I am really curious about a side to side comparison between the Wharfedale Diamond 11.2 and the Evo 4.1 and all the similarities and differences since the first was the blueprint for the latter :)
Nice job, Randy. Great description of the sound. Sounds like a nice product.
I got lucky and purchased an open-box pair of these Wharfedales. I can confirm that everything in this review is spot-on. The level of detail and instrument separation is spectacular. When the bass hit from "Intergalactic" comes in - it does not disappoint. Thanks for a great review.
Great review Randy. Love the new ‘close up’ format too 👍
Nice review Randy. Very true to my personal experience. These are lovely speakers. I really enjoyed them when I had them. Due to my situation, I liked it more than the 4.2. Real wood! It's an overall quality natural sounding speaker. I was also surprised at how well contained and balanced the top end is. The bottom firing woofer helps placement issues. Bravo to Warfdale. With a sub, they produce a great overall performance and just adds a little bass for dynamics. .
Great review as usual Randy. I actually purchased the Emotiva T2+ partly based on your review of it and should be receiving them this Tuesday. About the AMT, I owned a pair of ESS AMT 1B back in the 80's and loved that sound for jazz. What would be great for the bookshelf size speakers with AMT is if you could place them horizontally on a shelf with the option to rotate or place the AMT vertically.
Love your channel sir, I was looking to purchase the diamond 12.2. The sales person talked me into the evo 4.1, I am so happy with my purchase. These speakers sound like a entry level high end speaker.
@@shanesharpe7350 hola. Me pasa igual, iba a ir por los 12.2 pero ahora estoy indeciso. Cual amplificador usas?
Great real world review, man...I love the way you speak to real people...not just audiophiles...I do miss the blue screen between lets talk about bass, midrange and treble. Keep on keepin on, brother!
I’m on a new computer for these. I’ll figure out a way to get that over to the new one
Good review Randy, lots of details.
Nice review. I have 4.2's with SVS subs and love it. I think you are correct that the 4.2's need a bit more finessing to get them where they need to be, but once you get there....superb. 4.1 look good for smaller rooms.
The Wharfedale for the Win!! Awesome review Randy- there you go - digging into my pockets again!
Gordo!
Excellent review! You gave us to understand the tonal difference between 4.1 and 4.2. Also I see you changed from last winter, you are definitely more detailed (you enter the speaker). Also your vocabulary is more rich, describing the speakers.
Great review. I have the Evo 4.1. I would agree with most of what you say. The AMTs sound smooth. I enjoy bass heavy music, so they need some help with a sub. Set your crossovers correctly, and not work those 5 inch drivers too hard.... they sound awesome.
Thanks Randy for the review. Found open box in white. Speakers sound wonderful. Upgraded from Jamo C93s in my main listening area.
Thank you been waiting for this one, reviews where scarce was like the red headed step child of the line . love the bigger brother when I heard them in person these are interesting! Mabey when they or if they ever drop to 500 but unlikely
Great review. Thank you, sir.
I got the 4.1's, oddly, after much deliberation between the 4.2 and 4.3's, and very happy with the decision. They sound very natural sounding, and their three-dimensional presentation feels very organic and 'live'. They definitely excel with music, though doubled up for films/tv, its very interesting being able to hear the shape of a room as people move about and speak whilst indoors... makes me wonder how the evo surround experience would be by comparison
Great review. They are paradoxical, I have thought the same about the 4.3's for months.
Not warm like blanket, more comfortable, luxuriant, crisp and natural like silk PJ.
The Evo range really does like higher wattage/current output amplifiers.
Keep on truckin folks.
what kind of warm are they?
Great review and 50K followers very soon!!!!!
Love your effort here.
This is my end game speaker!! I started with the B1+, nice but I felt it’s missing body, midrange and treble were too thin. I bought the Elac UB52, which has a much deeper and fuller sound and images to a next level, but always after listening for a while I started to feel fatigue/pain in my ears (I’m listening in a small room). Then I bought the Evo 4.1 and… I’m so very happy, the sound is even better it’s gives you more of the 3D sound, I can really touch the music it has that grip illusion.. Bass is very pleasing, deep tight punchy and quick !! No fatiguing what’s so ever. Thank you CAM!
These might make decent PC speakers (with a pair of $20 amplifier boards from eBay added inside the enclosures), for apps like gaming or casual listening to music on CZcams, but that's about it.
@@gyrgrlsI would think the reason it does not sound in your system is the amplifier, not the speaker.
@@gyrgrls that’s pretty much saying these are worth 40$
Now I’m really curious to try these out😎
@@danielacosta1998 Now I upgraded to RSL CG5 Bookshelf Speakers, and I like them even more - in my system. Good Luck
Listening to Randy's great review of the Wharfedales, when suddenly I heard somebody walk across my upstairs floor, which had me looking around and ready to grab a big flashlight/bludgeon or a hand cannon or something, when it occurred to me the sound was from the review (13:24 ~) So now, if you wish to check the realism of your AV receiver and sub, see if you get the same spooky result.
Nice job Randy. Wharfedale fan since 1970. They actually built a speaker with sand sandwiched in the cabinet to reduce resonance.
I watched a few reviews, but based mostly on your review, I purchased a set of these. I got them 20% off retail price because there was a slight flaw in the Veneer, which I can't even see even though I know it is there. I have been really impressed with these speakers. No matter how close to the wall they are, they sound great, likely due to the bottom port. They do need correct toe in though, but other than that, they are really great. It is probably the best implementation of an AMT tweeter I have ever heard. The bass was very impressive with these. The punch harder than the specs would indicate
Thank you so much for your help in this.
I have these in my office/gaming room and I love them. Wharfedale has the best house sound I’ve heard.
Randy! I got your message response 2 days after I ordered a set of the wharfedale Diamond 12.2's! I went to CZcams and listened to a very insightful review from Andrew Robinson on the EVO4.1's and then just now finished listening to your review of the them! I called Music Direct to speak with Brian my sales rep. to see if they still had the open box pair of EVO4.1's that were discounted down from $799 to $640 and they did! I will be returning the unopened 12.2's to Music Direct and will be getting the EVO4.1's and purchased the Denon PMA-600ne integrated amp to drive them with! I know that the music streaming quality of the Denon isn't considered to be great but it will get me by till I purchase an upgraded DAC streamer and I don't want to spend over $275! I have read awesome reviews of the "Auris BlueMe HD and the Auris BlueMe Pro" which sell for $119/HD and Pro/$169! The DAC is a high quality and the specs are very good on both of these streamers! Is there another DAC streamer thst falls in the $275 price point that you would recommend to add to the Denon PMA-600ne to improve the overall quality of the streaming to play thru the Wharfedale EVO4.1's? That was a long sentence! 😁😛Randy thank you bigtime for what you do and share with all "us" weekend warrior audiophiles! I have supremely enjoyed watching your reviews on speakers, amps and DAC streamers! You take the art of drinking a cup of coffee to a whole new level! I want to drink coffee but it is instant "Reflux" for me! I will just stick to my "Milo's Sweet tea" as my beverage choice for my caffeine kick! 😉🤙
Hi Randy, wondering how they compare to the kit speakers you review in recent past? Both are closely priced.
Off topic Randy but any thoughts on comparing the Geashelli J2 to the Schiit Modi Multibit. I think I have narrowed my DAC choice to these two. Stereo music first, then 2.0 Home theater system. Thank you
Great review. I was wondering if these would make a good upgrade from my Mordaunt Short Mezzo 2's? I've no idea what those cost back in 2010 as they were given to me by a friend who worked for Cambridge Audio. They're slight bigger than the EVO 4.1's. They look great and sound OK but they're not super-exciting. I use them with a Marantz PM6005 amp (45W / 8 ohm)
This is the most "balanced yet musical" speaker review I've ever listened to (under $1000). Even Steve Gutenberg's review of the RP600M was not this musical. Great job!
Randy can hear about 500hz higher, give or take. Depends on the ear.
@@Audfile Ha ha! Good one! There is information, and then there is misinformation. NEVER trust the manufacturer's advertised specs!
Hi Randy an other great one...Question : How this one compare to the DIY kit speakers you reviewed recently?
Hello. In the video he says several times that for the speaker to release its potential (bass) you have to give it power. Does this mean that it is not a near field loudspeaker? according to manufacturer's specifications Frequency response (+/-3dB) 64Hz ~ 22kHz Bass (bass) is not very high? Thanks for your time.
Hey! One year anniversary coming up! Pushin' 50k. Cool.
Pretty nice design 😎👌
Good job Randy 👍
thank you señor :) excellent review
Hi sir, how is this speaker if compare to Elac Unifi reference ubr62 in term of overall sound performance? I listen most to metal, edm, orchestral, jazz and some vocal..
Randy.....absolutely love your channel. Recently picked up the Evo 4.1 after watching your review. Prior to these I had Elac Unifi ub5 and ub5.2. Can you comment on the evo 4.1 compared to the elac carina. Both have AMT tweeters so more of an apples to apples......love you take on this......thanks Paul
Hello Randy, do you think these are better than the Emotiva line ? I'm looking for soundstage and dinamics.
Given their format with the bass port at the bottom of the 4.2s and 4.1's instead of the back. It might come a bit more down to the kind of speaker stands instead of wall distance.
I got the EVO 4.1 speakers as an upgrade over the Emotiva B1+ speakers. $700 seemed like a good price. I love how they sound. However, I may not have taken a chance on them had they been $800 at that time. Of course the B1+ speakers have gone from $230 to $300 in that same time span.
Have found these 4.1 and the Denton 80 at a demo sale - how do these two differ in sound, ease of listening placement, are one more fatiguing than the other? I prefer smooth sound over sharp. And how are these in comparison to the Emotiva B1+ ?
I have Monitor Audio Silver RX6s, which are great. But I love the look of these. Would they be better? Worse? About the same? Thanks!
Hi! Do you think they are suitable as surround speaker for an home theatre configuration with the Denon AVC X4700H and evo 4.2 as front speakers? Thank you very much
How do they compare to the Emotiva B1+? Very similar for 30% the cost.
I would love to see you get your hands on some Focal speakers 👌🤞
Some Chora or older more affordable Chorus bookshelf speakers😉
Have you ever had a chance to experience Focal?
Love your channel 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Just picked up a pair for £428 in the UK for my desk. Currently set up with Amazon music hd, wiim mini and a smsl ad18. Is it worth swapping out the smsl with something else? If so what would you recommend, thanks in advance:)
I see what your doing, Randy... Expanding the production value a bit - new lower thirds and close up pans, etc. Very sophisticated feel for such an upper budget product. Very Andrew Robinson, "your mileage may very". I like it for the upper-to just over your budget products. That said, for the more price-to-entry, everyman fair, I still enjoy the quick witted, tongue & cheek, transition while you drink style that I've come to love. All in all, you knock it out of the park with both styles, my friend! Bravo!! Additionally, did you bi-amp these speakers? I'd love to hear your take on that feature when it's an option on a product that offers it.
Thanks, Randy!
I’m trying to do some new things with shooting and stuff. Appreciate you noticing.
Got a set of these on the way. FIngers crossed they sound OK with my kit. No problem if not, I bought form a place with a solid returns policy.
i wonder if the Evo 4.1 will work well with the Marantz NR-1711?
Randy! I'm about 5 days from my Wharfedale EVO4.1's arriving to me!' I have a pair of Monster Cable from the 80's when I was on a 10 year journey of purchasing high end home audio CD players, amps, preamps and speaker cable and inter-connects! Is there a liquid product that you are awarevoff thst is used to clean the gold plated banana plugs and the open ended speaker gold plated lugs! I know that gold plated speaker connections are not suppose to have any tarnishing or oxidation! But just wanted to check with you and see if you had any usage of such a product that is designed to clean the speaker terminal connects! I will reach out to you with my first impressions of my Wharfedale EVO4.1's being driven by a brand new Denon PMA-600ne integrated amp! Thank you for recommending the EVO4.1's over the Diamond 12.2's!
Mac Baker 😁💪👍
I love that you are using Rumours it is the reference to judge all pop recordings especially the chain.
The remastering on Rumours & Tango expanded albums CDs are exceptionally well done - not just louder , more balanced, clean but not over analytical 👍
@@andrewbrazier9664 Thanks for letting me know I will check them out.
How does this compare to the Polk Reserve R200?
EVO 4.1 VS ELAC DBR62 VS Carina BS243.4. VS Denton 80 or 85. Mostly, I'm curious of the differences if any between the EVO 4.1 and the ELAC Carina as both use a ribbon tweeter.
Nice review.
thanks for your review I'm getting these: they are on their way. because of the shape I'm going to use them as rears any recommendations on speaker stands.
any help on this as its my first pair of soeakers... thank you
Which would you say are the better overall speakers Wharfedale Evo 4.1s or the Polk Reserve R100s? For 60% music, 40% movies...
Ok so if I buy these, would the Freya + preamp with the tubes be what I need. I'm a total newb.
Any chance you could review the Focal Chorus 605s? Seems like the price might be too good to be true.
Nice review Randy. i currently have a pair of q acoustics 3020i paired with a quad vena ii, match that i really enjoy, but im looking for a speaker upgrade. i have a small/medium room, would you recomend the evo 4.1 as qa 3020i upgrade?
thanks!
I went from 3020 (not "I") to Evo 4.2's....dear god, what an improvement.
Your amp will be a good match....I tried the Audiolab 6000a on an extended loan with mine and it was really good (effectively the same amplifier as the Quad under the skin)
Agree - Really a good speaker for the money! Not much comes close in that pricerange. And here it even cost around 530USD.
I got the Evo 4.2 its very good i run them with the marantz PM8005 and soon a bluesound node n130.
I've got the Node N130 with 4.2's.....if you get a little sub and run it from the Nodes sub out, the app allows you to set a high pass filter taking that frequency away from the speakers...improves them, not radically, but you really notice when you switch it off
I love the Wharfedale speakers. Mines are the Wharfedale E 70, nothing compared with the actual ones but I really love it. I'm a cheap audio lover and my rig is a small TEAC Reference 300 & 350 series with 7 units in total and looking for the complete series. I not use nothing than my Audio Technica AT-LP120XUSB via phono to the TEAC, and the MD, CD, DVD, Cassette and radio that comes with it. Some times I plug the Hi-MD I have or the PC via Aux and I'm happy. What do you think of this mix? Speakers from 1977, mini Hi-Fi from 1999 and turntable from 2020 without any Hi-Res audio or DAC or whatever todays people are common to use. Thanks, just discover your channel, sub, and all stuff, well done!
I had a set of Wharfedale E70's from new for around 20 years. they were party animals could rock the house. I would go outside and feel the house vibrate In my UK brick built home. and that was driving them with a 50 wpc late 1970's Yamaha receiver, had many a good party with them in my teens, early twenty's. Only let them go when I got into home theatre and wanted all matching speakers. I regret letting them go tbh. they were like old friends. never let me down.
Splendid! dome/info, Thank you 👍👊 ........ UK
How would you judge them to the CSS diy speakers i am looking to get speakers for the front
Great video, as usual. You are so articulate that you should be on Sesame Street! ;)) Why aren’t any of DIY speakers in your Recommended Speaker List?
OK, so does it "maybe" blow the pants off or compete with Goldenear BRX ?
How would you compare these to the Denton 80 or 85?
A better than usual video
Hi randy why don't you do the Wharfedale subwoofers meant to go with those, active speakers sw150 $150 get two try and get a pair work with any small type speaker or floorstander
Best block the port on the main speaker when using the subwoofers
Hey I just got the Sony sscs5 and the fluence rt81 with a build in preamp. Just curious if until I can afford a better preamp if I could just run the system through aiyima A07 amp?
Yeah. With a built in phono pre just run it right into the A07 snd you’ll be golden
That is a good looking speaker! Tweeter kinda looks like a harmonica
It would be cool to see what you think about the Martin Logan bookshelf models since they also have that type of tweeter. The last generation of this series is on steep discounts regularly. Is that something you would be interested in? Just wondering how all these AMT speakers would compare XD
Marton logan are not considered as good speakers from my experience.
Pretty sure they do not let people test their stuff dor that reason.
I will never forget the day I had a customer play their Martin logan system for me while working in their home. I was so unimpressed, I went home and played my 80$ pioneer bs22lr to find they sounded better in many ways.
@@TonicofSonic that’s hilarious haha. I never heard them.
Martin Logan has never really crossed my radar. I’ve looked at them before and even with discounts they didn’t seem like a good deal to me. The only ones I could somewhat afford seemed so small for what the price was
Why no shoot out between Evo 4.1, r200 and Elac DBR62? Please do it Randy man.
I agree
What’s not to like ? No fatigue but detailed, warm but neutral ….
This or diamond 12.2 with a subwoofer?
What are your thoughts on the Sony HT-A9 ?
These or Denton 80th anniversary which has the better sound ?
Outstanding review, as always!
Does anyone know how these would pair with my Yamaha A-S501 integrated amp? I just got the Klipsch RP600M II and I’m not loving them like I hoped I would. The amp, though, seems great. Now I’m trying to decide between these EVO4.1, Diamond 12.2, and KEF Q350. Whatever I get will be used in a 12x15 bedroom for stereo music and TV sound.
What did you not like on the RP600m 2 ?
Try a pair of Roger Sound Labs (RSL) CG5's I love mine
MAN! you had me at "you can hear the ocean" LOL... NOW... i need to know if the ocean sound is more bass or hefty midrange...
ANSWERS TO MONDAYS QUESTION:
Yesterday I asked a what audio company am I question? The company, named after a musical instrument is Cello. A Mark Levinson company. There was a clue about the founders initials being consecutive letters of the alphabet (in this case in reverse). He came out with a series of records for audiophiles with sensational sound in the late 70's. Some or all of them were titled Mark Levinson Presents. Some of them were Dbx encoded for use with Dbx decoders. Probably their best known product was a preamp/ equalizer called the Cello Audio Palette, the equalizer was arguably the most sophisticated quality one ever (including to this day) and didn't degrade the sound like equalizers do. Very costly though. The came out with a moving coil cartridge called the Cello Chorale, which several reviewers thought could be the best cartridge on the market if a few things like tracking could be improved. The clue about it having something in common with Robert Shaw, was that Shaw's group was called the Robert Shaw Chorale & they made records for RCA for many years under that name. Mark Levinson, the man behind the Cello brand was married to well known Hollywood actress Kim Cattrall.
QUESTION: What Speaker Am I?
I am no longer made. The company that made me is still in business. My designer who was a creative genius, died shortly before I ever made it to the marketplace. I was considered the best speaker of my time by many. I was unique. I command a high price today on the used speaker market. When in production, my retail price went from $900.00 a pair to $3,995.00 a pair within a very short time. The South American engineer who was hired and knew how to build me best, wanted to retire, and his output was sporadic. I took a whole Lot of Watts to really get going. I was perfectly phase coherent, which other speakers weren't. I was one of the most talked about speakers ever. If you walked into an ice cream parlor, you might see something might reminds you of me. When they stopped production of me, my replacement needed badges. I didn't need no stinking badges! I was fatter and most people think I was better than the models that directly followed me. There is a guy who still works with & builds drivers of the kind I used. The abbreviation of his home state begins to spell out my company's name. What speaker am I?
If you come up with the answer, best to keep it to yourself, so as not to ruin it for others.
This question was brought to you by Bluto Mindpretzel & Sons Co. (not really a subsidiary of Falcon Audio Chicken Hawk).
Have you reviewed the Martin Logan Motion 4i??
I just hooked these up to my Marantz Model 40n...put them on my speaker stands and if I'm not perfectly in line with tweeter it sounds muffled and no detail...I will look for another set of speakers...I've tried KEF R3 and Buchardt MK ll ...so far no luck...the Kefs need a lot of power and subwoofer - not warm like I want...The Buchardt mk ll didn't have enough detail...
I want to audition something detailed with good midrange and all around warm...I sit them on my 28" weighted stands...if anyone could help point me to something I'm looking for, that would be great...my portable Harmon Kardon Studio six is better than these Evo 4.1
cheapaudioman, how do the 4.1's compare to the Polk R200's soundwise?
I want to ask the same question, they are available for the same price in my country, and I will be using them for nearfield to midfield listening.
I know this is 2 years old but I am replying incase someone else watches this today like I am. I have the Polk R200. The ring radiator tweeter in the Polk is kind of terrible. I also bought the Sonus Faber Lumia II and those are kind of Bright to me. but they also play Ultra clear at super Low volumes. The polk R200's are party speakers not audiophile speakers. They play LOUD without stress
@@mgaming7what amplifier are you using? Those are two great sets of speakers that CAN be bright.
Wharfedale speakers are known to actually dip down to 4 ohms or below at some lower frequencies, even though they are spec'd at 8 ohms
These dip down to 3.5 ohms.
Normally a speaker is dipping down when trying to play lower bass, So because of this I run two SVS PB1000 subs, and use Emotiva BasX amps to drive my speakers as it take that load away from my Denon X6700H. I have a medium sized room and listen at reasonable volumes. for me it's more about the immersion than rare power and volume.
Bought these in July for 599 euros. Very happy with them.
A bit of a step aside but out of curiosity I wonder how the Sony (I believe it was the SSCS5) you reviewed holds up to the Wharfedale Evo 4.2 you did, since they are both 3 way systems. I had them on my list when searching for a pair for a second room but they seem not that easy to get here in Northern Europe.
That's .... not even the same universe. The scss5 are quite good budget options, the wharfedale are "budget friendly" high end alternatives and both have dramatically different tonalities.
Worth 3x the b1+'s?
Quite a few people, including myself that owned or heard the 4.2 and 4.1, feel the 4.1 sound more coherent than the 4.2. There is something about the 4.2 that dont sound quite right, like the 3 way is implemented wrong. The 4.1s sound oh so right, everything just clicks into place.
Yeah, I've seen other people saying they prefer the 4.1s too. Wharfedale seems like a great company, and I definitely would consider them when I'm ready to buy some passive speakers.
@@agentm83 look out for the new Elysian 1... they just came out and its already making waves thru the audio community.
@@-MarkWinston- $5000? Draining waves out of your wallet....
@@scrout it is afterall TOTL, so take it for what it is. In fact its the most affordable in the Elysian range. I personally cant afford it, but others might.
The little mid driver on the 4.2's and the rest of the range takes bloody forever to run in....and I'm talking a good 200 hours, in short, they sound very odd for the first few months....before gradually getting their act together....I don't know how they sell any from audition but it's the better speaker eventually. I wouldn't swap.
Too expensive over there, less than $500 in the UK
How many arabica coffee beans did you smoke this morning? Great review, I have the 4.3s and they’re excellent. Just add a sub and weeeeee
I'm interested in the 4.3 myself! I've read that the midrange is a little in-your-face, but the same person said they were nicely balanced... Would you mind saying a little more about what you think of them?
@@ericdaniel323 the midrange is in your face (vocals, acoustics/clean guitar) but it’s pleasant. At no point does the speaker fatigue, they worked the crossovers very well. I will say, that’s what I like though… I wanted to hear those tones come through rather than be buried in the mix. In your face but nowhere is it shouty.
The fit and finish + sound quality from the trickle down of the Elysian was a no brainer for me. It’s an amazing pair of speakers and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Order from Crutchfield (walnut about to restock) and if you don’t like them, return them. I think you’ll keep them! But you’ll likely want a sub to cushion the 4.3s 5” woofers. If you can spring it, get the 4.4s as the price different between the two was only $200 a speaker… I would have bought them but they wouldn’t have fit where the speakers are currently sitting.
Compared to the Elac Uni-fi Reference, which one has a wider soundstage and more accurate imagine?
Never would a ribbon win in that category.
@@TonicofSonic they are not ribbons tweeter's no matter what they say. It's folded paper basically.
I want the wharfedale evo 4.4 badly.
do you think the evo 4.1 are better than the Critons? what are your thoughts on this
Based on his past reviews, no.
Recommendation for subwoofer crossover with EVO 4.1. 60HZ? 50HZ?
In my setup I set it to 80hz. Mine sub is SVS 1000. The amplification must be very strong to wake up these wonderful speakers. My amp it is Emotiva basX A300 with 150w 8ohm
When you say medium size room for these, what is that? My room is 25’x18.5’x8’. With a sub, is that okay? I listen at around 80-85db average.
I'd go with the 4.2's with that size, could probably go 4.3's and lose the sub tbh.
Though with the ridiculous prices on Wharfedales that side of the pond that might be easy to say.
I guess it depends what you listen to and how hard you'd drive them, a 35w amp would struggle in that space if you want to rock out to Metallica
@@DomRivers67 I don’t want to go towers. The 4.2 are 1500 plus tax in my country.
What to buy for the Emotiva BasX A2 amplifier ? :
1)B&W 603
2)Monitor Audio Silver 300
3)Dali Opticon 6 Mk2
4)Wharfedale EVO 4.4
All the above are very good speakers so only your personal taste and preference can help you decide which one to buy. I'm also pretty sure that once you purchase one of the above you will end up upgrading the amp as well. It's not that Emotiva is a bad amplifier. It's just that these speakers can benefit from having even better amplification. I can say that from my own experience with Evos 4.4. They sound better and better with every upgrade I make to my hifi setup.
see you tonight, brother!
Wharfedale Evo 4.1 vs Elac Uni-fi Reference? What to buy for more movie watching, occasional music listening. Edit: Lol arrived at the answer in the video!
Only just discovered your channel. Like it a lot. I have a random question that you may be able to advise on. Can you recommend a good cheap Bluetooth mic. Something portable like a lapel mic that I can use to clean up my videos I make with my iPad and android phone? I know it’s probably not your thing but your content sound is very good so looks like you know your stuff. I seem to video in awkward echoey gyms and out door situations. Oh yes I am also a budget “ audiophile”🤣 I have some Temple Audio mono block amps into Klipsch speakers. These mono blocks are tiny class d for £500 for both and look lovely. Made in UK. No well made reviews on them but they may interest you.(they are a bit niche though🤣. Anyway keep up the good work. I appreciate how much time making content like this takes
Perhaps a future review of the Quad S2 ?
I have also been wondering how Wharfdale Evo 4.2 / 4.1 AMT tweeter compare with the Quad S1/ S2 ribbon tweeter speakers 🔊 🤔
Zero Fidelity gave us a heads up that most prices on gear would be going up. If you want something better sooner than later.
Sadly EVERYTHING these days are rising in price drastically!!!

@@TonicofSonic Mmm! Gazpacho! It’s what’s for dinner.
Where can I find Zeros comment? Sean is pretty much "in the know" with his background in the biz.
@@chrisdunaway2562 On the brighter side, lumber has gone down a bit.
I’m listening to this video on a 17 years old, 5-star award winning, £100. world’s best bookshelf speaker (My opinion) The Wharfedale 9.1.
