    This is why "conservative humor" fails: it depends on you have absolutely no understanding or knowledge of historical context. Yes, Chamberlain signed treaties with Hitler in an effort for peace. BUT he knew that Britain was in no condition for a war, and the people didn't want a war if it could be helped at all. He signed the treaty, and then got to work on rebuilding the British military. He bought a year of peace that helped Britain for when things really got hard. Chamberlain was a good man in an impossible situation.
