    I love George! Thank you for these videos!

    Great video George, I always glean some useful tidbit. Going to give the series/parallel a go. Have you wired a series/parallel using a base cone as one (or more) of the speakers? If so, how did it work out?

    I have both Athearn ATSF F7, & F7B units, three of Bachmann ATSF SD40-2, Geep, & BNSF GP40, & a custom built NS SD50, and I was wondering what is the best speaker to use?

    • @SoundtraxxDCC
      @SoundtraxxDCC  Před 5 lety

      For the Bachmann SD40-2s and GP40 use the 35X16mm 810113.
      For the Athearn F7s use the 28mm round speaker 810153.
      For a custom built locomotive, we cannot determine the best speaker since we don’t have the locomotive. You can contact our Customer Support Department for more help: (970)259-0690 ext. 22 or support@soundtraxx.com

    Hi, I have two Athearn SD70ACE with Tsunami 1 and 2 install, and they have the same problem. Speaker blown Both engines have power rating .25W.
    So you mentioned Tsunami 1 and 2 have higher power rating between 1 and 2 watts. This mean I need to ask athearn to change to correct speaker, is this correct? I saw your page and the 28mm speaker 810153 only has 1 watts power, is this enough for my engines??

    • @SoundtraxxDCC
      @SoundtraxxDCC  Před 4 lety

      The 810153 has a nominal rating of 1 watt and a peak rating of 2 watts so it would be ok with the 2 watt amplifiers. You can contact our Customer Support Center for more detailed help on the subject: soundtraxx.com/contact/technical-support

    Everytime I've used speakers in parallel and press the horn button, it restarts the decoder. Series works fine. This has happened on different Soundtraxx speakers and different Soundtraxx decoder combinations. It is worse if you set the EQ, even with the volume as low as 110.

      We do recommend in all our documentation to wire the speakers in series on all Tsunami2 and Econami products. This helps take the load off the amplifier (Audio circuit is designed for 8+ ohm impedances). This is outlined at the 4:45 mark of the video. For more detailed troubleshooting and further assistance, please contact our support department support@soundtraxx.com

      Actually, Technical note #8 shows that you recommend two speakers to be wired in parallel.

    • @SoundtraxxDCC
      @SoundtraxxDCC  Před 6 lety

      Technical Note #8 Refers to Tsunami DSDs not Tsunami2 or Econami DSDs. In this video, we explain why series is a better option to use.

      Thanks, but on the website you call the Tsunami2 and Econami a DSD so it is a little confusing for the reader.

    • @SoundtraxxDCC
      @SoundtraxxDCC  Před 6 lety

      I'm sorry you are confused. Tsunami, Tsunami2, Tsunami SoundCar, and Econami are all Digital Sound Decoders (DSDs). I'm going to go a head and just take Tech Note #8 down to try to minimize confusion. I hope this helps! If there is anything else we can do to help please feel free to email me at smarketing@soundtraxx.com. Thank you!

      Assuming HO scale, we recommend our 28mm (1") Round Speaker p.n. 810153 & our 28mm Baffle Kit p.n. 810110. *Tip: Use the Decoder Selector on our website when choosing a speaker. For many models we recommend a speaker as well as a decoder.
