This is the 2nd comment video I have watched of yours. Years ago, my mom made a Granny Square blanket for me. The centers were all different colors and she did the outline in black. My son took the blanket to college and LEFT it at the college when he returned home, thus I lost the blanket my mom had made for me in 1974.(She started the blanket in 1973 and was originally going to make a twin-size blanket for my bed but I met someone and became engaged. I laughed and told her I needed the blanket enlarged. Due to the fact I never dated anyone more than once or twice, Mama really didn't think I'd date the guy more than once, maybe twice. We dated for 2.5 wks, (he came home to be the Best Man for his brother's wedding. I worked with his brother, this was how we were introduced (he was in the US Armed Forces and stationed overseas. We wrote letters back and forth and soon after Christmas, he started talking about marriage!! We were engaged on Valentine's Day and married in June of that year. We were married for 30 yrs at the time of his sudden death.
I've been sick over the loss of that blanket Mama made for me, but I want to replace it anyway.
Thanks so much for the amazing well-done tutorial. You have such an amazing way of teaching....absolutely amazing!
I hope to watch all of your previous videos and I am looking forward to learning new things from you and anticipating NEW CZcams Videos as well.
    Thanks so much!

Your magic circle technique is so simple! I’ve been crocheting for a while but every single time I need a magic circle, I have to go online and look it up because it confuses me and I forget every time.
From now on, I’m coming back to the beginning of this video!

Thanks for sharing your granny square tips, they are much like what my Nanna taught me when I was about 8 yrs..
I recently learnt another tip for Granny Squares when it comes to ending the round in the corner,
instead of joining with chain stitches use,
1ch and a single crochet into the top of your starting ch and you will never have to slst into the corner again, as your working strand will be in the center of the corner and you just continue on as normal!
I learnt this tip whilst crocheting a Solid Granny Square.

Yes! For the love of granny squaresđŸ‘đŸœI actually find that I don’t have to flip my work to the wrong side
not sure if it’s because of the different hold of the crochet hook. I’m using the pencil hold and not the knife hold, like yours. Thank you, thank you!! I have been watching granny square videos off and on for the last few months trying to relearn how to make one and not one of them made sense to me until I watched your video! You do a terrific job teaching technique. I successfully completed a square on my first try working along with (and pausing :) ) your video. You made my day!

My first afghan was the Granny Square. It fits my twin bed. After about 30 years, it is holding up well.

Thank you to the ends of the earth Toni I started crocheting about three months ago and actually tried to make this but I had so much trouble I decided to quit the granny squares and try plushies which I did this whole time now today I finally came back and I actually made a square I know it’s weird but I feel so proud and happy this little square is the start on a small travel blanket I’m going to make ! Thank you again

Thank you for addressing the granny square vortex issue. I have actually seen directions for granny squares that instructed people to not turn their work between rounds and I was so shocked. I have made numerous granny blankies and you definitely need to turn after each row to prevent the natural twist of the stitches from skewing the pattern.
