I enjoyed seeing you rank all the books you've read :) I appreciate your impressions on all the books and I'll definitely check out some of your favourites, like Cinema Love. Also I just want to note about Hello Stranger that with face blindness it's hard to just connect the other context clues (what connects pieces of a whole together is damaged, it can also mess with recognising people's age and gender or directions and locations). The clothes and hairstyles people wear change all the time and voices tend to sound similar. So no real permanent focal point. You usually have to go by dialogue, comparing it to past dialogues and clues you know about all the similar people you've met or be lucky enough to hear someone else use their name. Of course you can ask someone for their name or who they are but that is usually interpreted as you not caring enough about them to remember. Thought it's true that the main character was a bit frustrating, I personally chalked that up to her recent brain damage and the stress she was under too so I was more forgiving but I get if it impacts people's enjoyment.
I HOPE YOU LOVE THE BOOKS YOU FOUND FROM THIS LIST!! And I 1000% hear you, I think I could have been a lot more empathetic towards the FMC hahahah - I’m glad you liked it!! I like her writing and am excited for her 2024 release :-))

okay 150 books is such a great achievement! it was cool to see your thoughts on each one. I will be indulging in 'how it works out' and 'cinema love' when they come out cause they both sound so so good! the books that i read this year that i would buy full price are 'you don't have a shot' by racquel marie, 'the secret lives of church ladies' by deesha philyaw, and 'cantoras' by carolina de robertis. they were all just so beautifully written and had amazing sapphic realness!

My 2023 was a challenging year and tired one for my work in an hospital and it holds a lot of stress and sickness but also was a good one two because I made my dream big bookshelves and started to fill it with English books which is my passion in life. Anyway I thank God for the blessing that I have in this year and I will thank him every second and minute of my life because he stood by my side and he will for ever.

I've read like 20 books this year which is a mix mash of different reading media.
I picked up Yellowface after you talked about it. I'm currently on the tenth chapter and the MC June is very annoying but that was how she was intended. I'm just curious on when the moment of me saying "The audacity of this ***" will arrive.
Also, do you like indie/self-published e-books?

I think the books I read that would be in the Full Price category would be the Brandon Sanderson secret projects. Cause I definitely paid more than full price for those lovely books, and it was worth it. Also, I only post cat photos on instagram but I'll follow you and you'll know it's me cause I'm the one who admits in my bio that I only post cat photos.

i read the housemaid this year and i really didn't enjoy it. i didn't like the way it was written and the pacing was super weird. there is also a lot of filler stuff before the twist. but it is rated really well on storygraph so maybe it just wasn't for me. its just seemed like a thriller for people who have never read a thriller before.
