Today, we drive a brand new Renault Mégane TCe 100. The 1198 cc four cylinder engine produces 100 hp and 175 Nm of torque.

Hehe in my country this car is cheaper than a VW Polo, Skoda Fabia or a Seat Ibiza, even as a station wagon edition.. And like 10-20.000 euro cheaper than a VW Golf or a Skoda Octavia.. ;) It's only competitor actually is the Opel Astra with the 1.0 engine. And I must say, the Astra is a better car, on almost every single point. Tho' the Megane is more beautiful as the only winning point. ;)

@@tafdiz Was that as a hatchback or as a stationwagon? There is a huge difference on the Megane 5 door and the SportWagon edition, the stationwagon is WAY more comfortable than the 5 door edition. Different suspension etc.. ;)
@@tafdiz They all have the same front suspension, but sedan has the softest rear, followed by sport tourer and then hatchback. Sedan is the most comfortable and most quiet. That's mostly because of the fact that the rear trunk is actually physically separated from the cabin, unlike in the hatchback or sport tourer, so the sedan actually gets far less road noise from the back of the cabin.
It feels so weird to see a Renault car with a regular key, they usually look like a credit card. xD

Hi. Please do you write short review of this engine? Is good choice for this car? Is enough for normal driver? In Czech republic is in standart 1,6 SCE 85kw atmosphere engine, but only with 5-shifts gearbox and in 130 km/h is 3600rpm (quite noisy). Second choice is 100 TCE (600 EUR more) and finaly is 130 TCE (next 600 EUR).

Nobel om de instapmotor te testen, dit zie je niet zo vaak maar waarom geen commentaar bij leveren, bevindingen, soepelheid van de motor, verbruik, enz.
Graag gedaan :). Het is juist onze bedoeling om niets te zeggen tijdens het rijden, zodat onze kijkers de auto als het ware zelf kunnen ervaren (motorgeluid, windgeruis etc). Sites als Autoweek en Autoblog hebben in de meeste gevallen al een heel verslag van de auto, daar kunnen wij weinig waarde meer aan toevoegen. Wel plaatsen we in de beschrijving van de video altijd een link naar de technische specificaties. We geven in de titel ook altijd aan dat er tijdens de rit niet gepraat wordt. Dat is in deze video echter nog niet gedaan zie ik. Ik ga het meteen aanpassen.
How is the road noise?? I have sensitive ears because of hearing damage and I leased a clio before, was soooo loud on the windscreem. Is this better when driving 100-130kmh???

Has this engine enough power? I have megane 3 coupé now with a 1.6 110 HP. They are the same weight but i find it a bit to slow if you want to make speed into a highway.
Its OK i think its quite the Same Power but feels better because of the turbo, i Had the Megane 3 1.6 110 HP and now i have the 1.2 101 tce Megane 4. 5.9 liters consumption after 50 000 km.

My Clio is going to disagree with that. Its proving how easy it is, since i almost never fail to change gear.
I've got the same car with dci 110 engine and the transmission is great. It's not my first Renault and I drive many cars from différents countries (germany, usa, etc) and Renault is very good on this point
