Plunge through prehistory with wildlife adventurer Nigel Marven in this quick goofy edit. Source Material: Prehistoric Park Prehistoric Planet Life on Our Planet
God, this sends me back. I know Prehistoric Park has its flaws, but the premise and execution really makes it stand out to other prehistoric documentaries. I kinda wish another documentary would use a similar premise, if not basically update the original.
1:01 I don't like LOOP, but i GOTTA hand it to them, it has the best representation of the chicxulub impact in any major documentary. The effects job did such an incredible job with it, it's gorgeous looking and it really emphasizes the sheer power of an impact caused by a 12 kilometer asteroid.
I wish Nigel Marven could appear in a new paleo doc similar to Prehistoric Park. I know its a little outdated, but I wouldn't love dinosaurs the way I do if it wasn't for Prehistoric Park.❤
@@josej572 To be honest, I don't know. I love the styles of both Chased by Dinosaurs and Prehistoric Park. Probably something involving rescuing creatures like in Ph Park, but including more underwater and Paleozoic stuff. Maybe even wti villains added in just to make it more entertaining, as long as it doesn't take away from the educational bits.
Amazing! It's no exaggeration that Prehistoric Park in many ways shaped me into who I am today. It won't happen but I would love to see it somehow rebooted
"what if extinction didn't have to be forever". I mean the pyrenean ibex managed to briefly unextinct itself, and there's the Aldabra rail. Prehistoric Park is great, it's "what if jurassic park was done by people good at their jobs" apart from nigel who is also good at his job but keeps bringing back extra animals withou forewarning anyone. Note: i have not seen jurassic park.
Jurassic Park’s attempts were basically cloning the dinosaurs back into life using the DNA extracted from ancient mosquitoes trapped in amber that contains Dinosaur blood. Since the genomes aren’t complete the scientists have to use DNA from frogs to fill in the gaps, which only makes the dinosaurs close to the original species.
In case if you still haven't seen jp they used barriers meant to keep monsters inside instead of using actual zoo stuff such as ravines or just simple research.they feed a large predator goats and kept the raptors in a tiny pen and only fed them cattle.they put poisonous flora in a trike enclosure and allowed their brachis to get sick.the paras and the gallis are the only species we have no idea how they were taken care of only that the paras shared a paddock with the brachis
Well, looks like Life on Our Planet has some some positive uses after all! Also, great work splicing footage of Nigel Marven in Chile watching the more recent Titanosaurs. The ending with Bob didn't quite work for me, but loved the video overall!
Nostalgia hitting me like a bag of bricks. Still remember my hype when Nigel stumbled on the second Arthropleura right before returning to the present.
Nice recreation of Prehistoric Park but in a different style and different audio, looks amazing and I love it. Great work and keep it up. Life Finds A Way.
BRUH this is so well-edited, I didn't expect some of the shots to actually have Nigel and other elements composited into them. Beautiful work!!! Really takes me back and has me wishing a reboot would happen even more than I already did, even though that's unlikely.
I’m still waiting for a remake. Spinoff. Even a continuation of the show. I know the chances are low, but I’m hopeful. You must admit, this was a great & very unique show.
My ideas for Season 2 episodes: Raptor Attack: "In his next adventure, Nigel travels back to Mongolia 71 million years ago to rescue a pack of Velociraptors from an impending sandstorm, and pay a visit to an old vegetarian friend with gigantic, slashing claws. Meanwhile, it's feeding time for the Deinosuchus and the Tyrannosaurus siblings are becoming rowdy as usual." Animals rescued: 6 Velociraptors, 1 Therizinosaurus Who's Afraid of the Big, Bad Dire Wolf?: "In his next adventure, Nigel travels back to Los Angeles during the Ice Age to rescue a pack of one of the most famous prehistoric predators of all time, as well as one of the strangest herbivores of the Ice Age." Animals rescued: 6 dire wolves (1 named Akela), 1 ground sloth Sail Backs: "In his next adventure, Nigel travels back in time to the Permian to save a predator with a unique sail on its back: The Dimetrodon. Meanwhile, a fight breaks in the raptor pack to determine the new leader of the pack, and the crew must find a solution before one gets injured." Animals rescued: 2 Dimetrodons The Aquarium, Part 1:"In his next adventure, Nigel and his crew plan to create an aquarium section within Prehistoric Park. Nigel then travels back to both the Cambrian and the Devonian to rescue specimens before they become extinct." Animals rescued: 1 Anomalocaris, 8 trilobites, 2 Ichthyostega (found stranded and dehydrated on a drying swamp), 4 Cladoselache Modern animals obtained for the aquarium: Horseshoe crabs, nautilus, reef sharks, moray eels, and axolotls The Aquarium, Part 2: "In his next adventure, Nigel travels back to a Jurassic sea to rescue the Plesiosaurus, a real life Loch Ness Monster. Meanwhile, research was done to create new aquarium exhibits for large extinct species, and the dire wolves are mating." Animals rescued: 2 Plesiosaurus, 4 Rhamphorhynchus Return of the Dodo: "In his next adventure, Nigel travels back to Mauritius in a more recent time period, the late 1600s, to rescue one of the most famous extinct animals of all time, the dodo. Meanwhile on the park, it seems that love is in the air for the Dimetrodons." Animals rescued: 8 dodos Return to Hell's Aquarium: "In his next adventure, Nigel travels back to a familiar location during the Late Cretaceous to save some of the creatures during a storm. Meanwhile, a surprise comes to Prehistoric Park as two of the dodos laid eggs" Animals rescued: 1 Pteranodon (implied to be the one he befriended in Sea Monsters, named Timmy), 4 Hesperornis, 4 Halisaurus (found stranded, 1 died in Nigel's hands due to complications from internal injuries) Queen of the Snakes: "In his next adventure, Nigel travels back to Paleocene Colombia to rescue the largest snake ever, the Titanoboa. Meanwhile, disaster struck in the park as a heavy rain short circuits some exhibits." Animals rescued: 1 Titanoboa (named Medusa), 2 Carbonemys Friends for Theo: "In his next adventure, Nigel travels back to the Late Cretaceous to rescue four Triceratops to become new friends for Theo. Meanwhile, it's vaccination time for the animals of the park, both extinct and modern." Animals rescued: 4 Triceratops (rescued from a flooding river), 4 Nyctosaurus (nearly drowned in the same river) The Legendary Bird: "In his next adventure, Nigel travels back to Pleistocene New Zealand to rescue the most impressive bird of prey of all time, the Haast's eagle. Meanwhile, the park has good news: The dodo eggs hatched into two mischievous dodo chicks, and the dire wolves had a new addition to the pack." Animals rescued: 1 Haast's eagle, 2 giant moa The Outback: "In his next adventure, Nigel travels back to Pleistocene Australia to rescue some of the strangest creatures from prehistory. But two unexpected visitors suddenly came with him." Animals rescued: 3 Procoptodons (giant kangaroos), 2 Diprotodons, 2 Megalanias (devil dragons), 2 thylacines (the unexpected visitor, were trying to steal some meat intended to lure the Megalanias) Modern animals obtained for the Australian exhibit: Red kangaroos, frilled lizards, wombats, bulldog ants, and Sydney funnel web spiders The Demon: "In his next adventure, Nigel travels back in time to Cretaceous Argentina to rescue one of the strangest carnivorous dinosaurs of all time: The Carnotaurus. Meanwhile, the thylacines are trying to adjust to their new exhibit in the park and it's feeding time for Medusa the Titanoboa." Animals rescued: 3 Carnotaurus The Lion of the Jurassic: "In his next adventure, Nigel travels back to near the end of the Jurassic to rescue some of the most famous dinosaurs. Meanwhile, the park's crew discusses about the opening of Prehistoric Park to the public." Animals rescued: 2 Allosaurus, 3 Stegosaurus, 1 Ceratosaurus The Walking Whale: "In his next adventure, Nigel travels back to Eocene Pakistan to rescue the ancestors of all whales and dolphins from a toxic environment. Meanwhile, the Dimetrodon eggs have hatched and Theo is now playing with the other Triceratops." Animals rescued: 2 Ambulocetus (rescued from a red tide, required antidotes to cure them from algae toxins) The Park is Open: "In his final adventure, Nigel brings back one of the largest mammals to live on land as well as what can be described as "pigs from Hell". And the park is now open to the public." Animals rescued: 3 Indricotheriums, 4 entelodonts
You did a good job editing making this especially when Nigel looks through binoculars to see a mother glyptodon at 0:31 and when he sees some sauropods at 0:35 and when the woolly mammoth herd instead of one walk through the time portal at 0:44 and looking through binoculars to see T-Rexes at 0:52 and the Titaniosaurs in their enclosure at 1:06 that was perfect AI and speaking of Al imagine if AI gives us the ability to invent the Time Machine to go back in time to see all kinds of Prehistoric Life.

I agree, and it is by far the most accurate of the mass-extinctions featured in show (apart from the galloping sauropod bit hehe).
