  • Andrew Zimmern is a chef, restaurateur, author, and Emmy Award-winning food TV pioneer. You can catch his latest series, Family Dinner with Andrew Zimmern, Sunday nights on Magnolia Network, and Wild Game Kitchen is coming later this year to Outdoor Channel. But how is he with spicy food? Zimmern may have traveled the globe eating chilies in Northern Thailand and mala hot pot in Chengdu, but he's never faced hot sauces like Da Bomb and The Last Dab Apollo. Watch him check "Hot Ones" off his bucket list and share wisdom on everything from the cultural significance of supermarkets, to how birria tacos took over social media.

    This is the first Hot Ones that actually made ME cry. It seems so bonkers to me that we as a species follow the example of some of the most disconnected, self-aggrandizing, arrogant and entitled people when there're thoughtful solutions to real problems presented by wise and caring people. I can hear in Andrew's voice a sort of resigned acceptance that people won't internalize the information he's giving, that he sees what's coming and knows we won't fix it, but he and many like him are going to keep giving us the tools. I admire him and the ways in which he uses his energy, time and passion. I hope more people start following his example.

    • @jmanswat2457
      @jmanswat2457 Před rokem +2

      There's definitely room for improvement. But I don't see a good solution if we want our food "globalized." What the food industry has become is because "WE" demanded it. Our favorite foods EVERYWHERE, ANYTIME, and AFFORDABLE. It's an impossible task any way you slice and try to fix it.
      You make it "healthy and organic" and now it costs to much and isn't plentiful enough. You make it cheap and available and now it's GMO'd and "not healthy" for you etc etc.

    I really appreciate that Andrew took the time to give his honest opinion on each hot sauce's flavor profile. Something that I feel gets lost on this show by guests more often than not. One of my favorite episodes to date!

    "They had a vowel movement."
    Needless to say, I think we know how Andrew feels about that network....

      Completely agree but I hope he knows we feel the same way. The network isn't the same. Not what it used to be!

      you mean how it's become a total shill? putting a bunch of crap on the network to make money hand over fist, then cancel shows that ARE about travel to make way for more garbage that doesnt even belong? should give travel back to people like AZ and go make the BOO network.

    Love love love! Best memories as a child was watching Andrew with my dad after school. Can’t believe I only saw this now.

    Literally, he is one of the coolest people you have had on here. He's not trying to be cool he comes in the knowledge he comes in with honest comments I would love to see him come back I love him and you really cares about the world and I think that's honestly one of the reasons that they got rid of him was because of his honesty and his love what a dragon shame
