It's impossible to NOT be in the Christmas mood in New York. Some nights, I pick a certain area and just walk around to take in the sights. It's also my favorite time of the year to bar hop with friends.
Central Park is 843 acres and 3.5 square miles.
So difficult to choose between fall and winter as the best time to visit NYC.
Also for comparison, Hyde and Regent's parks in London combined is 339 hectares, almost the exact size of Central Park's 340.
Yes Mike, you’re correct. Macy’s does have a floor 1.5 between the first and second floors. It is the Mezzanine floor but it shows up in the elevator as “1 1/2.”
My daughter went to New York. They had dinner at Tavern on the Green. She said it was amazing. I've been to JFK. Thats as far into New York as I've ever gotten. Lol
The Christmas Carol Play was at the Paramount theater inside Madison Square Garden. I went every year too for years.
Yes, Macy's does have a Mezzanine floor. When I worked there, it was just for employees (lockers, clock in, etc.) After I left they took it over for retail space.
They put a Starbucks and a salon
I've lived in NY my whole life, and I have family from Venezuela/Texas coming up for Christmas week.
I'm going to be doing a lot of this tourist stuff in the next few weeks. 🤣🤣
It will be fun for them though, so it's super cool to watch them experience it. I think I take it for granted because I've seen these places a million times.
As a former New Yorker you can't see it all. Bronx Zoo and other zoo's began having christmas lights in them you can go too. Plaza hotel area is awesome. Dyker Heights.
They recently did a little remodeling to the Rockefeller plaza area. I ❤you guys for pointing out the “extra credit” skater. 😂
Here Be Barr& tomdnyc also have really good channels about NY.
She had GREAT music in her video!
Outside of Central Park, you don't want to be in NYC when it snows - sidewalks are hazardous and it turns into a gross brown slush in the streets within an hour. Much nicer in theory than practice. If you can, avoid school holidays and do late spring or early fall.
NYC is truly one of the world’s great cities, everyone should see it at least once in their lifetime.
Went once. I really like the Met. I thought the subway was amusing.
Besides that, I'll pass.
I don't like crowds, so that surely influences my opinion.
Maybe if you like shitholes.
My parents would take us to Rockefeller Center and Macy's the week after Christmas, it's much less crowded then.
Hope to see you in our beautiful city soon. New York is always special but more so at Christmas
I love NYC during the Christmas season, it’s magical ❤️❤️
September to December is great in NYC. November and December for the holidays and May for Spring. April is great too, but it rains a lot. March 17 is St Patrick's Day.
I love pickles . They sale big ones at the movies here and I always go for them. They are more than just an additive ❤
When I used to work in the Upper East Side, I used to enjoy seeing the local cafes, stores, and brownstones get decorated for the holidays.
I always spent Christmas with my grandparents who lived in Central Florida growing up. I remember one Christmas day that it was around 85F (29C). I kid you not! It was so warm. Everyone was dressed in shorts and short sleeved shirts to open their presents. And my aunt, who loves to fish, went fishing in the afternoon.
Honestly gives you an idea of what it’s like in Australia and New Zealand on Christmas!
@@coyotelong4349 😂 it sure does!
I grew up in Cape Canaveral (where Kennedy Space Center is) and we used to go to the beach around Christmastime every year. The coldest it gets there during Christmas is about 65 F, but often you will see temperatures in the 80s!
The middle of Florida is THE WORST. Honestly I don't know how people enjoy life in that humidity. Small town on west coast of Florida here where the ocean breeze keeps it cool. Part of me misses snow but being anywhere north especially now a days. No thanks 🤣
“Is it (Central Park) that big?” No. It’s bigger.
This was a really nice video. I wish I could go to NYC at Christmas.
I'm such a Grinch when it comes to Christmas. My mother ruined it for me. It's so commercialized and I wind up buying gifts nobody ever liked, receiving gifts I don't use, and then wonder where my money went...
Perhaps if you walked around the city or wherever you live, you’d get into the spirit despite how you previously experienced it. Do a redo on your memories and make new positive ones.
@@hrussell9677 I literally live on Long Island, an hour from NYC. Has nothing to do with where I live. But I get your point.
@@willvr4 I hear that. It's hard for me to get into the Christmas spirit too. Growing up all holidays were full of fighting, freaking out, stress, and my sister always went out of her way to ruin every holiday she possibly could (Christmas, Thanksgiving, B-days...everything 😒). I made a big effort to try to make things jolly for my kid even though it was not very fun for me lol. Now that my kid has been an adult for a few years we quit doing gifts other than a few small things, and just do family dinner and hang out. Plus with my parents being old and divorced, and my sister blacklisted, it's sooo much less stress, is much more enjoyable, and no breaking the bank.
Hello Daz! Huuuge fan of you guys. I worked at Tavern on the Green for 5 years from 2015-2020. Were you there any of those years? Perhaps we crossed paths! Happy Holidays to all of you! 😘😘😘
thanks blokes really enjoyed this
Philadelphia has a German style Christmas market as well
Damn. I go straight to the hood when I visit bc that’s where my Tíos and cousins live. I’ve never experienced the touristy parts in the winter.
Central Park takes up a really big portion of Manhattan. I'm glad they did to break up the greyness. Its hard to imagine like a 140 years ago is nothing like it is today.
Check out the quote, " I just made it to New York City! " 😆
There is a really good hostel on 103 and Amsterdam that cheap like 50 60 a person and you can rent a whole room with bunk beds for a group. They don’t let locals stay there I always used my out of state drivers license it’s like cheating
Enjoyed this one.
I, too, would find a stand with just pickles odd. Never heard of Hawaiian Hot chocolate.
I think Mike was drunk in Macy's 🤔
🤣
No, there is a floor 1.5, it used to be for employees only, but was turned into a mezzanine for extra retail space. You can access it from the elevators.
as a new yorker we don't do none of this just come to NYC for the summer its 100 times better
Daz looks grumpy in this one lol
Pickle me Pete. So good.
INSOMNIA by Faithless playing at the ice skating rink! That's such a cool choice.
My first xmas there i went to Rockefella and thought that the statues at the rink looked like something trump would have on his airplane shitter. This was in the early 2000s so relax.
You should react to the movie Bad Santa.

Has Dave never had a Pickleback? XD
I worked at tavern on the green as a chef de partie!!!!!! 2015
That's so cool. How was your experience there?
If you want to know the real history of Central Park look up Seneca Village.
I eat pickles for supper if I want a light meal. Seriously, we exist Dave.
More family guy reactions!!❤
I heard that the population of Manhattan doubles during the Holidays due to tourism, dunno if that’s true?
Best NYC restaurant in my opinion is the Gotham Grill.
hmmm...no mention of the Rockettes
Baseball Legends That Simply...Aren't True by made to cut.
yall need to react to the eagles giants game cuz dave supports the eagles and daz the giants
The largest Christmas store in the world that is open year round is in Frankenmuth Michigan. This tiny store in the video pales in comparison to bronner's in Frankenmuth. 2.2 acres in size
Thus chick said that like 5 things were "literally her favorite thing" about Christmas in NY
Christmas in NYC is pretty and exciting. My favorite Christmas city has to be Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Did you just compare Christmas in Santa Fe to NYC? Lmao.......
first, we feast

She was cute even being vegan, lol. Dill pickles are good for cotton mouth after a night of drinking. NYC is amazing, but now days, you have to step over those living on the streets and pick pockets.
No different from Paris then lol

I live in the West Village. Seriously, it's the best village. My rent check says so anyway - $4k for 350 sqft (33 sq m). I live on the same block as the 'Friends Apartment' from the show 'Friends', a couple doors down from Central Perk. No, you shouldn't come take pictures of it. F-ing tourists.
Meh...dirty snow and trudging around.
Meh… shut up

My daughters live in Belgium - they send me pics of Christmas time in Europe. I believe Europe has the richest "spirit of Christmas" around.
Really I wouldn't think any country would beat the US in Christmas??
@@bcbritt777places like Belgium and Germany do it pretty well.
@@DynamiteProd wow good to know. I'll have to check those places out for travel ideas
@@bcbritt777 I haven't been to, but places Like Nuremburg and Dresden Germany's Christmas Market's look amazing.
@@sjd5750 going to Canada for Christmas this year. Definitely have to consider these places now for future Christmas vacations 😁
you gotta shave those eyebrows
New York can really put you in the christmas mood, as long as you can ignore the horrible smell, abundance of homeless people heckling you, the rats and a relatively high chance of getting robbed. It's great otherwise.
Christmas used to be great in NY , It hasn't been Magical in at least 15 years , Online shopping changed the vibe amd energy. No more Pedo Santa's at Macy's and people don't decorate their windows and homes Like it was when I was a kid.
Hey! First!
that was 22 minutes of my life I'll never get back
I have no use for New York or any other Big Shiddy in America no matter what the time of year. I'll take Christmas at the Biltmore Estate over a Big Shiddy any day.
Shut up
Best thing to do in NYC is leave.
Shut Up
If you are a boring person
The best thing you could do is not go to New York.
You kidding? It’s by far America’s greatest city. It’s not even close.
@@MovieGuy808 I would argue Boston is the best. It's very similar to NY without all the crime, crazies, and is a much more comfortable size. NY is #2 😉😋 (maybe I am speaking out of little brother complex) Just friendly rivalry banter.
@@user-lf7nf3kl7t NYC at least has happy hour.
@@rath7948 Yea, you got me there. And some towns in Mass are still dry towns with no liquor stores only two beers allowed in restaurants.
We can make our own happy hour tho 😅
@@user-lf7nf3kl7tBoston is wonderful. I’ve visited several times. But in terms of being a global metropolis, New York City is on a different level. Boston is a great American city though, no doubt.
Best thing you could do in NY is find the nearest airport and leave.
Shut up
