Union Pacific & BNSF Across North Texas: Rival Intermodals In Action!

For railroads in the western United States, large metropolitan areas offer wide varieties of heavy haul rail traffic often from multiple railroads, most notably Union Pacific and BNSF. One of these areas, Dallas/Fort Worth, has been a crucial hub for both railroads for several years in counting, with the former Texas & Pacific, Santa Fe, and Fort Worth & Denver routes being the most notable of the rail lines around the area out of 13 combined subdivisions. These rail routes are primarily characterized today by train after train of double stacked intermodal shipping containers cruising over parallel polished steel joints criss-crossing the continent, referred to as a superhighway by railfans particularly on the Fort Worth side thanks to several interlocking towers serving upwards of 50 to 110 trains per day. In this video, follow us throughout Dallas and Fort Worth and beyond as we watch the two dominant western class I corporations battle it out with tonnage and speed within and around the suburbs and even into the west Texas hills. We will also look at some Trinity Railway Express trains at the Eddie Bernie Johnson Union Station in downtown Dallas as well as cover some of the new C44ACM rebuild programs in action all while watching the two rival intermodal fleets dominate the high iron. 2:20, all northbound traffic goes thru amarillo, trinidad and pueblo before going to denver. All southbound traffic from denver goes south to pueblo, then turns to la juanta and thru boise city and amarillo. The boise city sub is all southbound except locals, and the twin peaks and dalhart subs are all northbound
