#Review #DyingLight2 - Hry
Hey, i completed the game with everything done except the collectibles, in about 51 hours. If anyone is reading this, that has just got the game and hasn't started yet, do not rush through the story. Get to the point with the glider and then explore. It is way more fun exploring before completing the story as the story impacts the world.
Took me 350
One advice I'd give is to max out stamina. It's more important for traveling and some of the windmills actually have stamina requirement to unlock.
Plus more stam helps in combat anyway
Yeah, sometimes you unlock a new area, then you look at the windmill and see a stamina requirement of 500, and if you allocated your inhibitors in a balanced way, you're just never going to get that windmill.
Agree, I got to Stamina 10 and Health 5 on Hard and combat was a bit tough but you're climbing so much that it's worth it. Also, fighting with high stamina helps too
If you know how to use the grappling hook parkour stamina doesn’t matter. There isn’t a single windmill/military crate you can’t get to without max stamina. Even without the grappling hook creative use of tic tac and far/wall jump can get you to places *way* above your stamina level. Think outside the box
@@a.g.m8790 You get the grappling hook so late in the game that it doesn't matter. By that point I have already unlocked most mills etc.
Great review, I'm near the end of the story myself and agree with a lot of your points. I'm really enjoying the parkour and I think the city is well designed for it, you can see a lot of great lanes ahead as you start running and it feels good to improvise a route and land all the jumps and ledge grabs.
Ok but?
“The city is well designed for parkour” THE GAME MAP IS DESIGNED FOR THAT
@@killuazoldyck6852 call of duty maps are designed to be great shooter areas, doesn’t mean they make good maps. You can have a game based around combat and the combat sucks. You can make a motorcycle game and have bad motorcycle physics. It still needs to be made well
This game was really underwhelming. Had potential but fell short significantly
@@tommymc7535 no.
My biggest issue with the game is the removal of the previous weapon system No longer do you scavenge and come across nails and a bat , allowing you to craft a nail bat.
Now we have premade weapons with gem slots.
It feels like dead rising 2 but all the weapons you could craft were already made. But hey you can set it on 🔥 or maybe some ⚡.
I see a lot of people complaining about that personally I don’t have an issue with it only thing I wish is that you could repair weapons and scavenge useless items if you need to but I guess selling everything gives you a lot of fucking money
@@pleaced748 korok charm for durability
One thing to remember is that Techland does have a past history supporting games well beyond the norm. Makes me wonder what this game will look like in, say 2 years. Good review and good vid
Yeah they they plan to support this game for atleast 5 years
Idk why people expect any different dying lights last big update was 2021 thats 6 years of support not to mention they still do events for it so I'd say 7 years
I mean... about long time support. Today 28.02.2022 came a big update for Dying Light 1 to give it crossplay compatibility with versions in other stores or consoles.
If they plan on supporting this game for 5 years that makes sense why it's taking weeks and weeks for patches to drop, they got all the time in the world...
@@benicus18 pc has gotten a patch basically every other week its only console that get updates after 2-3weeks because on console the update has to be verified by Sony or Microsoft which takes about a week or so
Came to this channel through your divinity content and the rate at which you're able to produce quality content is just insane.
I wish you many more subscribers.
I enjoyed the first Dying Light more. This game felt more like a Ubisoft game. The RPG mechanics really hurt the game imo. It either creates artificial difficulty when you try to do a stealth takedown and headshots doesn't even 1 shot. And you can become OP really fast for some areas. Just doesn't make sense when you can 1 shot zombies in 1 area but struggle to kill the same type with headshots only in another area. The first game's balancing was better. And I hardly felt like I needed to make use of the environment to kill zombies. In the first game, I would ALWAYS use the spikes.
Yeah, the RPG elements just dont work at all.
Its not that that cant work, its that there is 0 balance and no use for it. Past few few hours you will outlevel the locations, the gear stats are worthless and there weapons you find scale to your level.
And the way you can outlevel everything trivializes the game even on HARD to the point i woukd say "hard" was more like "very easy".
The game is only balanced at level 1, when you only have 5 minutes in dark zone, need multiple hits to kill enemies and you die in few hits, but when you are level 7-9 and you 1 hit kill zombies, can spend 20 minutes in the dark and take no demage from zombies the game loses any tension.
I agree that the stealth aspect makes no sense but imo rpgs are superior when it comes to single player games. Just felt like they could have done the rpg aspect better or just scrapped it altogether. Like the skill trees are horrid and once i got half the skills i didnt even care about the rest cause they dont really add anything gameplay wise other than grappling an opponent or something stupid. I really didnt give a shit about anything other than inhibitors cause they actually make you stronger, which is what ppl go for in rpgs(making their character stronger).
I can agree with this criticism. I thought some aspects were WAY better. Nights felt more dangerous imo, and traversal was amazing. I think I liked the game overall more then the first. Again just my opinion.
DL2 Felt more scary??? You must be on drugs 24/7 or you are just slamming your head on the keyboard to write such a travesty...@@AEGISDEFENSE
You're gonna blow up eventually, dude. Your reviews are impressively informative and succinct
I’ve hardly ever used fast travel…Running to and from both play areas is so fun
Great way to get parkour upgraded 😂

@@deadnorth8648 haha yep! Ah DL2 was fun, I put in 200 hours, but then it was time to open Elden Ring, everything has collected dust since. 326 hours in on Elden Ring so far 😂😅 amazing game!!!
i love Dying Light 1 + the Expansion, but I'm a bit dissapointed from Dying Light 2. Dont get me wrong tis a very good game but compared to what the frist game was dissapointing. The skill tree is very small i wish the skill tree where bigger and so we have way more chocies. The city detail is reduced compared to the E3 2019 city there where more details and the overall tone was better. The combat animations are ok but in dying light 1 it feels better. And more dynamich stuff liek ond ay life onsthe streets and so on like in the E3 2019 BBuild. I hope they expand the skill tree and fine tune stuff and expand the city not in scope but in detail like the E3 2019 build was and bring back the dynamich event stuff like a trial on the streets and so on. And the faction stuff feels not so great take building give it one faction get stuff done, wasted potenzial. I hope Techland have the courage to do this kind of stuff so we get a overall better game and a truly worthy Dying Light 2
Very good review!! Thank you. Only thing is with me, I didn’t realize there weren’t enough inhibitors to fully max out Stam and health and I’ve been using them equally.. I hope it’s not too late so that I have to restart for the 3rd time especially when I’m over 30+ hours into my 4th play through and haven’t completed the game bc of bugs or poor decisions on my part lol. I definitely appreciate the tips, review and definitely earned a new subscriber 🤟🏼
Great review Mortie !! Great insights and i love how objective you are!
Love your style, keep it up! I hope to see your channel continue to grow :)
Great review. I'll pick this up at some point when there's not 100 different game distracting me. Hope this video catches the algorithm it's full of good information and answers questions a lot of people are probably wondering about.
Btw your player rank is based on the number of parkour or combat skills you have unlocked. It is not directly effected by the number of stat increases you have, however the skills do require a minimum of the corresponding stat to unlock.
That was a quick video, thanks for the hard work!
16hrs in and dying light 2 is so dope omg I cant stop playing loving it
Most annoying glitches I’ve experienced:
1. Every time I die to a human the fight/chase music never stops
2. Not able to climb anything
3. Grappling hook doesn’t grab onto anything
4. Closed/open doors wouldn’t let me through
5. No sound
6. Switching outfits for no reason
7. Characters won’t talk to me when their supposed to
8. Death loop
So yeah this is the things I’ve experienced the most. Because of these bugs I’ve held off on finishing/playing the game even though I’m 2 missions from the end.
22:17 never heard this word before, thanks for increasing my vocabulary.
Fantastic review. I think I will start a new playthrough on DL1. My favorite things about the first game are toned down for this one.
As soon as I finished DL2, the first thing I did was reinstall DL1. Felt sooo good to be back in Harran. lolol
My most egregious bug so far is the Sky Box turning to mud and having some weird brown texture smeared all over it. The patch from yesterday seemed to clear it up though. I did just made it to Lawan last night
Great vid. I'm about 60% through I think, but I'm getting to the point where I just wanna power through the story and be done...I don't ever 100% games so I'm not worried about finding every single thing. The reused asset thing really hit me when I went through multiple GRE facilities in a short time, and realized they were all pretty much identical...I also stopped trying to be sneaky and just go in and burn the whole place down lol And as far as human enemies, once you get a good bow they're trivial. One tiny little thing that bugs the hell out of me...is anytime you are in a survivor controlled area...they play that lilting little tune that reminds me of Final Fantasy victory music...over...and over...and over.
I really enjoy your channel. Keep up the good work. I like the deep dives that you give in each review. I had no idea there was a full gear progression in dying light 2 and I've seen several reviews on the game already. Are you planning to cover elex 2?
Yes, I reviewed the first Elex a while ago to get ready for it
@@MortismalGaming you should do a Review of assault spy best anime spectacle fighter ever and it was done by one man
Very good review as usual !
I actually love the second one more. But haven't got as far as the people having all the glitches. I loved your comparisons and agree with a lot of your points. I am playing Dying Light and 2 Stay Human. I like them both but feel the first also is much harder. If you want a harder sometimes more frustrating experience you'll love Dying Light plus one thing that wasn't mentioned. I believe they did away with your invisible running stamina from Dying Light. In 2 you can run forever without getting tired. As you ran in Dying Light your screen would get darker as you ran out of energy to run, though this did not effect your stamina for swinging weapons. In Dying Light 2 I believe you can sprint forever basically making parkour faster and more fluid. I mean as you level your agility up in the first you were able to run further and further, longer and longer. Thought it was worth a mention, something I noticed.
I don't think you can't sprint at all, there are abilities you can unlock under the stamina skill tree that functionally act like sprint that DO cost stamina, Dart and Dash IIRC,
otherwise, you move at the same speed when moving no matter what you press if you don't have those abilities unlocked (at least on keyboard on PC, but I don't know why that would be different on console, mechanically?) I was trying to adjust to the different parkour system coming out of DL1 just before this game released and I was constantly holding shift for no reason. cheers c:
Very well explained i subscribed thanks I loved dying light one props the best zombie game ever made I m going to wait a couple months before getting number 2
Uh, not sure if this was mentioned but the first game definitely does have fast travel - the posters inside the tower(s) in each region allow you to teleport to and from them. Its not as diverse and specific as this game, but it was there
Also i agree the renegades "redemption" fell a bit flat, but you gotta remember there are "two" factions of the renegades, one lives under someone, the others go out and terrorize.
7:31 they changed some aspects of co op in this game,if you join someone and do a story mission, the progress dont save for you, just for the host, you only keep the items and levels, you have to do the mission in your world too.
Nice!! New sub nearby. Maybe the 500 hrs is including the 2 story dlc's??? 🤔 regardless I just subbed. Nice video.
Excellent review.
The story felt really really weak. The first game was not a gem when it came to story but compared to this it's a masterpiece. The colour scheme also feels off but I cannot quite put my finger on why.
Nah that story was really weak as well...
One thing I love about techland is they listen to the community’s feedback and they do and will make changes scores to see where the gam ends up tho.
I had alot of fun. I do suggest leaving most of the side quests until after you beat the main story. It's nice after you complete the story because everything will scale to you.
Dont you get locked out of side quests if you wait too long
@@hitzkooler15 yooo that's what I wanna know bro...what have you heard?

Wow it hasn't even been 500 hours since Dying Light 2 came out.
enjoyed the review, felt very informed and solid based on my playthru as well. I agree, the re used assets (especially the human models good god), the likeness of the actress instead of creating a unique character with her voice over only, and the combat feeling less weighty were all issues I identified as well. Great game tho and not as awful as people are seemingly making it out to be. People tend to forget that techland studio is actually very small and not a AAA studio pumping out their yearly release.
But techland is a AAA studio lol? Google it; they literally put it in their description. This game is unbecoming of a AAA studio and a let down to DL1.
@@peterg6953 that's unfortunate you feel that way. i'm very happy with my purchase and have gotten plenty of enjoyment out of the game.
@@JustinCasualGaming
Your right they're not a AAA studio.
However, they choose to present themselves as one.
So now they will be judge as one.
Another great review, appreciate it… I think I will play it while I wait for Elden ring
I have been enjoying your videos a lot and noticing my taste starting to lead more towards your opinion of games, I don’t mens to be weird but I sent a friend invite on steam if that’s alright.
Are a lot of the collectibles only reachable during story mission? or can i get without doing much story
Hey man, off topic, but i would love to see you playing the dlc for Wotr tomorrow on live, would be great !
It got delayed to March 3rd
Very well done review vid👍, sorry im a new sub
One thing about stealth takedowns, as far as I could see Aiden can only effective stealth kill enemies at the same or lower rank, at least the strangle takedown, the knife takedown perk I haven't tested it.
I think you can get the higher rank enemies with the stab takedown
Seems like more of a guide/tutorial/explanation of how the game works, which is good, but I just wanted to know if it was fun. Like reviews do. But seriously great info
I got a game-breaking bug, about 10-20 hours into the game. I died during a main mission, and it respawns me outside of a closed door (a door which closed behind me before dying). The enemies I had to kill to continue the mission were behind this closed door and there is no way to complete the mission, effectively locking me out of continuing the game.
thank you for the review, I will wait a few months before purchasing the game.
Man, I love your content. Keep up the great work...
Sent you a Steam invite ✌
I like this mic quality. There’s just something about it that feels nostalgic or homey or something else idk
You can max both in a single playthrough, you just need to do it using co-op. Join a game where the host chose the other path, and you can get all 126 inhibitors.
I'm playing this game since day one. And only today I met Lawan. Am in the tunnel now.
I did not have any bugs until the last patch the day it happened my game went to crap and everything was buggy AND it cost me the Crossbow. I unlocked it then after it showed the icons I went to the inventory and it was not there I restarted a bit after and it was still not there and no blueprint Right after one of my cities reverted from PK to not assigned you needed 7 to unlock it I had 7 when I came back it was 6 and I had to re do that but I did get the bolt blueprints as a nice reminder of the experience so.....
At 9:50, how did you get so many faction unlocks? I only managed to get 2 for the peacekeepers and 6 for the survivors before running out of facilities to assign.
I think it was a bug honestly, I noticed I kept getting the survivor unlocks even when I picked Peacekeepers
@@MortismalGaming Strange, a while ago I got the final survivor perk even though it shouldn't have been possible anymore. But I'm not complaining, I wanted to get all survivor perks on one save and all peacekeeper ones on another so I was bummed since I couldn't get the final one.
I haven’t bought the game yet is it worth to play ? Many people said too many bugs on it
You're a freaking machine 100 percenting such a new game and getting out a 30 minute review. This game is for sure not for me, but great review.
Things that i wish i did. I wish i gave the bazaar to the Survivors, because it becomes a ghost town if you choose PK. I would’ve given the radio tower to Frank because he saves more people if you do. And last, i wish i killed the general/commander with lawon at the end and released the dam water so i could’ve explored the sunken city.
upgrading mods and accessories would've been painful if i didn't have a pile up spot when the chases happen other wise you have to choose what you want to upgrade specifically. 100 hours is spot on for completing everything. but it gets a little boring after 50-70 hours.
How did you get bootlicker? Been bugged for me for two playthroughs now. Also I'm at 112 hours in and no ultramarathon yet, any tips?
Bootlicker is just touchy, seems just very inconsistent in general. I got it normally but Ive seen people saying it doesnt work and others getting it randomly in co-op etc. ultramarathon you can just farm by running back and forth around the map
I have a terrible bug where the quest conversation would mute or not show the subtitles. A pain
My advice for people on PC, download the I am legion mod..makes the game harder but it feels like you’re playing Dying light 1. Nights are terrifying, loads more zombies and the game is much more fun overall.
Im at 201h 37m 45s for my first playthrough, havent finished the game yet but with this i will note i havent done the dark hollows, stores, alot of the metro’s and missed alot of quests/inhibitors etc. am i a great player? No. Im not claiming to be. Although with that said ive explored alot, tried to get to places that werent available at the time without grapel/etc. so take it as you will. I personally have been enjoying my time. Im running on old gen, only having a few bugs : frame drops but has to do with getting to an area with a paraglider super fast and the game was unable to load everything properly and this with a few little ones i just quit and restarted the game. The only “game breaking” is after the “Black widow” sidequest i have been unable to talk to the person for other quests, she disappears even when quitting and restarting. Its a good game, i have faith that most of the bugs will be fixed and i even tried going back to the first game by just loading in my completed game and walking/moving around feels so slow and bulky compared to 2.
I so hope for a New Game +, just makes it much easier for Solo Players to get most of the achievements.
Awesome review like always.
The reused asset's are a real letdown. No unique quarantine zones with a special history..
I hope they fix the "sound vanishing, skipping all dialogue" bug on XSX fast
After 2 saves 1 thats 100% max gear 9 with everything upgraded. And 1 save where i keep the zombie lvl at 6 with less skill points used and emptied the gear farm area and thats the most funn save and i love the boosters in the game with the medic gear and my tank gear is a waste as I can't fint the heavy duty knuckles but the day I fint them I'll go back to tank gear. Funn game if you like just messing around and farming
That double kick is uncanny - apparently Aiden can perform a chest high kick with both feet without a running start AND without losing any height (the camera barely sways downward, no more than 20 cm). Is he a centaur of some kind? Does he have two additional legs, just for kicks, stashed snuggly under his jacket, Total Recall-like?
He is basically superhuman so I guess he’s allowed to do it lol.
He kangaroo
Dying Light was a lot more fun than Dying Light 2. I didn't like how it kills you by being outside at night. They made the night time a lot less scary than it was in the first game. Night time in DL1 was frightening. In DL2 I basically just skipped the night time. I liked how there were "2 parts" in the first game, between the first city and second city. Wish they hadn't changed the grappling hook to what it is in the 2nd game. Not a fan of it and almost never used it unless I had to. Likewise with the parachute.
I have played 68 hours of the game and have only done 7 Main story quests.
The main reason why i don't like the second game - "stay human" system. I prefer stealth and running around random places, but in this game you have to run from one UV to another or take care of prolongators. It is so fucking annoying. I didn't kill zombies one by one, trying to be carefull in silence, istead i rushed towards them without any stealth. I didn't explore the city in fear, i just did fucking parkour since first city run. Running in rush is not "i'm not afraid of zombies anymore" - it is "zombies are not as scary as the countdown".
Except that:
- questinable UI
- prohibited jumps in some safe areas (just why?)
- light nights
- too many markers on the screen
- bygone minimap (great place for those markers) and weapon repairs
- chill while hanging now costs stamina
- MC positioned as "better, faster, stronger" than ordinary people, but can't climb a wall while his buddy can and moaning almost all the time
- scarriest zombies not that scary anymore, and they are just don't exist in the wild
- screamers don't babbies anymore (just sad)
- survival sense find all zombies, even ordinary walkers, and highlighting not that long or doesn't has short enough cooldown (it was a little bit annoying to use)
- there are various dialog options, but that's a scam, dialogs in the first game were like watch a good cinema, now they are just an poor rpg dialogs.
It is a pretty generic game, but an awful sequel.
Good vid.
Why didn’t they put in a guard system. I hate how the human enemies can block forever. If I’m hitting you with a 2 handed megahammer and you’re blocking with a sword I should be able to brake your guard. Anyways I just picked up the game for $30 and I’m happy with it (I’m only 3 hours in) this is how it should be done imo. Wait for the bugs to get fixed, wait for “phase 2” when they drop the price and add some free shit to get the ppl that saw through the hype to buy. And you’re solid. I did preorder elden ring and that was good because I like blind playthroughs on fromsoft games but that’s a different animal all togeth
Man I wanted to get this on PS5 since my PC is a bit outdated but the 1080p cap on performance mode is so low res for my 4k screen :(
More positive than I expected. I will wait for a sale, but it's nice to hear at least some of the story is interesting and has some interesting lore behind it. I do find it odd when celebrities in a game become such a large focal point, but glad this worked better than Cyberpunk's release with Keanu.
I enjoyed Keanu’s character in 2077 the story focus was never my issue with that game.
The game has 126 inhibitors, that is more than enough to level up your health and stamina to high levels, I used 40 so far and Im 300 stamina and 240 health
I feel like the 500 hours is every choice for even the side quests that they have for dialogue
Im still enjoying DL1. Afraid to try 2 on my ps4
I don't know bro. I have run into countless bugs were the enemy freeze or the heads contort when I hit them. It is fun but flawed for me
Playing Dying Light feels like playing with plastic explosives, playing Dying Light 2 feels like playing with playdough.
I overcame every major bug. It sort of feels like a quest in and of itself. An experience lived only until a patch is made. What I loved most was finding ways to exploit access to areas that said I had not enough energy or the right skills in general to get to. I don't, however, like the fact I've beaten the game and yet I still don't have the first two trophies literally given to you as participation trophies just for the main story. Stupid glitch. But I love it still like a red-headed step child.
lol same. i played since release but my windmill trophy and the story trophy with defending fhe fish eye didnt pop up, hopefully they will fix it but if they won't, I'll play again. Then i can catch up with the dialogue missed by the dialogue glitch too lol
For me repetition of places was something that was so annoying at the end I couldnt bear. Not just way points but GRE, windmills, homes, powerplants, safe zones, places with loot and probably more... And last but most important story was soo blant and irritating there was nothing interresting after a 10-20 hours. The biggest shock to me was a most boring repetition of 1. chase 2. those strong zombies... same crap all the time and i mean exacly the same repetition.
Lack of guns killed it for me I’m a shooter lover so I stopped right after I found guns weren’t gonna be around unfortunately
i was going for 100% until two safe spots glitched out and i wasn't able to activate them.
Replaying this on hard showed me how little they cared about balancing the game on the hard difficulty. Fighting 3 PKs or certain bosses feels broken, when you’re hit once they hit you 3 more times and kill you before you can get up
Co-op, they've limited crossplay between original xbox and series s/x
In my opinion 100% on dying light means everything is maxed your grappling hook paraglides shit even ur throwing knifes bandages all that have the max tier loot (maybe) and have no side quest or any undiscovered locations and have all skills max inhibitors and have even all the parkour and combat challenges completed gold after all that without glitches it could take 500 hours fs
So I play Dying Light, and Dying Light 2, to be honest they kinda struggle to hold my attention.
Dead Island on the other hand, that beautiful game despite its flaws held my attention throughout. I just feel like Dying Light is missing some of the cooler aspects that made Dead Island great.
I am in awe that you can manage to 100% so many games. I can't fathom some one being that good at games. Do you ever play competitive games?
Not really
I can't even get up the cliff at the beginning I'm pissed
Looking forward to the Horizon review
Can anyone tell me how he has six facilities for the peacekeepers and four for the survivors. I thought the max was four for each faction?
A bug I think, it kept giving me survivor upgrades even when I picked peacekeepers
If they make a sequel I hope they make it so you can build your own settlement from zero
Have they patched any bugs yet?
I'll buy the enhnced edition 4-5 yrs later when I get a better gaming laptop. I doubt my GTX 1050ti can handle this now
Has the bugs been fixed? Can I buy game yet
