  • Introducing the PKS Kephart Camp Master Edition. Pathfinder School Instructor Matt Mercer of the BlackHat Bushcraft channel discusses the design of the knife and demonstrates various tasks using it as well. The Camp Master has an overall length of 9" over 4 inch blade. The handle design allows you to grip the knife in a variety of ways with comfort and stability. The Kephart Camp Master will arrive razor sharp right out of the box.

It's a shame they discontinued the 4" blade 1/8 spine kephart...... hopefully they make it again, everyone loved that knife!

I bought the first addition of the PKS Kephart Knife as a birthday present to myself in September of 2015. I have since given that knife to my younger Brother in Feburary of 2016 and switched to carrying the PLSK1. I carried that till Janurary of 2020, when I bought the PKS Survival Knife. I have carried that every day since. I chose the Black Micarta handle scales to go with the "Dirty By Design" look of the blade. Most definitely my favorite knife to carry.

It has been a while. Glad to see you back. I have 3 PKS knives and they are awesome. There should be no reason that this knife wouldn't be just as good. PKS does a fine job. I noticed that even though the scales are flat on the sides there is a bit of a swell to them that should aid in being comfortable in the the hand. Thanks for the review.

Matt, that was a great presentation of that knife. And I’m glad you’re the one that did it because there’s some people doesn’t need to be representing products in this fashion when they have a personality of a towel.

I still love 1095. I don't know if it is because of its legitimate value or if it is simply nostalgia. Every knife I had as a young fella had a carbon steel blade.

My one issue is the constant change of knife models. You guys keep removing and changing models that don’t need changing. The original kephart you guys released was perfect! Please bring back the survival knife in its original configuration! It deserves to be a staple.

im no expert, but i did some research because i want to build my own one. the blade shape does not resemble a kephart, and a scandi is also a no go. same on your nesmuk knife. i think thiese special knives are not so multiuse like the original because of the scandi.
im sure they are both nice knives or woodworking, but not a kephart or nesmuk at all

Knives should come with a sheath. Period. Can buy an Esee 6 right now for $175 with a KYDEX sheath. Esee 4 in 1095 is $143 with a sheath and all lifetime warranty on everything. All in for a comparable product when you add a $40 sheath is more. I’m sorry but for my money I’ll be spending it elsewhere. Change your steel and charge around the same then maybe but for 1095 wood handles and no sheath standard? No thanks. It’s gotta come with at least a basic sheath…come on…this is an outdoorsman tool for fuck sake. This isn’t a kitchen knife you can just throw in a universal knife block or on a magnet block. Charge $10-$20 extra and throw in a basic molded sheath on all your knives. The investment of kydex presses and heaters will pay for itself over time. If you’re already pumping out knives in mass the. Pump out sheaths with them at a slightly above premium. Sorry but I want a kydex option and especially for carbon steel knives. Kydex drys and drains. Leather holds moisture and will rust a knife way worse over time after it’s soaked. Drying a knife and kydex is way easier.
