Rebuild properly. Get many assets as possible for Monahan, Anderson, and or Edmundson.
Simple, but the right answer.
@@quinsorochan7833all wrong. Got to be selective. We are not a bottom feeder. We have a nice core to build around.
@@komirules Getting as many assets as possible for the three players listed is very selective and appropriate in my opinion.
Take the first + for Monahan before the deadline, can always make him an offer in the off season.
If you can get a haul for him yes. If not extend him to a short term deal and continue to build his value. He’s a great fit for the Habs but also a great asset for them too .
Since 10 years ago, anytime I was asked which player I wanted the Habs to trade for, Sean Monahan was my answer.
Love the deal to get him here this year, very much want to see the return at the trade deadline.
In the meantime, I'm just going to enjoy watching him play for the Canadiens. Hopefully he gets healthy again soon.
The question is not if but when . Answer ; before the trade deadline passes and for the highest haul ...Colorado needs him now to get his foot in gear as Nate is out for several weeks . They want Sean anyway to run their second line ...Other teams will likely bid up the return..
no trade mtl going for the cup wake up
Monahan is still in his prime. I'd hate to see him go to another team.
If he was five years younger I would keep him. Montreal needs to gather the assets now.
A 3 yr deal would only take him to 31. Move the players that have no future, even in the short term. Hoffman, Byron , Armia, Dvorak.
Monahan has had left and right hip surgeries. He's the last player you sign in a rebuild.
If you move Dvorak, Armia , Hoffman and Byron coming off the books, you easily have around 5 mill a year deal fir 2-3 years.
of course they will trade him, 2 firts for monahan is an insane return. Habs fans get distracted by every shinny object they see. They are rebuilding, Hughes and Gorton will not deviate from that. There are still habs fans that think Drouin may turn into something, absolutely nuts
He wont get 6 mill again.
monahan will be the one to decide i guess. MOntreal cannot afford to offer a BIG CONTRACT AND moNAHAN PLAYING IN HIS LAST THIRD OF CAREER MIGHT WANT THE BIGGEST CONTRACT POSSIBLE? if he has the chance to get a big contract he will take it i guess?
REBUILD !!! you trade him he will never become better for 6 mil no way hes worth it
4.5-5 million for 2-3 years.
