s, this one is a really great sound, great car, great build! Definitely looking into for my next build

So I noticed that you shifted the manual transmission ,I just inherited a 87 from my Dad and I finally cleared the codes fixed the Leakes and also fixed the abs,now I am ready to drive her and want to make sure I know all the tricks of shifting, Thanks

Yes. I’m working out the bugs with LEDs.
@@mycorvettelife Ahhh, maybe just unplug the bulb, turn 180° and put it back in. With LEDs electricity can only flow in one specific direction.
This C4 sounds SICK! My only disappointment is that it is not a manual. Shame you sold it as it looks to be a REALLY clean example of a C4. I see you got a Callaway Corvette though so that will be the next video I watch.
