  • Residents of Bo-Kaap have expressed concern over a new establishment in the area that is serving alcohol.
Previously known as the Malay Quarter the area was first inhabited by Muslim settlers but grew into a tolerant multicultural community.
The owner of the Abantu Restaurant and Bar, who was not willing to give his full name, says that he is operating his business within the law.
The license was issued by the Western Cape Liquor License Board.
