Personally, I love that they wanted to take Shin Godzilla to such weird places. The idea of an extremophile organism evolving the ability to convert raw energy into further rapid evolutionary change is compelling. It fit well in a story that was, essentially, about a society forced to overcome its reliance on normality and rule of order to fight against a being that embodied chaos. It may be blasphemous to say, but I believe Shin Godzilla is, by far, the most thought provoking and creative of the franchise.

I could use a sequel that's just straight up body horror, it's cool to know the long tail was meant to be a biological function of helping him move really quickly like a snake however probably would have been too goofy for the serious, practical tone they were going with.

Honestly, I really wish they would have used it. It would have added to the fucked up nature they was going for, even the scene with the 4th form crawling. I wish they put that in as well cuz it would show him re-learning his body again after growing even larger.

If I had to pick just a couple cut things to have kept in the final movie I'd go with the super-heated melting blood/fluid and the chunks of flesh with eyes and teeth growing from them, purely just for how unsettling they are. It'd be interesting if in a hypothetical timeline we got "Shin Godzilla: The Anno Cut", where he had the full creative freedom to include all of this wacky and wild stuff in the movie. I think a lot of the reason the wilder forms were cut though was because it would just end up being Evangellion 2: Godzilla Boogaloo, by that point it wouldn't be a Godzilla movie anymore.

idk the suspected reference, but as silly as Shin looks here i initially interpreted it as frantic panic from the sudden shock of being hit
    -gets hit
    -ow
-atomic breath is a knee jerk reaction, and is out of control/aimless
-processes the fact that the hit was below it and starts aiming towards the ground, jumping to avoid danger as well as to cover more area
(or maybe someone was just feelign a little silly that day)
like im probably wrong it just kinda reminds me of how people react to stuff like bugs or mice lol
