I was there. I knew LA and Rich. Both were good dudes. 1986 - 1989 shit was mad wild in there. I lost my virginity at the Rooftop ( What up Shauntice). My brother’s crew used to rob out of town cats almost every weekend. Salute to your channel for putting some shine on 8th Ave and 155th !!!! Don’t get on here fronting !!!! Wow im from east orange nj.and the rooftop was my spot back in 1981and yes the gambling was known for the coke and dope parties me and my crew would wait for the disco fever to close and head up to the rooftop to have fun.i miss those days.

Great channel here my Brothers. Grew up in Harlem. Born in '55 and was familiar with the 116th st Crew. Before watching this Episode about the Rooftop i watched the episode featuring Noel Williams. He was one of the coolest brothers out there. I came home from college for Xmas and heard about his kidnapping. Sad. I met Gus in the early '90s. I played softball with some brothers from The Polo Grounds and he used come to the games sometimes. We used to chop it up a little and I could tell that he was into a lot of stuff but i never knew his full story until now. Another really cool dude. I had a good friend/coworker and we used to work nights. We'd go out to get lunch about 3am. Sometimes it was Sherman's.. Blimpies. My favorite though was Willie's Burgers. It was like something out of a movie. No place like Harlem 💪🏿💯

LA was killed in 84
When i 1st went in 84 PO had the Nissan 280zx,between 84 & 85 everything was about a few tier 1 teenagers during that era.we experied it from 13-18 which turned out to be 84-89 when it closed. Greatest skating rink to ever exist but it just attracted violence later on back to back.
Cap😂 po was still riding dirt bikes n motorcycles heavy in 84 LA was still around or just passed ...😅
Most of time when it was so much shooting at Manhattan Clubs in the 80s Brooklyn was in the house,later on in the mid 80's to early 90's it was basically beatdowns on innocent folks at such places as Union Square, the Palladium on 14th Street and Latin Quarters in Times Square area.
Dog,Pig,Horse and Crew,also The Decepticons use to beat down Manhattan and Bronx Kats but Bronx River Zulu Nation wasn't having it.

I was there "the Streets of Harlem" By Author Lester Marrow book no longer on shelves. In any event it's always a story for many reasons a lot took place back in that era. 404 Spot may be the reason the Roof Top survived back then.

I saw several documentaries on him but someone else. Karlton "Duncan"Hines. Years after his murder I worked with one his boys that was there in the back when the shooting took place.
