My eyes totally watered during this scene. I think up to this point her friend didn’t realize that she was someone important to woo young. She probably felt bad that she wanted to be woo young’s friend during university but didn’t know if the feeling was mutual because unfortunately it is the nature of this condition. Like she said once, she always tried to help woo young but in the end woo young seemed like she didn’t really need her. Now she knows that she actually made an impact to woo young and that it was a positive impact. This was such a warm scene I loved it.

Yes. The compliments Young Woo gave were about her character. Her personality. Girls usually get compliments on their looks, not for who they are; which gives them the wrong message that they should only focus on the external appearance. It's very rare for a girl to be complimented for her inner beauty. Your inside is what you should focus on the most because you want people to like you for who you are. Not what you look like.

This kdrama set a new standard for second female lead. This scene really cemented Su Yeon's friendship with Young Woo because this is when she realized that looking out for Young Woo has not been in vain. By the end of the series, I love just how protective Su Yeon gets of Young Woo. It feels like she has maternal instincts for her. Also, the part where she steps aside and gets out of Jun Ho and Young Woo's way was amazing. Not just because Jun Ho and Young Woo are the end game but also because she deserves better than pining for a man who would never look at her the same way. Su Yeon was my favorite in the series.

This is my favorite scene and the reason I kept watching the series. Female friendships are not uncommon in kdramas but female camaraderie is. In fact, female camaraderie is virtually non-existent in most medias and when they are portrayed they are so shallow. But here you have a very platonic but extremely heartfelt and pure interaction between two characters that could have been shown as toxic as most medias do. Here su-yeon does something kind as a fellow human being without expecting anything in return and young-woo also returns that with something genuine and beautiful. An unique nickname with deep meaning. Not some generic ditzy thing.

  • @Shawnasart76597

Su Yeon is a kind person but I think part of the reason she started tearing up is because at times she definitely resented Young Woo. You can see it in the first episode, when she calls Young Woo dumb for going through the rotating door- she doesn't want to be concerned about her but can't help it because she is a good person. It can be really special when someone who doesn't seem to notice the things you do for them reveals that they do and in fact they think really highly of you because of it.
This is why in the next episode we can see Su Yeon taking Young Woo to the mall and being happy with her. She knows that Young Woo is not oblivious to her as a person, and wants to engender a genuine friendship between them now. She is actually treating her like anyone else, because she finally saw Young Woo as a whole person when Young Woo showed that she saw her as a whole person.

  • @antoniojcarrascoalvarez2526

I get tears from this scene no matter how many times I’ve seen it. It’s such a simple scene but the setup to this was amazing.
    1. Suyeon has shown she was envious of Youngwoo since she can’t beat her in law school/at work.
    2. When Suyeon helped Youngwoo, she sometimes does it in frustration (like when she helped her at the revolving door).
    3. Even so, she continues to help Youngwoo and at 5 episodes, she’s the one who’s asked the most times if Youngwoo has eaten.
    4. There was an episode where Youngwoo’s dad said living with a kid with autism felt a little lonely because his efforts seem to be ignored often. But here’s Youngwoo, unprompted, expressing she’s grateful (albeit indirectly).
    5. Because Suyeon’s salient feeling towards Youngwoo was envy, she didn’t realize her own kindness until she’s been told about her actions’ effect. This was the inner conflict that was bursting at the seams, and Ha Yoon Kyung acted this out superbly. I think it’s easier to act out crying than act out holding back the tears. That’s a lot of control.

awww i teared when suyeon got so touched and taken aback by woo young woo seeing her inner beauty and recognising all her little acts of kindness, and in turn giving her such a sincere and sweet nickname!
and that said tbh idk why ppl had the impression that suyeon was mean or didnt like her cos i found her to be kind and nice from the start.. like in ep 1 when woo young woo introduced herself to the boss in her unique way she did not laugh or make fun of her, instead she tried to give her advice to help her fit in.. and the scene with the revolving doors its obvious to me that suyeon said what she said out of exasperation cos she cared like if she didnt care she could have easily walked off just like everyone else who walked past her and didnt care to help..also the scene where suyeon laments abt falling behind cos she helped woo young woo was realistic imo.. kind ppl can be competitive too and they can feel envious or negative when outcompeted or when they compare themselves to others etc cos these are normal human emotions/responses but the point is that she never let those feelings stop her from being kind and helping woo young woo even if she knows it doesnt benefit her in any way or even put her at a disadvantage esp in the field of law where it is so competitive..and thats really kindness imo! so yeah i hope suyeon and woo young woo bond continues to grow stronger!

When you least expect it, you are acknowledged as a warm and caring human being... and that all the good things you do, did not go unnoticed. This was such a touching scene between these two. I agree with the majority: Su Yeon is definitely a wonderful & supportive friend to Woo. I was so glad they didn't make her into the cliche evil, jealous second female lead. She also deserved her own happiness.

This character is great but what’s even better is how the actress portrayed it: the surprise surprise, her being genuinely touched by Woo’s comments, superb acting.

CANNOT wait for tomorrow when EP6 comes out and they battle a case together, EP5 got a bit depressing at the end but I'm more than hyped for the 2-girl lawyer combo coming up haha

That the most honest person you know tells you something like that, with all those details, must be very moving.

And this is the moment in the drama where the friendship between these two went even deeper. Suyeon realized that Yeongwoo was being genuine when she said those kind words to her, that’s why she got emotional. How she described her as such was true to heart and she meant every bit of it. I love this interaction between them so much ♥️

you just can't help but cry because every word youngwoo used to describe her as spring sunshine suyeon is so sincere and heartwarming. Honestly we all just crave for someone who'll say something like that to us.

Amazing! The two females are incredible! Did you see them shed tears when Park went up to receive her award? Precious!

In the first episode, Choi Su-yeon said Kwon Min-woo that Woo-young woo's nickname in law school was "First place again Woo-young woo. It hurts me whenever I look at her. I would help her out because I felt bad seeing how clumsy she was- hence I fell behind everyone and she would come first" Later, in the same episode she stopped the revolving door for Young-woo and asked her "Are you an idiot?".
Although she helped her, she was still jealous of her intelligence. I love this scene because this transformed Su-yeon's heart and she realized that all the little things she did for Young Woo were a big deal for her and what Young woo thinks of her. I think this scene cemented their friendship and made her realize that her jealousy was just petty.
This scene is so powerful that there was a big development in her character and then she started protecting her more. She stood for her when Min-woo posted the anonymous "fraudulent hiring practice at Hanbada" on the Hanbada bulletin board, she warned Young Woo about "Tactcian Min Woo", she even supported Jun-ho and Young-woo's love, also told Jun Hoo not to hurt Young woo's feeling, when Jang Seung-jun removed Young Woo from the case she persuaded Min-woo to take a stand for Young-woo etc.
I love her and this scene. We can learn from this scene that no matter how small a gesture is (maybe it doesn't mean anything to us), it might a big deal for someone.

Best compliment ever heard. I never know we could call anyone as the sunshine on a spring day. It's the most beautiful day and yeah that's nickname is really true to her.

This scene straight up made me cry. Especially because up until this point Suyeon thought her efforts were totally unappreciated and that Youngwoo didn't need her help at all. She thought it was all in vain, and yet couldn't stop herself from trying to help anyway, but she thought she was silly for doing so. And it's only in this moment that she realises that Youngwoo had noticed and been grateful for her kindness all long. ♥️

I had tears in this scene,Young woo certainly has a very straight way of appreciating someone and I think soo Yeon was taken aback for a moment, she couldn't process she meant so much to Young woo.

This goes to remind us that, we have no idea what kind of lifelong impact we're making on someone's life.....whether good or bad with our actions.
