3D printing human tissue stands to revolutionizing medicine! I got a chance to talk with Kristy Derr of the National Institutes of Health’s NCATS lab about their innovations in 3D printing human tissue for disease research and drug discovery. Discover the precision of bioprinting, from printing blood vessels to building complex tissue structures. This cutting-edge technology could be the key to more accurate drug testing and groundbreaking medical advancements!

Makerbots in your basement. Ah! you wound me with precision strikes
Crying in Prusa
I love how both of them just want to geek out about what they're doing so much.
I'M GETTING MY FORESKIN BACK!!!
Glad I’m not the only one who thought it. Many people would pay lots of money for it.
This is the first comment I see while watching a video about advanced medical technology. Thank you for reminding me that I'm on the internet. I forgot where i was for a moment. Lmao. 😂
This is hilarious lol
Think how successful anyone would be if they found ways to provide options to the men who need help with things. The one's who are tired of the urologist not giving them solutions that solve their problems lol
As a doctor who has a keen interest in engineering, this was a lovely video to watch! You never fail to fascinate us!
"This one time at band camp..." 😂
So glad you're making videos still. Love it.
> You have an immune system....
Me being under immunosuppression
This was fascinating! When you see it happening, it makes it so much more real then just reading about it.
Awesome stuff and awesome video, keep it up!
Interesting! Thanks for sharing it. ✌️
When Strange Parts publishes a video... I watch. Quality over quantity on this channel.
Hell yea he makes very cool and educational videos
Where do the human cells in the bioink come from?
This is staggeringly amazing!
hell yea, science
I love this
I'll have a new ACL please.
I wonder how they would clean the printers in a specialized medicine setting... would there be cross contamination of diseases between different origins of cells?
I can only imagine the brain power in this conference... I would have loved to be there.
1:05 Better Call Saul 😂
This is incredible, not just for drug discovery but for the downstream implications. Wow!
Hi Scotty! Love the videos! Very inspiring! Ive wanted to move to china because of your market videos!
video idea make the latest ipad thinner.?
*Buffalo Bill has entered the chat.
Hope they are trying to print a male prepuce, some people would pay lots of money for it back.
🤣🤣🤣I was having the same thought when the lady was talking about cells doing what they were born to do.
How big can the skin be like mm or already something in the cm range? Like actually some potentially transplant able. Like i’m thinking about people with scared skin
The skin: 😱😱😱
This is genuinely groundbreaking - At some point we won't have to rely on donor organs at all longterm. We can custom print them as needed (hopefully) without the issues of cell rejection and all that. A lung, a heart that is made FOR you based on YOUR unique makeup.
Very perspective technology! Hope we'll get such a device in Ukraine after the war - our wounded brothers in arms needs this badly.
Why get a tattoo, that is so yesterday. 3D print any skin you want.
This shit makes me so giddy for the future of medical sciences. Thanks for this insight, neat stuff.
Oh don’t worry - politics and burocratic red tape will ensure this type of stuff never sees the light of day unless drug companies figure out a way to make trillions off of it.
Very beautiful. Great
at what point does the model just become the thing it's modeling?
Thank you for all your video I've been following you for many many years!!! 👍🏻😁👍🏿🇵🇭🇺🇸🇨🇦
Please report more value important and needed technology that could possibly change today and future, thanks alot
Going to print my clone so he can edit my videos
I miss your videos. Thanks for sharing
I will like a copy of everything that can fail and charge it to my paid insurance
Did some of this at my last job, got a decent prototype of a machine that made a liver. Kinda funky but the owner’s ADHD made it so we never really progressed past that.
How do they get the tissue ?
Fer sure! 💅
The grandma's basement dwellers rejoice!
thats basically the skin outer layer on the terminators. thats technology for producing androids smh!
Don't worry the UK already owns SkyNet :;
@@PiezPiedPy what does that mean, why shouldnt I worry?
@@thefinness7849 You should be worried, but this stuff is absolutely the least of your worries and the last thing you should be worrying about lol
@@pistol0grip0pump i never said i was worried, you said dont worry..
but that is a part of our lives that we must control and not allow who ever has it, to use it to control us. we shouldn't live in worry but we must control whats can be done with it.
@@thefinness7849 Don't worry because the UK can't make anything evolve these days, if Skynet is there, it won't become a threat.
sounds to me like they are 3D printing a mold and then placing the human tissue in them and trusting mother nature to take its course . sounds like planting to me tbh . i mean its cool yes but NOT 3D printing human tissue per say.
Cool, can you print a brain accelerator for my computer ? it can be made from human neurons, for ethical reasons (people don't like testing on animals from other species)
The heroes that do this work are also having the times of their lives. This is the same kind of dedication and enthusiasm that I sensed in the papers written by those who studied the virus that causes COVID-19 and who engineered (essentially for the first time) the amazing vaccines that provide protection against them or at least reduce their impact. It galls me that this time was the time the antis chose to pollute the discussion with all the conspiracy theories and the accusations of ill intentions. This was science at its best, and I for one am eternally grateful to the people who dove in and did this in record time.
good job finding out what they are gonna do to us
Now this is interesting❤
So example: a person with serious burn wounds can have skin printed to his DNA and applied to his body?
Scotty I hope you can go by NCATS for a more in-debt video.
I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING, BUT IT STILL LOOKS COOL!! 🤣
backpacking across Australia is the best joke one that you look back years later and start to smile and giggle, thinking it was an experience i still hold today. what the heck was i thinking, but in the best way, the way that b uilds character
It's incredible to think how normal this will be in only a few years time.
Imagine using 3d printed patches of skin to avoid using living animals for experimentation in cosmetics and checking toxicity of products.
I remember when i was 15 I asked him my science teacher if you would 3D print a human fully like would they have a consciousness or not and he said what the f are you talking about? how would you even do that?
Dear we are waiting eagerly for your videos. Love 💕 from India
Its funny that they are claiming they can print human skin but they are only showcasing what looks like a US flag made out of plastic.
You are like the California Gold Men by the name of Huell Howser but for you it's science. 👍🏻😁👍🏿🇵🇭🇺🇸🇨🇦
Imagine they can print brains
giving 5th eliment vibes i love it
I wonder if with a few mod's it could do Tattoo's also.
So I could have a 3D printed wife? Well then. Sign me up!
I'm a big fan of Strange Parts videos, but this one really disappoints me. I think the Strange Parts team should do more diligence on this topic before publishing videos like this. As a biologist/engineer who has studied this stuff for a decade, I can confidently say these people are spouting bs/nonsense. They don't get real functional blood vessels at all, not even close. They are just lying to themselves, and to you. Bioprinting is not effective. Given the reach of Strange Parts, I worry that this video will just be amplifying the snake oil that is bioprinting even more than it already has been.
Umm… O-Okay then?
Hmm Makerbots are a bit old now. I guess they don’t need to know anything in fdm of today..
By the next decade, they will be printing a beautiful lady out of nothing just like in The Fifth Element Movie! 😇😍🥰
Second
in a couple of years you could possibly preorder your anime girlfriend with custom design for sure🤔
West World. Here we come.
Once again, Scotty is at or above the knowledge of the presenters. A suggestion to save a lot of time for these researchers (and many others): USE. Quit wasting time tongue twisting the word "yoo till eyes" all over, when a perfectly good, more universally understood word exists and has been in use for hundreds of years: "use" !
A bit of advice this civilization needs to take serious, STOP PLAYING GOD!!! Please, or this shit show will get exponentially worse as the seconds are wasted!!! Not an “opinion”.
👁️🦅
Oh boy! Man made horrors beyond my comprehension!

No chance to get pin my comment
I dont have any 3d printer. Shits mad expensive
Sounds like CAP. Why doesn't my 3D prints get up, sing and dance??
