Nice finds. My father spent a year in stalag 5a and 5 b. There is the old saying that if a bullet has you name on it will find you. Maybe his was in that hole you dug. He made it home and readied a wonderful family. I dig the music my friends.
Great finds, sehr toll! The music is haunting and heartbreaking. I'm an American vet and I salute our former foes, who died doing their duty for their homeland and country with honor. May our nations live in peace and friendship. We stand by your side during your current hardship. Thank you for helping preserve history. That we may never forget.
@@marco.0571 It's ammo for the MG34/MG42 and that IS 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser). The MG42 is the machine gun responsible for the high casualty rate on DDay, but it was nowhere near 10k people in an hour. Especially since the total number of allied dead that day wasn't even 10,000.
What a treasure trove. It really gives you an idea how they lived, what they saw every day. Congratulations on finding it! Better than a museum, because it is in situ and completely authentic, not surplus pulled out of some warehouse to show off.
wow, that was some dig.............. that box of ammo was a crazy find, not because of the amount but the condition.......... if I read the bullet right it was made in 1935? looked almost new, except for a few at the top........... incredible............ 80 years old........... what history you guys just held in your hands.............. keep the amazing digs and films going guys.
Was habt ihr damit gemacht? Tolle Funde!!!
Wow, totally amazing find, after so long after the war time, ammunition is in remarkable condition. Thank you for sharing your very interesting video. Regards from Queensland, Australia.
Thanks for sharing your finds. Intact belted mg 34/42 ammo still in can is extra rare and extra nice! Almost all fully functional. Congratulations from Texas. Really enjoy your videos.
The ammobox is so amazing. Could you please tell me what the square ceramic plates are (in 4:17) found one of them recently and I have no idea yet. Thanks again for sharing! Very motivating :)
World war 2 Relics in the Philippines sold for Scrap. even some parts in Cavite South best of Manila old Cannons Found in the bay between two Military Bases
You know that earth can preserve objects ? There is a reason why archaeologists sometimes decide to NOT excavate objects ? Digging up WW II ammunition wouldn t be that big a problem. The big problem here is that you use metal detecting and do not know what exactly you will find until you dig up the object - and then it is already too late because much of the information is lost. There are legal ways to preserve your/our history. It is not right that some individuals destroy our all history (and in the worst cases sell the objects or keep them for themselves at home)
anywhere really ww2 was massive, but do some history research and look at the main areas were a lot of fighting happened take a trip into the woods or fields with some metal detectors and have fun and maybe make some money lmao
even if the powder in those bullets are good the primers are more then likely shot, I tried to shoot some old bullets once, they didn't work, the powder inside was still good on inspection inside!
help me understand this, the german army buried this ammo box or during the past 70 years, nature done its work and the soil continued to piled upon this?
Probably a fox hole/trench/pit that was filled over time. likely forgotten after the mg team abandoned the point or advanced onward and wasn't able to return to retrieve the extra box
I see a ton of money in these videos, and also see a bunch of scrap metal. Where do you sell this stuff ? Or does everyone have storage lockers full of this stuff ?
+AC-Adventures MG42 belt. Used it in the exact same cases in 1990 in the army our ammunition was typical 1938-1942, i.e. old stock. These bullets will work fine as they are!! Take care

Used that round for 30 + yrs 8x57 hunting deer , not the machine gun round but the rifle round . Machine gun round was a bit hard on rifle barrales .

does any one know of any good detecting places in germany, italy, or france? any help would be very useful and much appreciated.
here is some help.... IT IS ILLEGAL, so please stop this Sh+t. You are destroying history
+yesterdaywassunday how, by leaving it in the ground it will never be seen again and will be destroyed

+Tore Lund yes mg34/mg42 belt
Ammo is Marked with 1935,1939,1940 and 1944
I am sad that we can't bring the belt home
To dangerous
Funny, so the Danish army bought surplus Nazi ammunition from Germany after WW2! I've fired plenty of these I was a MG42 gunner while in the army.
+Tore Lund a dream to shot with hitlers buzzsaw :D
Nice video!
For the English speaking for the love of god what is the first song, great finds but damn the first song is beautiful.
What gun was it used for?
probably an MG42
Dave or mg38
im thinking about buying a metal detector, and i have no idea what brands are good etc so my question is what detector is the most for your money
The best and cheapest detector ist the Garrett ace 250
Very easy system
Very good for this Price
Tolle Funde ,besonders die Patronen , was habt ihr damit eigentlich gemacht ?
wooooooooow, where did you find these relics?
Did I see a headstamp on one of those rounds that was dated "74"?
No. They are stamped with 1935-1944
there was one with 74 on it but to the right there was a 35.
Uli
