"this car will do 100 mph if you have the stones" lmao
Since Top Gear got screwed up in the UK, this is the only car show worth watching- never a dull moment, and very informative.
Have you watched any of the Grand Tour on Amazon, and if so what do you think of it?
IMO it's pretty good, but the second or third episode in Jordan fell flat.
I don't have Amazon, so I get what I can from You Tube. It's a pity they couldn't move to Amazon with the original BBC format- the new show seems to be a compromise. The 'banter' sounds even more scripted than it did before, and it seems as though Clarkson is very much to the fore as the star of the show, with the other two just there as support and the butt of his jokes.
Bill Cobbett
+Sam Scary
"Bill Cobbett"
Repeating a name with nothing more. What does that mean. I see people do this frequently, but am not sure what the purpose is? Is it an error, did you mean to say more and the data was lost?
Bill Cobbett , the just name thing is usually a mistake, generally it happens when one is trying to give your comment a thumbs up and ends up touching the comment instead. Hope this clears that up
Amazing auto. Shout out to Gary Wales for the build and for Jay for featuring it. Cars with balls.
The only thing that was missing was a picture of what the vehicle would've looked like as a firetruck back in 1919. Then you could appreciate what was preserved, restored, and changed. I do love these vids!
i love the way Gary talks; he's so enthusiastic!
I love Jay and his car friends, he doesn't hoard his collection, we all get to experience it inside and out, it's fantastic! Cheers Jay!
@13:20..." there that'll make the Cameraman jump"...
Respect!!!!
Most of the rest of us couldn't or wouldn't restore it either. That's why it's so amazing to see it here. Congrats to the guy with the fortitude to undertake such a huge and expensive project, and restore something different.
I like the part when Jay takes this beast to a fire station! That kind of spontaneity is what makes this show so likeable!
It looks like a banana, a rocket ship, and a bird somehow all had a baby, and I love it.
I thought it looked a little bit like a Bee :)
@@BelieveNoGod yeah...hence that music in the beginning
Jay Leno's enthusiasm for cars is truly infectious. His unyielding pursuit of all things cars, whether it's a modern day super car or a vehicle from days gone by, has made me gain a whole new appreciation for Mr. Leno as not only a great comedian, but as one of the great automotive connoisseurs. Simply put, you're the man Jay.
Big kudos for keeping these old heroes alive!!
Am I the only one that thinks the front looks life one of those old doctor's masks?
That's exactly what I was thinking!
Cosmic Agree %100
I was thinking more like some kind of dinosaur bird thing.
Good thing about COVID: people had to keep some distance
Love this guy, can't wait to see what he comes up with next...
I met Gary at Barrett Jackson earlier this year. Super eccentric car guy who loves to talk all things automotive. Great job, Gary! (Wish I had the cash to bid on your Rolls Royces)
I can only hope I'm as happy as Gary Wales when I'm his age.
Jay you are unbelievable. my husband and I enjoy anything that you do on TV, we missed you . We are very glad you have found a new way to get into our homes.
we have a 1919 american lafrance roadster here in finland, it is very cool ride :)
"Back in the day" Leno's favorite phrase.
you can never be bored on Jay Leno's Garage.. and the only show that feature one off or very unique automobile history.. I love your Show Jay.. you have the coolest cars on there.
What a great piece of history and beautiful to watch!
I loved seeing this!
Love the old technology. .Flathead twin cam, 4 valves per cyl. T head means even in 1919, someone somewhere had the sense to put the intake and exhaust on opposite sides.
I haven't smiled for this long, the entire episode, for a long time. Thank you guys.
Sure Jay, the wife will "love it", really practical for popping down to the shops ! !
Thanks for all the wonderful videos Jay, appreciate the time & effort in restoring your lovely collection.
The big emblem with the eagle on each side of la bestioni has nothing to do with Italy, it's simply the official emblem of Vienna/Austria! (For the Americans: Austria is a country in Europe ;-))
This is one of the most beautiful vehicles I've ever seen. The details are phenomenal, and I could spend days just looking it over and finding all the nifty touches. Well done, very well done.
Amazing how there are people who put these kinds of things together.
La Bestioni in every garage. What a work of art!
Has a very steam punk kinda look to it. I love it.
*HOLY COW THAT FLYWHEEL!* 0_0
It's bigger than a Prius's tire LMAO!
cybertree that flywheel is bigger than the tires on a new camry and each cylinder has the same displacement as the 2.3 ecoboost used on the focus rs this thing is scary
Picture Car Warehouse brought one like this into Valley Pacific Frame and Suspension about a year ago! LOUD! May have been Gary who was there. Fantastic Piece of Automotive technology! Loved this one! Thanx Jay!....... Duffy
Love seeing all the cars and trucks and stuff like this. Thank goodness for Jay
This truck car is amazing the owner has a eye for art
Jay your hair is out of control in this video!!! you need to turn the stability control back on.
Lol I think it suits him, he looks like the cool old mad car scientist he is.
+William Seroyer So glad you mentioned this. I was about to post this too haha
Hell I didn't even notice it till you pointed it out I was too busy looking at the Yellow monster. After I read your comment I looked at his hair and chuckled yep it is out of control.
Absolutnie dzieło sztuki inżynierskiej ,fantastyczny bolid .
It's masing, in the Bestioni car, every pieces is a work of art, the engine song too...:)
Jay Leno....pleeease....never die....O.K.?.
This is the biggest formula racing car I've ever seen :) Might as well be off-road formula car!
It's a truck.
Thanks for your moxie and creativity, Geary.
That treasure has soooo many unique and thought details.
This must be a hoot to park at the mall. What a beautiful beast this is. The perfect ride for the extrovert.
wow... there is nothing more to say... just wow
Jay looks like a mad professor in this episode.
The hair makes it look like he just woke up lol
Jay, this thing is just AWESOME. Beautiful craftsmanship in every detail. I love this car! Thanks for an outstanding video.
Just saw La Bestioni at the CBS Studios Fourth of July event-- the TMPCC car club show! Gary fired it up and it was awesome to see! Congrats on the Grand Touring with Jay!
Amazing, I wish he would do a wood boat tail rear end on one and add some passenger seating for fun.
you have to love the sound of a huge six cylinder petrol engine mmmmm
wow, just wow. Retro engineering at its most beautiful!
Jay, thanks for all beautiful cars you showing us, it is wonderful to work and possibly collect these automobiles, wish you the best and good luck jay.
I'd love to take this thing on the Hot Rod Power tour
Paint it green and it would look like something Captain Nemo would drive.
Fun little thing, the two brass switches are actually old domestic light switches we used to have in Denmark for 220V, you can even buy them new and upgraded (safetywise) today for renovation.
Love your videos!!
I love how excited the firefighters were to see jay Leno and the old firefighters truck.
The definition of "Steam Punk".
Wouldn't Jay's steam car be the "definition" of stream punk?
Banana-Racecar-Monstertruck-Roadster :)
I love the imagination involved in a build like this. So much fun.
Thank you jay I loved the show and now this is my new show with you on it . It's so nice your saving a part of time in each one of these cars
Jules Verne,would approve...
I like how they look like midgets standing next to this beast of a car :p
Such a cool old machine with such style Sir Jay................thanks so much as always
It's been a pleasure watching this one. Thank you!
I think the seat should be about 3 feet higher so you can see something in front of you.
needs more badges...
The exterior, engine, chain drive etc. This thing is a seriously unique and cool piece of automotive engineering.
Best guest car ever Jay.
It's a Steam-Punk's wet dream.
I just came liquid copper in my leather pants lol :P. You couldn't be more right brother.
13:20 RIP headphone users
+WookieMullet, WHAT? HUH? CAN YOU SPEAK UP PLEASE!
Scared the crap out of his guest too lol
It would be hilarious if those firemen had the beast of Turin and accepted Jay’s challenge. Fantastic example of inspired workmanship, thank you both for sharing.
Looks like a kind and gentle flightless bird ! Beautiful work.
Bad Italian. It should be "il bestione"
Amazing vehicle, it's a pity they didn't research the name more accurately. It just sounds like an horrible cliché of american-italian slang...
renzo guerra Perhaps a play on words , it's a LaFrance
In which case it should still be LaBestiona :)
+mengugreg You're right, however: if the name of the car is bestioni for whatever reason (could be a surname, a mythological creature etc.) then you still have to use the article "la" because in Italian all cars are 'female': la Ferrari, la Lamborghini, la Zonda, la Fiat etc. Therefore even with a plural male name you need the female article 'la' when it's about cars. If the guy wanted to call it simply 'the beast' then it should have been "la bestia".
Bestioni is plural, im italian and is Ridicoulus should be la bestiona
When you drive this car you end up having to pick priuses and focuses out of that huge grill
I liked how Jay already knew how to operate it before they guy could tell him how to... Like A Boss
These videos are the best thing on YT.
Look at Jay's hair: 10:27 No shower for days! lol
I was thinking the same at 3:06
It's Genetic ,he has unruly hair ,and you envie him cause he is not bald and you are.
Vitality Massag
Jay probably had just driven one of his convertibles..
when chitty chitty bang bang and bumblebee had a child.
What a blast. No other car could make you belly laugh like this one can!
I love Gary's smile!
"La" is a singular form of the word "the" in English; however, words that end in "i" in Italian are plural, so "bestioni" is a plural word. So "La Bestioni" is incorrect grammar in Italian because it combines a singular article with a plural word. They should have done some research before committing to a name.
markalexander774 I think that thing qualifies as more than one Beast, thereby justifying the plural. It's like four bright yellow Hummers.
madmonkey914 I'm fine if they want a plural name, my problem is with one part of the name being plural and the other part being singular. Not to mention the fact that "la" is a feminine article and "Bestioni" is a masculine noun. So the possible names that it should have, in order to be grammatically correct, are:
"il bestione" (if you want a singular masculine word)
"i bestioni" (if you want a plural masculine word)
"la bestia" (if you want a singular feminine word)
"le bestie" (if you want a plural feminine word)
I'm not following you. Maybe I'm rusty on my grammar. Are you saying it should be 'Le Bestioni'? I am not aware of both a singular and plural word 'The' in English. I could be wrong, please correct me if so. Or maybe that is one of the differences in structure between English and Italian. Thoughts?
Never mind, I get it. Thank you!
madmonkey914 Yeah, it's just a difference between the languages. A lot of languages have different definite articles. In English we have one: "The" But in the Romance languages, they have masculine, feminine, plural, and singular versions of their definite articles that correspond to the gender and number of the noun in question.
La Bestioni is not Italian :) It's just a made up name.
Il Bestione or I Bestioni should in case be Italian
Have you no sense of humour?
It's made up from a combination of LaFrance (The original firetruck manufacturer) and Bestioni
One of my favorite episodes from your program so far!
Work of art. Just fabulous.
With that beak. Looks like star trek© ramming speed. Thanks for new one.
Unique what a piece of craftmanship!
Keep doing what you're doing, Jay! Absolutely fantastic show.
This just makes me smile.
thanks for all the craziness, makes me smile
I like Gary Wales. He's not only creative and talented but he's an easy going fella.
Fantastic workmanship! Love this in my drive.
Thrilling episode, bravo!!!
Impressive! How this guy takes an antique "fire truck" and blends the antique with the modern. And makes an awesome vehicle!
Gary Wales what a Man, great sense of humour as well.
That is one big sports car! Thanks for posting.
We had a tire shaving machine at the Sears Automotive Garage in Durham NC where I was a mechanic back in the 80's after I left the Harley Davidson dealership.
Just amazing. One of very favorites seen on JLG.
Jays hair has gone all TVR! Lol
I think he needs to turn its traction control back.
marvellous craftsmanship-my deepest respect and greatest compliments !
Gotta love Gary. Hope to see him more on the show!
WOW ! WHAT A INTERESTING BUILD ! I OWNED A RETIRED 1929 LAFRANCE IN THE EARLY SIXTIES, IT SERVED AS A LADDER TRUCK IN PARKERSBURG WV FOR OVER THIRTY YEARS . NEVER BUILT ANYTHING OUT OF IT, WISH NOW I HAD ! TOO OLD NOW, PUSHING 84 YRS. .
And thusly, Jay has fastened the world to turn another thousand cycles from driving this beast.
Wow! That thing looks awesome! It looks like something you could ram a small village with!
Outrageous!
Not just the shirt, but the whole outfit. Black on yellow, gotta love it. Then again, I am a huge steelers fan so I'm highly partial to that color combination.
