Him going over the receipt had me weak…I live in the US and I look at my receipts crazy too 😂 Continue to be patient with him though because moving to a western country is a super culture shock just like when you were in Korea ✨🙏🏽
I understand what he is saying because I live in the UK and our tax is added in the price already I had the same problem like Dom when I was on holiday in Canada it makes you feel like you are been cheated out of your money
I live in California where there is no food tax unless it's hot food. When I go Grocery shopping I never notice what I'm taxed, However when I clothes shop or buy items other than food I notice because it is 10 percent sales tax. If Dom loves pancakes you must let him know it is without a doubt the most easiest thing to make at home. The mix is already made all you have to do is add water or milk and in some cases an egg. I wonder how you make something that easy sound complicated. LOL. Good Luck Guys!
Yes I forgot about hot prepared foods are taxed. I remember (at Walmart) they charged me for distilled water and I had to get it from the isle where baby products are (formula). LOLOL I was in a hurry so I couldn’t argue with them.
Another term used to tax things is prepared food. If you buy the stuff un-prepared here you can avoid some taxes. Clothes and made items are taxed. And most shop s that use labor to make them is taxed
@@roamwithromy Fresh food is largely NOT taxed in Canada. Usually processed, packaged or refined foods are. Food that is considered essential like milk, eggs, bread are not taxed. But it varies by province. We don't add the price in to retail tags mostly as custom because we used to have a manufacturing tax that was replaced by the GST and that was always unknown and put onto manufacturers and then they would blindly pass it on to consumers when they added the GST, it was supposed to be transparent what was being taxed. You can still do that by leaving the whole price on the retail tag and calculate in your head how much was for GST and PST, Some retailers do add the whole price like in tourists shops you will see that or in restaurants in touristy towns because foreigners hate the guessing game lol
You should visit the Mainland, e.g. Vancouver, sometimes for more variety. The GST, TPS, etc are so frustrating! Add all that to the income tax where government takes close to half of your annual pay. Any wonder many Canadians can't save, buy a house, or retire? I love Canada, BC, and Victoria but it's been really hard in recent years. It's like you're working and getting salary increases just to be able to pay rent and buy food.
Tell Dom in the USA, we have lots of restaurants that have breakfast 24/7 or late hours...Waffle House, Roscoes Chicken &Waffles, Norms, Dennys and the list goes on!!!
I live in America and I we have IHOP and Denny's that serve breakfast all day. Also, I eat breakfast food a night too. The reason for breakfast is to break a fast.
@@roamwithromy it was believe me. Luckily my husband speaks German we had that hurdle solved. My challenge was raising children because I am Brazilian from an old fashion way of thinking lol. Just always remember to love each other.
US food- no tax, non food item -tax. Taxes go to different areas (local funding) Federal taxes (i.e. Social Security, Medicare etc. US has iHop, Denny’s, I think there may be other privately owned restaurants that have pancakes all day. You guys are funny and I love your content. FYI I love shopping at Walmart too.
@@roamwithromy by the time you travel to the US (are there tolls? ) there’s your non saving’s right there. What is your US/Canada border? Super Walmart are the best 😊
He made a good point, I bought put in the full price include tax in one price. It gets annoying to me sometimes as well, but it was so funny when you explained to him about the two dollars and then he asked again about the two dollars. It was so funny, but he will get used to it slowly by slowly.
I love living far from quick food too like that. We live 15 min drive from the city we are closest to with all the sit down restaurants and shopping stores but Walmart is 5 minutes from our house. We cook at home everyday.
Bless his heart. This is so funny 🤣🤣🤣. He's trying to get used to Western ways. He needs to understand and study economics of the countries that why the tax system are set up in a particular way. Taxes are collected for social and public programs. USA 🇺🇸.
Hello Beautiful couple!! I’m lol over the taxes.. welcome to North America!! Taxes in both Canada and America is what makes the world go around!!! Hang in there.. taxes take care of the Country.. hope that helps. I can’t wait to see part 2!!
Romy, sounds like you’re in trouble with them pancakes and messing up Dom’s clean kitchen during the process.😂😂😂😂 I have a great banana bread recipe, let me know if you want me to dm you. Dom can’t live in NY especially Long Island! Our state tax & Fed are 8.63%! Bad idea to add taxes to each item! For those who want to make certain their bills are correct, double checking while on line would be crazy😂😂😂 it’s done to separate state and federal taxes.
Your taxes are actually cheaper than ours 😭😭😭. I would love for you to send the banana bread recipe. I have to keep practicing to get better at cooking. You can dm me anytime 💜
You guys are so funny together, The way you guys are talking about what kind of pancakes to make and i can't wait to see the pancakes you're going to make. 😂
I had to comment twice because I didn’t watch the full video before commenting the first time but girl yeah husband is scared of your cooking. You better learn how to cook lol JP but anyway I want to see the pancake you made so hope you make a video of it., your husband is funny and you have places over here in the United States that you could get pancakes at night time not only just morning so clear that up with him honey
Love watching y’all! 💛 Question, do people give tips at restaurants in Korea? I was wondering what Dom may think of how some places have tips and gratuity lol
The federal charges your groceries?? Well every where has issues. I lobe in Florida so no state income tax nor tax on groceries but they get you with the insurances
Hi guys, I think that Dom is ok with taxes. France, Martinique I pay the cascher price written . Courage alors. Dom kap palé bon anglé , sa fem plézi li renmê Canada. 😍

It’s very shocking that only North America does this. I grew up thinking that this way is normal 😭

You’re so lucky to not get taxed on food. I wish that Canada would follow this logic. Anything concerning cooking is always complicated to me 🤣🤣🤣
