I built the latest branch and sure enough it works great! Much respect.
I haven't figured out how to attach vendor spice models to new components but I'm a total kicad noob so there you go.

I have the latest version of kicad installed but don't see a Simulator button in the tools menu. How do I install it?

Awesome! The tune feature is great! I prefer it to ploting a range of possibilities!

Complete newbie to spice in general. I've installed the nightly, however I'm having trouble simulating a DC circuit. My netlist is as follows:
    .title KiCad schematic
    RR1 VEE VCC 300
    .end
I know the nodes shouldn't be labelled VEE and VCC, why does KiCAD export it like this? Also, what do I use as a DC voltage sweep source?
    Thanks in advance

So cool! Hope to see that Kicad's simulator will be equal level as SaberRD...

how to plot for example, RMS or power or any operation on signal such in LTSpice? thanks a lot

Could you show what libraries were used for this ?

Having trouble seeing the signal, as the Y axis is like stuck at 1V and it doesn't auto-adjust by itself and neither does it let me do it manually.
Edit: I found the "solution". You have to click 4 times the signal when using the "add signal" button. It's clearly a bug.

Hello all ! I try to simulate the famous NE555, then I create a first layer internal discrete component using basic 2N3904 and 2N3906 transistor with spice model and on top hierarchy components for Astable configuration. Now I want to simulate the all circuit, but I don't know how to setup the ngspice script command into my design. Is there any body to help me on this ? I've the Kicad project available for more details. Any help would be appreciated. Regards. Vincent.

it would be great to integrate Modelica Language into KiCAD, or other way around ngspice into OpenModelica.

This is awesome. Still I wonder if there is a way to also deal with IBIS in the future. Some vendors don't provide spice models for their chips
and it seams that it is on the rise. For example TI releases their chips with .ibs IBIS file for a model. Looked for spice, but no dice.

I did not understand sentence at 1:03 about something something 'spice comment'. What does this mean? Apparently it is simple to type and it is ordinary.

I guess it is too late to answer but he said "I also specified the analysis type by simply typing spice command". It is very useful to take a look at subtitles (CC button) in such situations. Even auto-generated english subtitles are good nowadays.

Where do you find the AC voltage source? I don't see this device in the default libraries ...

    • @googleplussucks2490
      @googleplussucks2490 Před 7 lety

Just the normal "voltage source" model works, if you tell it to be AC.

I really like how the schematic entry looks. Can we edit and add symbols? However, the plots look not nearly as good. Is it possible to customize them (e.g. color of background, line widths, fonts..?

Just click play? Bullshit. I just spent several hours screwing around with Spice model files trying to find models for all the components in my schematic just to get the damn thing to run my schematic.
