- So, I spent like 30 minutes to render this in HD... You're gonna use it, right?
I present you one of my biggest projects so far. I worked on this video for 3 days straight and I can't believe I finally finished! I have mixed feelings about the final result, and even if I know it's not perfect I hope you guys like it. I think it's good, although I rushed the ending. I don't know how I had this idea, but Pocahontas is one of my favourite Disney movies and I guess I just wanted to use her. Also, I missed making a crossover ^^
Storyline:
Simba is a lion cub who lives happily with his father Mufasa in Africa, until the day a hunter, John Smith, appears. Mufasa tries to attack to protect his son, but John kills him and captures Simba, who is taken away from his home. The boat stops in a land, and Simba manages to escape and run away from the men. In that very same land, lives an indian called Pocahontas. She hears something, and she's amazed to find out it was a lion. Simba is afraid of her initially, but soon he realizes she's different from the other humans. Once she has a special connection with the nature, she can understand him. He tells her his story and she decides to take care of him.
He grows up by her side, and they're happy until John Smith and some other hunters go back to that land. Pocahontas and Simba go check what's happening, and she falls in love with John. Simba doesn't like him, but he can't understand why. (He doesn't remember who John is) Like in the movie, Pocahontas and John get together. Simba doesn't like it, still he accepts their relationship until he remembers John was the man who killed his father. He goes tell Pocahontas, but she says he must be mistaken, fights with him and he goes away, feeling betrayed.
When Simba is alone, he notices that the other hunters are coming. He tries to escape, but there's no way out and he's captured. Pocahontas is with John when she realizes something different is happening. John finally tells her that his men are hunting there, and she knew Simba was captured when she realizes he had gone on the same direction the hunters were. She wants to run and save him, but John asks her to stay away, otherwise she could be killed by the hunters. She says she has to save "her brother", and goes.
Meanwhile, a hunter is getting prepared to shoot Simba. Pocahontas runs.
IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE ENDING, STOP READING AND GO WATCH THE VIDEO.
Pocahontas arrives just after Simba was killed. She cries and she can't forgive herself, because if she had listened to him he would be alive. Feeling guilty, she asks the hunter to kill her too, and so he does. In the ending, John decides he won't be a hunter anymore, and the one who killed Simba also quits.
You can interpret the hug at the end the way you want. Was it just a dream Pocahontas had right before she died or did it actually happen in paradise? It's up to you ^^
Also, as I said, I worked really hard on this, so feedback is very welcome ^^ What was your favourite part? Mine is when the play on the snow!

I didn't think so many people would ask this xP I did use the movie Frozen, but only a screenshot of it, at 0:27 (The cell where Simba is thrown in). It might seem too little but I like to list all I use to avoid potention copyright issues and to be as accurate as possible.
*Is this beastiality/Are Simba and Pocahontas romantically involved?*
No, and no. I get that some parts of the video COULD be perceived as that, but that's NOT what it's supposed to be. Please note that in this video they are like brother and sister; Pocahontas raised Simba after she found him, and in NO WAY was she ever in love with him or the other way around. They're friends/siblings at heart, NOTHING MORE. Any insinuation of the opposite is just in your head.
*How did you edit this?*
I used After Effects CS6 to make the masks I used (aside from those I borrowed from other editors - mentioned in the description), Photoshop CS5 to create backgrounds (such as the one at 0:51) and Vegas Pro 13.0 to compose it all together.
*Why the sad ending?*
I like creating stories that get a reaction out of those who see it. Happy endings often end up perfectly, that's not what I was going for. I wanted something that would shock people, make those who watch it think about it afterwards. It's supposed to be about sacrifice and regret, and you can't have that while ending things perfectly. As sorry as I am that you feel sad about this, I can say that that was the reaction I was going for.
*Why Simba and Pocahontas?*
Both because it's easy to put them together and because I like the idea of them being put together.
*But that's not what happens in TLK/Pocahontas! This video is fake!*
This is a CROSSOVER. Alternative Universe, characters from different universes put together. NOTHING in this video is related to the original movies and stories. That’s kind of the point of editing. I never claimed this was an official Disney release, because it is NOT

Lion King and Pocahontas were being produced at the same time by different divisions of Disney's animation staff. Not sure how relevant that is, just neat
This is a very great edit and there are 4 main reasons I like this edit a lot.
(1) The movies aren't ONLY The Lion King and Pocahontas. It also has a bit of Tarzan and Frozen in it.
(2) The CGI is awesome between the 4 movies like when Simba is in the cage , it looks like he is actually in the cage.
(3) This includes very few lines and is not JUST music. This adds a lot to the edit.
(4) The beginning is not a full backstory. There is just a tiny bit of backstory but it doesn't have a full-on backstory.
Even though there is not the best editing, this is still the best edit I have seen yet.

Holy...just... WOW!! This is one of the most amazing crossovers I've ever seen! The storyline is very original and easy to follow, and it all just flowed so smoothly together! My favorite part would have to be when they're playing in the water together, and when they're in the canoe together as well! And the scene at the end where the wind is flowing through both of their hair was just perfect! And you did an amazing job with the voiceovers as well! Just all around, an absolutely amazing video!! I hate crossovers. I absolutely hate them. They look shitty and don't fit. But this is lovely and the bond reminds me of a relationship between a brother and a sister. I thought this was sweet and I can definitely watch this without cringing.

Ok so this popped up in the recommendations and I was a little hesitant due to the title. Usually with these Disney crossover videos it's a romance sort of deal, so I expected something on that level with morbid curiosity. But instead I found a beautiful story of friendship brought together by horrible circumstances. Granted the ending was a bit of a downer, but at least they're together again as spirits. I would love to read this in story form, if anyone can write this as a fanfic please let me know. I would like to know if Pocahontas can understand Simba or if it's the same deal she has with the other animals. I would also like to see how Simba reacts to the Native American society, he's probably really popular with the kids.
