I think I found my favorite violinist. I've heard thousands of versions of this tune. For the first time, I felt as if the INSTRUMENT was singing, magically, of its own accord. It was as if the violin was alive, singing its soul. No doubt, a master...playing a masterpiece...ON a masterpiece.

Like many of us, I’ve heard so many artists play this glorious song. But, as usual, Anne puts the emotion alongside her phenomenal technique, and this transcends every other version I’ve ever heard. Simply transcendent.
I always loved the oboe playing this from the original sound track, however, this tops that! If Morricone had heard her play this, he would have approved. I literally got goosebumps listening to this. Anne Akiko Meyers plays with soul, passion and emotion.
