I would love to learn the art of grafting and become a preservation location. I think this might work bc I live in the middle of a desert where I have been able to grow all sorts of fruit trees. It is a high desert and has both cold and hot temps. Very few pests bc it is out in the desert.

Where can I get a book that teaches me how to create my own tree of 40 fruit? I want to do this on my own land in Missouri. Thank you!

Please look up the Redland Fruit and Spice Park in Florida.
They are operating on a similar idea as a community orchard.
    Doing great things with preservation.

I wish there was someone that could tell people where to buy all the grafts. And start with a tree for zone 4. We live in the top of zone 5. But after all the work involved, would not like a bad winter to kill that tree. March 12, 2021

You can call a nursery nearby who does their own grafts. Ask them where and how to buy grafts. Best scenario is if they can sell you some. You have to look for trees who naturally have done good in your area. Here in the netherlands the nurserys usually also have the trees that are a good match. And you can start off a tree in a pot, so you can take it inside if its freezing. However when you graft (and harvest the graft) it is from december till around march from the mothertree unto your rootstockand. The graft is harvested when the tree is "in "rest" (during winter)The graft is already equipt to the climate. Not all grafts.are succesfull. Apples have a higher succesrate than plums. I noticed that you best graft a plum whem tempatures are going up and there is some warmth. Good luck
