Ice pick surgery really happened and it was a failure
Lobotomy, freaky god they thought it would work.
Wonder why
@@SirQwert haha
A 7 year old boy had to go threw that pain and this boy was called to be insane he said that people where like hurting everyone in “asylums” which they are but no on beloved this little boy he said he saw it in a “vision” so this poor little boy got this so called treatment and yeah a couple years later people figured out the truth
It's called transorbital lobotomy
The hydro-therapy scene was disturbing, but it was a Hollywood exaggerated version of an actual practice. They patients (victims) weren’t boiled in a tub, they were wrapped tightly in hot wet blankets and they’d switch to cold blankets back and forth.
They were restrained, and it was uncomfortable, but not as dangerous as being locked in a tub. Lobotomies with an ice pick-like tool, however is real. 😖😖😖
@@cecilia6390 I didn’t say there were no bathtubs, I just said they didn’t lock them inside the tubs like in the show. They did use hoses and other torturous things, for sure.
@@SunBunzThey totally locked them in the tubs. How else were they going to keep them from jumping out of the tub when the water was too hot? Stop trying to downplay the true horrors of these snake pits.
@@mask938 I’m not trying to downplay anything. From what I’ve learned reading abnormal psychology (historical) textbooks when I was younger, there were no records of them being locked in tubs. They put the towels around their bodies so tightly they couldn’t move.
Both are awful, I already stated that. I just said the way they depicted it in the show was inaccurate.
@@SunBunz I highly doubt the method that was used in the show was never used in real life. You underestimate mankind’s capacity for cruelty if you really think this method was never used.
Also, one textbook that you read as a child however long ago isn’t a viable source of information.
@@mask938 well, thank you kindly, professor/keyboard-warrior. I’ll be sure to take notes for the next pop quiz.
Funny thing is that the person they said was Sarah is actually named Mildred and Sarah is the actors name also although in the show they did some horrible treatments but most of the things they did were actually humane for the time period there was just a few things like lobotomy’s and boiling people
Something being humane isn’t contingent on when it happened .
@@bobufo5729yea it actually is. But lobotomy was allways inhumane obviously
@@koenwijnen8278 no , mush for brains, it actually is not.
@@koenwijnen8278 if you can’t grasp that it’s not worth anyone to explain it to you. Something cannot be humane one day and inhumane the next.
@@bobufo5729 you lack the intelligence to understand historical context. Its fine most people arent intelligent enough it seems. Have fun being a leftie
Even for psychopaths, this is cruel
"Even" they shouldn't receive any mistreatment
@@WHHRaideryeah, but most people gut feeling is that bad people should be hurt. It’s an assumption. Takes a while for the logical more moral part to kick in and for the revenge, gut feeling, illogical part to get under control
not all psychopaths are evil.
It’s so obvious that they didn’t actually watch the show there is so much wrong information in this video and they leave out very important parts and add in things that didn’t happen or are insignificant
Ah yes, the Asylum for mental and psychopathic patients
This show confused the fuck outta me like this is one of the few shows where I straight up DESPISED the main protagonist
The most normal hospital in the 50s
Psychopaths are almost impossible to make the person with high amounts of psycopathy be a normal person because it has to do something about the damage in there brain
It’s not brain damage and we are “normal” we just cannot feel empathy or regret or shame
As a psychopath the way you word it is kind of offensive, makes it seem like we’re not people too but we are we’re just programmed differently
@@tiny_diny47 Well sure it is not brain damage like literal someone hit you in the head, but it is a mental illness that needs to be controlled by medication and psychotherapy because untreated psychopaths are an actual danger to society. I hope you are getting your treatment and that everything is okay.
@@gox8468 I don’t take medications or any type of therapy, not EVERY psychopath is a danger, but the ones that are have been triggered somehow someway. Not all psychopaths are the exact same behavior wise.
What the fuck is this grammar?
damn that's cruel
I just binged watched the shit out of this show in one night. Highly recommend.

Well I know I'm not one because I would stop this if I worked there.
And god people wonder there is such a stigma lol
The amount thats wrong with this commentary is killing me
At first I thought this was a normal hospital but I guess I was wrong
*screams WHAT ThE hECJ
No. She’s not a psychopath. She’s a lesbian. I watched the show. They say that being a lesbian was a mental illness.
This kinda reminds of the horror movie Eloise it’s a haunted asylum it is really creepy I seen the asylum irl
Shocking that this nurse is okay with boiling this patient yet shows empathy towards the governor executing people with the electric chair later on.
What...
Bro why is everything connected to Sarah Sarah’s brother Sarah’s neighbor
These methods were horrid and ineefrctive but The characters Sarah Paulson plays cured my thing for redheads
At least it works
Film series name?

@@eloise5527 alright, not like you told us
It’s probably ‘Ratched’
yo wtf is happening everyones crazy
Wait o thought Edmund got euthanised? I’m so confised
Show was very entertaining. Great pacing for most of it, beautifully shot and acted. The whole 1950s aesthetic with the pastels was cool.
That said, it felt like the writers had a complete story set for a limited series and decided they wanted to open it up for a second season. The last episode feels like it was tagged on last minute. Bringing back the blk women with MPD to bust him out smh. They just spent an entire episode showing the sensitivity and depth of his character, then all of a sudden he’s teaming up with her and the motel owner going on killing sprees, trying to get Mildred attention. If he wanted her dead why wouldn’t he have just killed her in the drive way when he drove past her? Lol no let’s drive all the way to Mexico.
It’s well worth the watch for all the other reasons, but the ending was a shame.
what is that
sarah played (obviously) by Adele
2:25 made me 😭
What did a just watch
Now that’s how you drive someone insane!
Doctors kill many
I can't believe sutch hoific things could go on, I feel like throwing up, can't watch any more

@Daytime no its not. Its called ratched.
My Challenge is Disguishing Mental Illness From Social Deviant Behavior
Did y'all know there was this practice where this guy would drill holes into people's heads and poor scalding hot water into them? Using the body for unholy reasons... Anyways the point is, if anyone knows, please tell me more info on it, not that I wanna do it bc I don't that's cruel, I'm just intrigued on what made them wanna do this and what was the effect
I don't know about the water part, but google trepanning. Reasons for drilling holes in skulls were many, from releasing demons to lowering the pressure in the skull.
I’m pretty sure you’re thinking of Jeffery Dahmer but he used acid not boiling water
I'm pretty sure this is from American Horror Story
Same creators, but this is a stand alone series
No, this is a separate series that was also made my Ryan Murphy. Ryan often uses the same actors for various shows he makes (like Sarah Paulson and Finn Wittrock).
How evil
5th best movie villain
She wasn’t a psychopath, she was literally just homosexual
She gave someone a witness an improved lobotomy. That's probably the most psycho you can get.
i dont like all the pain looks i disapprove

What’s the heck
U should not be making vids bout this
Its not a psychopath its a lesbian a queen in our generation people were very much "end homosexual" its a sin or something people that are same sex in bed were really brainwashed to the deepest possible and were doing this as to "pure and make the sin and whats causing sin thing to be clean and to boil them to death " it was a really terrifing situation if u really think into it
Were you having a seizure while writing that? What's really terrifying, is the fact that you wrote all that gibberish and thought anyone would want to read it.
