Este documental me gusto mucho, buenas entrevistas y tremendos personajes. Gracias por subirlo con subtitulos, esto deberían colocarlo en los colegios de ahora.
Muy interesante, ha abierto mi panorama musical, entonces a descargar canciones desde los 50s con chuck berry, elvis, little richard hasta los artistas de hoy...
in my opinion this is the most complete punk documentary.
Lo mismo dije yo más arriba. Bad Religion es un grupo que aportó un sonido nuevo al punk y fue bastante influyente. Su estilo empezó en el underground también, y se masificó a partir de los 90

El mejor documental sobre el Punk. Me gustò como muestra màs abarcadoramente sus antecedentes, aun mas que el capìtulo al Punk de la serie "The History of Rock N Roll".

A ver... El documental tiene el título perfecto. El punk no es simplemente un estilo de música, es una actitud. Gente con inquietudes y con ganas de cambiar las cosas.
Los que os limitáis a hablar de que el punk es lo de ahora y bla, bla, bla, no habéis entendido nada, y obviamente la única actitud que tenéis es la de panolis!
el documental se llama punk attitude, no post punk attitude ni dark wave attitude...
Y falta GG y miles mas, pero si van a incluir a TODOS tiene que durar 7 horas.

This is a very well produced (smart and mature) doco on PR. Right interviewees like Jarmusch, the No-Wavers... Wasn't the usual trite cliche I was expecting. Good Job!

Excellent documentary, up until the 90s.
I'd say hardcore more evolved into post-hardcore (bands such as Refused, and At The Drive-In), rather than grunge. I suppose grunge was influenced by punk, though.
Also, there was no mention of the Descendants, which is a pretty big omission.

That comment by Kieth Morris tripped me out, "the year punk broke". I always thought that quote meant broke as in "broken" or "wrecked" or "ruined" not "broke open" or "broke into the mainstream".
Chris Turnblom He's referring to a documentary film by that title from 1992. There's a Wiki page about it.
While American Hardcore is probably my favorite punk rock documentary this one is probably one of the most comprehensive I've seen.

The Misfits have become much bigger after they broke up. They WERE one of the bigger bands of early 80's US punk/hardcore in their time, but were not necessarily considered as "essential" to the scene as bands like DK, Black Flag, Minor Threat, Bad Brains or Husker Du.

Hay una parte que está mal traducida, sale traducido "New Wave" cuando hablan de Glenn Branca, DNA, Teenage Jesus, los comienzos Sonic Youth, y a esa escena se le denominó "NO wave". El new wave fue otra cosa.
Entre tanto subgénero o género, como describes o que bandas son new wave? :)
@@claudiayam2820 pq el no wave salio como lo opuesto a ese genero, el no wave tenia elementos del metal industrial, el noise rock etc.
No es necesario ser punk para ir en contra del sistema. En la revolución francesa y en muchos otros puntos de la historia ya ocurrió antes que viniera esta rebeldía. A mi el ''punk'' en si no me gusta, me gustan los subgéneros de éste.
Y quién dijo que fuera la única forma de ir contra un sistema? Pero independientemente de ir en contra del sistema de lo que aquí se habla es de jóvenes que no sabían tocar instrumentos y los utilizan para decir algo. Creo que no entendiste el punto mi estimado.
No se puede ir en contra del sistema cuando sos parte de él. Solo fue una moda musical para adolescentes usando la rabia y el minimalismo como forma de expresión. Algunos hicieron un buen negocio con la idea.
El Punk degeneró el Rock y a la véz fueron unos Rebeldes sin causas ....
Pero es mas entrenido ir contra el sistema siendo punk, q un hippie, o alguien de izquierda vistiendo de burgues.
