First Time In ANTARCTICA 🇦🇶 | Ocean Endeavour | Ep 1
Vložit
- čas přidán 28. 05. 2024
- I travelled to Antarctica on an 11 day expedition aboard the Ocean Endeavour.
In this first episode we set off from Ushuaia and cross the infamous Drake Passage.
Arriving in Antarctica, we set out on zodiacs and were greeted by humpback whales, before setting foot on Antarctica for the very first time.
In the afternoon we took part in the polar plunge, jumping in water of -1.5C.

7 Continents, completed it mate. I'll have to make it to Antartica when I am 40. Gives me 12 years to save up. Unreal scenes.
U will do it before 40
How much one man needs to travel Argentina-and then Antartica and then back. Averagely. For ten days. Four days in Antartica amd then 6_7 days in argentina. Modarate exp. Thanks in advance
Karl - thank you so much for your fantastic videos. I’ve found them to be such an inspiration ever since coming across your channel years ago. Not only is the quality the best I’ve seen of any traveller, but the story and narrative constructed makes me feel a part of the trips themselves. God bless CZcams and their algorithm!
Your videos are really a treat to the eyes and sheerly inspiring Karl, This one was spectacular, can't wait for the 2nd ep!
I love this! It's my dream, thanks for the inspiration
27 mins in wow wow wow. This footage is amazing. Love the journey, this is what people want to watch. This should be on mainstream TV.

What a spectacular day! Just amazing!
Stunning video! Top quality work.
wow! i am lost for the words
So excited for this.
Another amazing video Karl. I really enjoy them, but what I enjoy most (and hopefully you will) is that you're inspiring my 12 year old daughter to want to explore the world, and be a travel film producer when she's older. Thank you! We're doing a very similar trip to your Europe video from a few years ago this summer....interrailing and going to Wengen, Lauterbrunnen, Interlaken and doing some of the hikes you filmed. She's going to make her own little video, in your style!
Oh that’s so cool to hear!! Good for her, hope you have an amazing trip 😊
Your brilliant editing and soundtrack as usual --- but the most fun of all ---
you and Paddy --- my two favorite youtubers in the world --- on the same adventure, wow!
What a delight --- to watch the same Antarctica boat voyage -- but through the eyes of two different, entertaining, and charming film makers. Your wife's roast of you --- priceless!
Stunning Episode !!! Well done.
Awesome video as always, best travel vlogger on you tube!

Added that to the life goals!
Really loving this series so far, so inspirational. Loved the Patagonia film too. Congratulations to you and Jamie as well on your wedding 🥂
The landscape is just unbelievable - I think if I was there I would have trouble comprehending what I was seeing and would just be standing around with my mouth open forgetting to film! As someone who gets travel sick on the train I think a youtube video is the closest I'm likely to get to the Drake Passage, so thank you for capturing it so beautifully and letting us feel the spirit of adventure from the safety of our sofas 😂
Great video !
Another Awesome Adventure Thank You Karl 🙂❤👍Watching from NB Canada🙂🙂🙂
such a lovely journey! Amazing place, awesome views! I've started travelling throught Patagonia, altthough I think I will never reach Antarctica. Greetings from Córdoba, just in the heart of Argentina, South America.

We got the best “ Drake Shake “ on our way back. 5 story high waves ❤❤❤❤.
We were also lucky to camp on the ice overnight just in special sleeping bags straight on the ice, with mats under us. Fabulous experience . Can’t wait for your next video 😊😊😊😊
Amazing video. Just needs to go viral with the flat earthers 😂

Karl Watson: Travel Documentaries, Wow, this made my day brighter! Thank you!
Amazing 🎉
A great adventure 😍😎🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧I loved the penguins.

✋✋✋
So you went to night king’s home !
Mate what an Epic trip. This is so on our bucket list to go and film. Love your storytelling, video editing and content is awesome...Cheers Karl until the next one 👍🏽🤠
Cheers 😊👍
Idiotically ways it’s good … keep it going… thanks
Wait, was Pippa the one on the good morning call? I recognize her voice and we were on another boat last year!
Epic adventure to put it mildly 🎉😅 On a side note, James point about charging you for every picture (he might have said it as a joke) holds water. He became a bit of celebrity in the previous adventures resulting in pulling in tons of views and subscribers. Whereas you’re very skilled in storytelling and shooting. Not sure where it failed, this combination has a potential for something really BIG likes of Friends or Jeremy Clarkson and co (now on Amazon). Still a possibility though as long both of you agree on a commercial mechanism where both of you could benefit as per the effort and resulting success. Nothing to lose. Best wishes
It failed?
Failed not the right word, what I meant was that James stopped appearing in the series (unless you tell me he loved his surveyor job way too much 😅), there might be some factors at play which I don’t know (maybe it wasn’t financially viable to keep going at series after series and you wanted to focus on editing business, I just don’t know). Would have been great to see you working together as a successful quality content producing venture.
Such a shame there's so much of Antarctica you're not allowed to see 🤔
Best travel documentarian on youtube.
I saw Pakistan stamp on your passport ❤
Amazing trip have you done the cost on your website Karl
Haven’t done a budget breakdown yet but the package we sold was £7,499 for Cat 6 comfort twin rooms
