glad this exists. My first sponsor deal was $400. Estimated to get about 1-5k views ish at the time. That particular video got 20k views. They won cause they got a hit video, I won cause I got someone to give me $400.
Congrats on landing that deal! That's the right attitude - if you overperform, it'll only help you in the future. Especially when you know how to negotiate better for the next deal 🙂

It blows my mind (but not at all surprising) how short term the thinking is for an agency not to look out for you if you're performing well for them.
Yep. In my experience, a lot of the agencies out there aren't really interested in building up true relationships.

im not a youtube content creator. i am a trucker who is expanding into the legal profession. so the videos about file management was useful for me. time management too. etc. this particular doesn't appeal to me due to my particular circumstances. but i do appreciate the stuff you upload overall though.

33:15 hey Thomas, I feel that my channel used to be like the first one, but now I stuck on the second type of channel: stagnant.
Do you know how could I fix that? I would really like to get my channel out of stagnation. I know there is probably no 1 single solution, but I don't know where to start. I'm trying topics that should be interesting, with decent thumbanils and good editing. Yet I'm not seeing growth as I used to.

Quite honestly, it was fear of comments like this that prevented me from making content on creator-adjescent topics for years. In truth, I geek out about this stuff and am hyper-passionate about it.
You'll notice this video is free and wildly unoptimized for my channel. I just wanted to make it, and wanted Dave's insights to be avaible to other creators. I'm going to make more stuff for creators as well.

This is something I've wanted to exist in the world for several years, so I decided to just make it and post it on my channel even if it doesn't fit what my current audience expects me to post.
There just isn't much content out there to help creators make informed decisions on sponsorships - and the majority of the existing info is either locked behind paid courses or serves as marketing for them.
While I won't (and can't) make a quality judgement on that existing content, I know creators will benefit from having access to a free, public resource that doesn't hold anything back within a paid product.
I’m thankful for it, Thomas is doing a massive service to creators by making this available.
