As Beefy's rival and best friend Kapil Dev rightly put it:
Imran succeeded coz he worked hard on his game. By his own confession he wasn't as talented so he maximised what he had.
Hadlee succeeded coz he was determined and single minded in his approach, like a machine programmed to accomplish the job.
But Botham succeeded coz "he enjoyed every moment of the game. Victory or defeat was secondary to him".

1977 to 1980 and 1981 to 1985 he was supreme. England had no business winning the 81 ashes series. But they did because of him.

Difference between Botham and Stokes. Botham better bowler and Stokes better Batsman. 😉

🤗Before going through your Review, views on Sir I.T. Botham, I express mine quickly: 👍No other fast(-medium) bowling, counter-attacking, modern batsman down the middle-order could be identified as an essential close-in expert, lightning in fielding reflexes and well entrenched in his feats,👉reflected in records for all to see! Alongside R.N. Kapil Dev, I.K. Niazi, Sir R.J. Hadlee, he was one of the irrepressible allrounders genuine.👏💎All of them (the 4) were power-houses of one kind or the other,😍as you find in Decathlon.😮😶Awe, we get to, proverbial 'on their day'! 😇Captaincy, success in such stints, another matter.
😀Fifteen years down, came Jacques Kallis, bat-more than a bowl and a terrific out-fielder; flashy, yet solid Chris Cairns; and later, Andrew Flintoff, thunderbolt fashioner as is the current Ben Stokes. Yet, the earlier generation Quartet of Allrounders was greater, each one so.✍🤗
🤔The one short-coming he (Sir I.T.B.) might have had was facing the battery of West Indian pacers when they bowled in tandem. But then, not one allrounder could consistently, at home and in away games, match the 4-6 Windies fast bowlers who attacked as a pack;🤨Gomes, Richards were the relief-to-bat against slow ones who too were among the wickets, decently so! Is that all? Sunil Gavaskar, Martin Crowe, Peter Willey managed dignity in the order said, saving the face of their respective Team-Nations against the Caribbean blitz.

He was great until 1985.After that he got a game on reputation only. The greatest decline of any great cricketer.
