I'll Be Missing You is originally by Puff Daddy, Faith Evans, and 112 and it came out in 1997 after the murder of the legendary rapper the Notorious BIG. Puff Daddy and the Notorious BIG were friends and Faith Evans was his wife so the original song has a lot of emotion behind it. The song sampled Every Breath You Take which was written by Sting and performed by the Police. Sting actually retweeted BTS performance. Both songs were also number 1 songs on the billboard hot 100. RM said they wanted to perform it because it fit the emotion of the pandemic and it incorporated singing and rapping.
