Is it important to know who you were in past lifetimes?

For me it came spontaneously, I wasn't looking for it, or even really believing in its being a reality, but I began having massive flash backs that were completely in arguable, and what they showed me made it possible for my spiritual life to continue, when the odds against me were truly terrible.
Its not that I discovered any particular greatness, rather the opposite, though not a bad or harmful person either, but some very vital insights that brought far greater depths of understanding and perspectives regarding certain issues, and on life in general.

I would very much like to support what is said, the main difference is that I of course had full awareness of the reincarnation and I only recalled what was important for resolution of a few things and a deeper unresolved lingering psychology between many embodiments.
From my general awareness on the subject, if there is no chance you will make use of this memory for good of yourself or others, it would not be revealed or you will be able to recall it, for vast majority such memories can very easily make things worse in their minds considering how people not able to deal with many things from this life time, blissful ignorance of past lives quite important for those who are not ready to take responsibility for their state of consciousness and mind, for those who need in their life time this, they will have it as you can see many so called "not spiritual" people having such memories of at list one life from the past that they then share with other people to inspire others to consider reality of reincarnation.
There is a silly ego driven fascination with reincarnation because people's pride and ego and just impure intentions, dream of some great past embodiment, obviously this means you want to elevate yourself above others by using this "great" memory. Any person who has achieved some Christ consciousness would be very reluctant to reveal or desire such memory unless it can serve some greater good, because there are people who get quite depressed or upset when they hear others have been "great" but they cannot recall anything significant other than being a peasant and again this is just another side of "putting people down" this time on yourself by selfish reasons.
Funny that many such people dream of being in a "great" roles that actually have been outplayed by Fallen Beings 🙃 may be I should say in antichrist consciousness, because Avatars have been outplaying their "great" roles in anti-christ consciousness too.
