Let's see, I'm trying to think of other theories I've seen that haven't been covered in either video yet:
    - "Dess is Trapped in the Code" - Dess is the character speaking in the "unused" dialogue in Deltarune's files ("it's so dark", etc.). I've heard it argued that this dialogue in Japanese has a similar speaking style to Noelle's, implying it could be from someone related. The person in the dialogue sounds lost so that could line up with Dess' situation. The fact that this dialogue is translated despite not appearing in-game implies it is important
    - "Gas Leak Theory" - This is mostly a meme but I've seen some people believe it. Basically the idea is that Kris didn't open a fountain at the end of Ch 2 and instead struck a gas line, arguing that Chapter 2's ending is meant to be a fake-out like Chapter 1's ending was
    - "Double Door Theory" - I think you alluded to this idea once or twice, but just the idea that double doors in the light world are more likely to lead to dark worlds, given that the computer lab's design was changed between Ch 1 and 2 to give it double doors.
    - "Sans is from Deltarune" - The idea that the Sans from Undertale is the same Sans from Deltarune, usually with the implication that he experienced Deltarune's events before Undertale's. In Undertale he seemingly makes reference to being from somewhere that isn't the underground or the surface, and the River Person alludes to "the man from the other world"
    - "Suzy is the Undertale version of Susie" - Rather simple and arguably proven correct? Clamgirl, who appears during certain FUN events in Waterfall, will mention a character named "Suzy" who's Frisk's age and hints that she might be the reason Frisk came to the Underground. In the Switch version of UT Clamgirl has a chance of saying the time to meet Suzy is "fast approaching" before turning into a goner. This was right before Chapter 1 released.
    - "Pie Theory" - A theory that was proven correct but was prevalent in the fanbase when Chapter 1 came out---the idea that Kris wasn't going to use their knife to hurt anyone and was instead going to eat the pie that Toriel made.
    - "Sans is a Darkner" - Two Left Thumbs has a popular video on this. It was a Chapter 1 theory but at the time there was a surprising amount of evidence for it. Seems less likely now.
    - "Gerson will be Revived as a Darkner" - The most popular iteration of this theory is Jaru's Knight theory, but this theory doesn't necessarily involve the Knight. It's just the idea that Alvin will put Gerson's hammer in a dark world and the dust on the hammer will create a darkner that resembles Gerson.
    - "Third Entity" - Not sure if you mentioned this already, but the idea that there's another entity controlling Kris independently of the player. Mentioned by Andrew Cunningham in his Kris theory video, but it's meant to explain why Kris opens a dark fountain in their house regardless of route.

If you continue this series, I recommend the Susie Human Society theory.
This theory basically just goes that Susie grew up in a majority human town before moving to Hometown. This could explain why she uses everybody bleeds as an expression, and gives her story a parallel to Kris’s story. It would also explain why Susie seems so self conscious about her tail. It’s genuinely one of the strongest theories I’ve seen in the community.
An important note is that Susie Human Society is *not* the half human Susie theory. The theories both definitely intersect and the half human theory builds heavily off of Susie Human Society, but the original SHS theory works well as a standalone and in most context I’ve seen it in, it is not related to the half human theory.

this may or may not age really badly. if chapter 3's main antagonist isn't a rook then that's a pretty fatal flaw. and considering we'll get chapter 4 at the same time and chapter 4's boss may not be the piece after the rook. which would completely destroy this theory. it is for now only flawless because we only have 2 chapters. queen may only be called queen because she is related to king in some way. only time will tell.

  • @Azariy0
    @Azariy0 Před 8 měsíci +1

It was pretty cool to see someone mention chess in the deltarune community, it doesn't get mentioned that much at all. Though, it was pretty funny because you made a few mistakes in your explanations, like that you mixed up the rook and the bishop on the picture. I could also nitpick other points you made. The rook *could* come into play after the pawn in front of it has fallen, but it happens rarely. (The act of advancing or sacrificing that pawn is called "a flank pawn attack.") The rook, most commonly, comes into play after you castle. Castling wouldn't make sense here because then we would have to assume that Mike had interacted with King while we were playing, and we just didn't see it. Also, promotion doesn't work in chess like you described. When a pawn reaches the last rank, it doesn't get promoted into the next piece, instead you get a choice between promoting it into a knight, a bishop, a rook, and a queen. Most of the time the choice is obvious. Hmm, now that I think about it, it would be pretty interesting if we would be given a choice like that. We would be drawn towards choosing the queen, as she's the most powerful, but that would be a bad decision because maybe we had to do something that would require the movement that only the knight has.
    Yeah.

    9:48 Ideas for politics theory
Ch3: a character that was friends with Spamton (let's say it is Mike) was living the big life thanks to Spamton's success. But after Spamton fell, so did Mike. Soon after, Mike starts to get calls from the mystery man (let's say it is gaster). after the call, Mike goes insane (like literally everyone else) and starts to hate money, because it represents his losses and it is pointless in the world. When we meet him, he asks Kris to share his soul.
Ch4: in this dark world, the king rules with an iron fist thanks to his loyal Rook, who you will fight at the end of the chapter (in order to align with chess theory). However, a darkener (let's call him sb4) wants to overthrow the king. But he needs a lot of power to kill the Rook and the king. Where is this power located? Hint: it is red and heart shaped.
Ch5: sb5 was a former soldier, who was very important in a civil war. However his friend took all the credit, and he got none of the fame. This, combined with a call from Dr. "wicked drip" gaster, made him go mad.
I would appreciate some more ideas from you guys.

Ralsei being the red headband would actually explain why he looks like asriel - because the headband represented how kris saw themselves as a monster. When they put it on, they felt like they looked like a monster, like their family. So if the headband was a representation of Kris's monsterness, it would make sense that it would manifest as the same kind of goat monster as the rest of the Dreemurs.

    • @KyrieFortune

Hell, Ralsei being the headband would explain why his name is Ralsei: Kris was a child at the time who are notoriously not very good with coming up with names, and they're the child of Asgore, who sucks at names to a ridiculous degree. Ralsei is an anagram of Asriel not because he's Asriel, but because Kris could only come up with an anagram for their monstersona

    a few other theories i like :
the theory that in deltarune's world, the war between humans and monsters still happened, but the monsters actually won this time, which explains why it takes place with everyone on the surface, and is the reason why Kris is the only human we ever see or hear of in all of deltarune. because presumably, either all the humans were killed off in the war somehow, or they're sealed away somewhere just like how the monsters of undertale were (possibly in the bunker?)
the theory that Noelle's mom is the Knight, because the entire Holiday family seems to be of importance and connected to the Dreemurr family in a couple ways. assuming noelle's parents could possibly be boss monsters as well, and the fact that we haven't even seen Noelle's mom yet, she could possiby be the knight
and my favorite theory, that ralsei was the lone survivor of the first incident of "The Roaring" and that he survived because he isn't actually from the dark world originally. i heard of this theory from a video by BanditGamers and it honestly makes a TON of sense. why would ralsei know about the roaring if it supposedly wiped out an entire dark world's worth of darkners and ralsei supposedly IS a darkner? wouldnt he have died? not if he isn't fully a darkner! it also explains why he is a lone prince with zero subjects (his past subjects all got consumed by the darkness from the roaring), and he is now waiting alone to fulfill the prophecy/legend and make sure the roaring never happens again. when he brings it up at the end of chapter 2, he seems uncharacteristically serious and concerned, almost as if the roaring is personal to him. it also explains why ralsei seems to be the only darkner we've seen that can travel between different dark worlds other than his own.

In Deltarune Chapter 2, early on in the Cyber World is an editable Cyberpedia entry. Reading it once is a tip, but after that, it is replaced with dialogue that says, "from now on, susie rules, ralsay drools." This mispelling of Ralsei's name reveals how Ralsei's name is pronounced.

Last theory. Asriel will come in chapter 7. In chapter 1, toriel mentions that asriel will visit in a week, 7 days. Each chapter is one day. He has to appear in the beginning or end of the chapter. Given that chapter 7 is probably the last chapter, I think that something big will happen involving him. I have a feeling that asriel will join the party and fight alongside the team, like noelle did in chapter 2 with special abilities. And if that happens, he probably will have special abilities like noelle had iceshock, sleep mist, and snowgrave.

The Delta Rune that the prophecy seems to be based off of. The one that shows up basically everywhere in Undertale and Deltarune. It seems to contain more than the prophecy is telling us so far. Its design is simple. 3 triangles, a circle, 2 wings. 1 of the triangles points down. This design foreshadows something, though. The two triangles facing up represent Kris and Susie. The downward facing triangle represents Ralsei. The Human, The Monster, and The Prince of the Dark. However, this design foreshadows that we'll need a fourth person: The Angel. We need an angel to banish the Angel's Heaven.

When Kris drinks the Ralsei tea, Susie sees no reaction coming out of Kris.
Same reaction to them drinking their own tea.

I have a theory that I wanted to share. So, you know how Deltarune highly encourages you to play Undertale first? At first, I thought that was weird because although they have characters in common, they're all only in the Light World, and since most of the game takes place in the various Dark Worlds, all the undertale characters are only side characters. You could easily play through the game without knowing who they are. But when you play Deltarune, you notice some differences in the characters. Undyne and Alphys barely even know each other, Bratty and Catty are enemies instead of best friends, and Mettaton is still a ghost instead of having their robot body. And you already see all those little interactions with the characters, like when Undyne asks you to give Alphys the chocolates, and you can choose to keep them or give them to Alphys, or when Mettaton asks you to bring him entertainment. My theory is that in future chapters, you will have to choose between giving the different characters getting their happy ending. For example, maybe to help Mettaton build his new body, you have to get Alphys to come to Mettaton's house to help instead of having her spend time with Undyne. You would have to choose between helping Alphys and Undyne get to know each other again or helping Mettaton get his new robot body. That would explain why you're really encouraged to play Undertale first, because if you don't play Undertale first, then those choices wouldn't have the same emotional weight.

My theory/prediction is that there is, in fact, only one true ending and only one way to get there. And doing so makes all the "optional" content required to proceed past a roadblock in a later chapter. Pacifist run: required. Weird route: required. Super "secret" bosses: required. Once you reach the roadblock you'll be given a cheat sheet of all the steps needed to click your choices and items into the only right way to reach the ending.

so if the ralsei is asriel theory is true (which i still highly believe its the case, as its the most likely still), that means that asriel's horns go from white to pink/red when entering the dark world (not only that, but that the headband theory makes no sense as ralsei didnt get turned to stone like lancer and rouxls kaard, nor did they get worried of being turned into one)

I can see the anagram thing for Susie specifically being a thing. Because her name was spelled as "Suzy" in Undertale when you spoke to Clam Girl, but he probably changed it to fit the new anagram.
Similar to how he changed Ralse (probably derived from "False" which is one of the states of a Boolean variable in logic and programming) to Ralsei which as we know fits as an anagram for Asriel. Which in turn comes from Asgore + Toriel. And of course Toriel references the word "tutorial".
Toby clearly messes around with his characters' names so the Susie = Issue thing would not surprise me.

    @i010001 Před rokem +3

Do you mind some theory from some rando nobody like me? Apologies, this game has been giving me brainworms, you see, and I am obsessed and have weird interpretations of stuff.
    Fallen Angel Ralsei Theory:
So, I'd like to start this by saying a few things. First, this is not the same as Ralsei being Evil - this is this idea that Ralsei is a fallen angel, most likely Satan either literally or as a parallel. But, this is a JRPG - a genre absolutely full of heroic demons and evil angels. Ralsei might be evil, Ralsei might be Satan, but one does not necessarily mean the other.
Second, I'd like the lay some groundwork. In Undertale, the prophecy of the Deltarune, as described by Gerson, is said vaguely but is stated to be the following:
"That emblem actually predates written history.
The original meaning has been lost to time...
All we know is that the triangles symbolize us monsters below, and the winged circle above symbolizes...
    Somethin' else.
Most people say it's the 'angel,' from the prophecy..."
    "Oh yeah... The prophecy.
Legend has it, an 'angel' who has seen the surface will descend from above and bring us freedom.
Lately, the people have been taking a bleaker outlook...
Callin' that circle the 'Angel of Death.'
A harbinger of destruction, waitin' to 'free' us from this mortal realm...
In my opinion, when I see that little circle...
I jus' think it looks neat!
    Wahaha!"
...Although this angel has been commonly associated with Frisk, if you know your mythology, this is unmistakably Asriel. In mythology, the angel Azrael is most commonly presented as an Angel of Death (though this is actually only on some versions of the legend) who guides souls to the afterlife. To wit, you battle Asriel both as Photoshop Flowey - an eldritch, unknowable entity with multiple faces - and as Asriel Dreemur - a calf-faced being in a robe and bearing angel wings. Asriel's return also means both of these versions of the prophecy come true: Asriel is a harbringer of destruction who harvests the souls of every monster in the underground, killing them. He also descends from above and brings the monsters their freedom. This, especially the emphasis on him being an Angel of Death, seems intentional. And it also means that Toby Fox knows his mythology, and will incorporate it.
Like Asriel, Ralsei has... Well, a number of parallels, and a number of suspicious elements, which will fall into place if you consider the idea that he is a fallen angel.
1 - Meeting Ralsei, and his Kingdom
The "Dust World" is a rather strange place. It is covered in eyes and oozing orifices, with a questionable resemblance to a closet and a large amount of dust plumes (associated with death) and strange imagery. What's more is that going through this area is a continuous descent - never once do you go up until you meet him. What's more, even Ralsei's castle is noted to be "below" the castle-town, not above as you would expect a castle to be.
In other words, Ralsei resides in a castle at the very bottom of this strange, destitute area, driven by a fountain of darkness.
Then, you meet Ralsei. And when you do, his introduction is curious; he first introduces himself outside of the text box:
    "Welcome, heroes...!"
    Susie: Who's there!?
"Do not be alarmed... I am not your enemy."
This is stated in a manner we have not seen replicated outside of large, important moments, with text dominating the screen. It also happens to be very similar to the tendency of mythological angels to introduce themselves with "Be not afraid." This is very notable, because, again, Asriel is his clear parallel and he also had angel symbolism.
When the party approaches, Ralsei stands where he is wearing a hood, standing atop the Deltarune - the symbol of an angel, and the symbol of the town's religion. And, also, the symbol of the prophecy. We hear the prophecy, and are told how we must band together and work to banish the Angel's Heaven. When he reveals himself, he is a goat. You learn he is the Prince of the Kingdom of Darkness - a Dark prince.
Though the obvious association to Ralsei are the other boss monsters, we have all forgotten that the imagery they take - Those of magic-using, anthropomorphic, goat-like creatures who are often shown with fire magic or tridents/pitchforks - are iconography which take heavily from generically satanic imagery.

Taken all together, we descend to a dark but magical place far beneath the earth, we meet a person who introduces himself like an angel. That person is a talking goat, who beacons us forward to banish heaven with him. That person introduces himself in various permutations of a "Prince of Darkness." When we finally meet him properly, we find he is a remarkably charming and convincing individual who will aid and guide us into walking along his path.
Then, we see his other features. Red horns, like a devil headband - or, like Satan. Red eyes...
In any other scenario, it would be unquestionable that this person was Satan.
I'd also like to mention a few weird things in this kingdom. It is mentioned that his fountain is one of "Pure Darkness." Within his castle, the doors all have an "Angel" theme. One door, the central one in the ground floor of his castle, has six wings - this, too, is the sign of a traditional and high-ranking angel. He also welcomes us into his castle with rooms formed to our desires.
    (Continued in reply...)

    • @i010001
      @i010001 Před rokem +1

      2 - Assorted Weirdness
By now, we know that Ralsei knows far, far more than he seems like he should. People have observed that he leans on the fourth wall about knowing just how long the release between Chapter 1 and 2 have been. He acts weird after the Spamton fight. In the Weird Route, there is a chance he can turn to look directly at the camera, and attempts to refuse a response if you show him the thorn ring - implying he knows exactly what you have done, even when he should have absolutely no idea and no one could have told him. He knows about save systems and gives you tutorials. He has a knowledge of game systems to the point that he named his castle town after the player - not Kris, but the player. So, he clearly knows what is going on.
If we look to angel mythology, there is an answer to this. Angels have a clairvoyance - though they cannot see the future, but are aware of all that has happened and know all the knowledge of the world implicitly, including the matters of heaven. One thing an angel cannot know is the inside of a human mind, as our inner thoughts are our own and our decisions are our own.
If Ralsei is an angel - fallen or otherwise - it would explain ALL of his weirdness. Why does he seem to know intimately the systems of the game up through the name we put in and the things we did when he was not around? He is an angel, and these are things angels would know. How can he tell exactly where the soul is, at all times? He is an angel, and can see things as they happen. Why is he, despite this seeming knowledge, so utterly ignorant to what would comfort us at times, and so socially awkward? Because he is an angel - and they do not know the human mind. Why does he emphasize how our choices matter? Perhaps to an angel, that is the only thing which does. Why does he neglect to tell us important information? Because he knows everything - he may well think some of that is implicit to others as well! Why can Ralsei travel to other Dark Worlds even though he is a darkner? Perhaps because he's neither Darkner or Lightner, but an Angel instead?
There's other weird things as well.
If you give Susie a Hearts Donut, it heals a lot and she things the blood inside is cool. Kris and Noelle both are horrified at the idea of eating a heart. Ralsei? Ralsei heals a medium amount, and simply says it's sticky - the only one to be totally ambivalent towards eating a heart. This is baffling - Unless, perhaps, he is a satanic archetype.
He will also outright say "I'm a good devil, okay?" if given the Jevilstail, though that may not be something you should take as evidence.
At one point, the King outright calls us "Lightbringer -" as in, the literal meaning of "Lucifer," the angel who rebelled against god (Do note that the King also merely assumes we are the leader - perhaps Ralsei was meant to be the target of that insult, but his form was mistaken for a normal darkner.) On the other hand, Kris was noted to run around with a red horn headband - often noted to be very much like Ralsei
And, though this is speculation - take a look at Ralsei's outfit in Chapter 2. That's not his robe! It ends at his shoulder blades! And that's not a heart on his chest. Doesn't it, perhaps, look rather like a pair of overlapped wings, with devil-like hooks on it's front?
Take a look at how our enemies have mentioned holy power or heaven - King calls the fountains "Holy Fountains." Berdly uses a "Holy Halberd." Our goal is to banish the Angel's Heaven. The supposed "Dark Mantle" in the code, the Sky Mantle, is supposed to protect us from Holy and Lightning, and is said to be important. Spamton is obsessed with getting to Heaven.
But, us? We have the Prince of Darkness. We are a social misfit and a bully everyone thinks is a sadist on our side. We are interested in occult magic, or not interested in magic at all. The entire party loves scary things.
On that subject, isn't it odd that - of all people - the bully and the weird kid into occultism and dark magic would be the heroes of prophecy? Well, maybe it makes sense if what you are actually up against is heaven?
Finally, although this does not mean anything directly, so far Ralsei has had three separate face reveals - That bears mention
3 - The Titan Connection, Hells Roar, and prophecies
A few events and phrases have been... Suspicious. Let me break them down.
If you beat Jevil by violence, he says the following amid his dialogue:
"SOON, THE "QUEEN" RETURNS, AND HELL'S ROAR BUBBLES FROM THE DEPTHS...
      LIGHTNERS, CAN YOU STOP IT?"
This refers to the Roaring, which goes as follows:
"When the LIGHT is subsumed by SHADOW
When the FOUNTAINS fill the sky
      All will fall into CHAOS.
The TITANS will take form from the FOUNTAINS
And envelop the land in devastation.
The surviving Darkners, crushed by the darkness
Will slowly, one by one, turn into statues...
Leaving the Lightners to fend for themselves.
Lost eternally in an endless night...
Is that your idea of paradise?"
Taken together, this associates the Roaring - the part where darkness subsumes the land - with Hell. This is interesting.
But, going back to mythology, it's not the only connection. In Greek/Roman Mythology, Tartarus is a deep abyss and a dungeon for torment - and the prison for the Titans. Tartarus is also sometimes used in Christian mythology as the place where fallen angels are cast too. Although some mythology nerds or devout might argue, most more pop cultural sources see parity between Tartarus and Hell. For example, in The Sandman:
"Once upon a time, there was a place that wasn't a place. It had many names: Avernus, Gehenna, Tartarus, Hades, Abaddon, Sheol... it was an inferno of pain and flame and ice, where every nightmare had come true long since. We'll call it Hell."
      - Neil Gaiman, The Sandman (1989)
The point, overall, is that Hell/Tartarus? That's where both Titans are, and Fallen Angels are. And in Deltarune's context, the darkness will bubble up from the depths (of Hell?) and form into the titans.
Is it loose? Yeah. But it's only as loose as Asriel being an Angel of Death.
4 - Building off it all
      Lets build off that:
There are Seven Deltarune chapters, and if there are Seven Dark Worlds within them, that's Seven Circles.
In the apocalypse, Archangel Michael, the military leader of the angels, is fated to fight Satan in the form of a humanoid or a dragon
Or maybe... Ralsei has simply gained quite a lot of devil influence from being Kris' old red headband
...What all this means really can't be said. But, you know... There are definite "Angel" things going on. If Asriel can be an angel of prophecy who is, well, rather a villain? Than perhaps Ralsei can be his total opposite: A fallen angel turned devil, eternally kind, patient, and friendly.
      5 - Rasiel
Finally, I leave you with an alternative. Ralsei is still an angel, but... Well, a different kind of one. There is another angel, named Rasiel or Raziel
"Raziel, under the alternate name Gallitsur, "Revealer of The Rock", is described as the "ruling prince of the 2nd Heaven". He is said to expound the clear teachings of the "Torah's divine wisdom" and protects the ministering angels from the living creatures that uphold the universe."
The "Living Creatures" here are beings covered in eyes who uphold the firmament of heaven; thus he has to keep them in place. It could be read as similar to the Titans. Raziel is also noted to have written a book to guide humans, similar to the Manual you are given
...Buuut, these days I'm more partial to Ralsei being some kind of fallen angel/devil

    Thoughts on Chess Theory:
Following this logic, I propose a very, very interesting path of events.
In chess, there are a king, a queen, 8 pawns, and 2 of each of bishop, rook, and knight.
A king doesn't move until the end and can't move far, like Chaos King in Chapter 1.
A queen can move freely anywhere, like in Chapter 2.
Chapter 3: If we see 2 main antagonists in this chapter, Chess Theory is golden. Perhaps both Mike and Tenna, as a tag team? And for Rook, rooks in chess move strictly in a line. Perhaps the party will be chased and accosted by the media or paparazzi in Chapter 3, and have to constantly hide down alleyways.
Chapter 4: Two bishops appear. Much like the prior, they work in tandem based on their movement in chess; diagonals that rooks don't cover. Constantly appearing out of corners and hidden spaces, the party will be constantly judged by them.
Chapter 5: The Knight. Or should I say, the Knights. The idea of 2 knights working together opens a TON of possibilities for the Knight. Gaster and Papyrus? Kris and Ralsei? Father Alvin and a Darkner-turned Gerson? The world's your oyster, moving left once and forward twice towards the Roaring.
Chapter 6: Kris is promoted as a third Knight, and either breaks free of being the Player's pawn, or becomes immensely powerful even under the Player's control (whichever makes your choices matter less).
Chapter 7: All the big reveals come to fruition, and the climax of the story unfolds. Maybe Gaster will finally have a moment in the light?

How could kris NOT be the knight we literally see him creating a fountain, and also, about the noelle and berdly, maybe when the fountain was sealed it put them there, just like with kris and Susie, the fountain put them in front of the tables.

    • @gopherthegold8722
      @gopherthegold8722 Před rokem +1

I agree, people put too much weight into where Noelle and Berdley are standing after the fountain is sealed. As for how they fell in to it, they likely had a similar experience to Kris and Susie’s first time falling in, where it just seems like a really big dark room at first, and then the floor falls away.
I absolutely don’t buy the idea that someone jumped out of the closet and made the dark fountain while the two of them were studying and they just stood there while the room filled with darkness and also the “knight” just ran out of the room and neither of them recognized it. It just doesn’t make sense at all. And that’s the only evidence that Kris isn’t the knight. I do however believe that Kris isn’t in total control of their actions when making that fountain in the living room.

There are supposed to be at least two jester cards in a card deck so jevil could have a sibling (wait hold on the other jester could have a nickname called mike so they don’t look like they are from another dark fountain yk)

I know this isnt exactly on topic of theories but it is on topic of deltarune, i cabt decide if i want to go back and do the jevil fight or not. Obviously i need to eventually for whatever route changes come from having all of the dark crystals, but i alwo want to compare/contrast my experience with those who HAVE collected all of the crystals?? I did do the spamton fight because that one was intuitive to follow, but since I never figured put the Jevil puzzle ingame (to be fair i was sick while playing chapter 1) i just never went back for it either.

okay... this theory is like... really weird and it has a lot of gaps but i'm just putting out there as half a joke. i'm sure a lot of people have thought of this too.
ralsei is asriel. i don't really mean as the headband, but literally as him. everyone thinks he's been off to college but he's actually been in the dark world the whole time. something that stood out to me was that characters who are dead in the pacifist ending of undertale, are still dead in deltarune. i.e. the amalgamates and the souls from the fallen humans. any super memorable monsters in undertale are seen in deltarune, we know asriel was stuck in the underground at the end of undertale, this may be a reference to him being stuck in the dark world as well. when kris and susie entered the dark world their appearance changed, asriel a couldve too once he stumbled into the dark world. everyone knows ralsei is an anagram for asriel. he doesn't seem like the others there, he seems more like kris and susie, and it's obvious he knows more than what he's leading on. another thing is when everyone got captured by the queen, they all had rooms with their names on it. we know ralsei also got taken away despite not being in a cage, they still must've taken him in order for him to become a lil butler. yet we see a room with the name asriel, what if queen knows his real name, and it's not ralsei, so she put asriel on the door instead? idk it's just a bunch of random crap my brain thought of suddenly, i really kinda hope he's not kris's brother bc i've kinda been shipping them subconsciously bc i love ralsei and you have to play as kris, but the most toby's let us get is like hugs, which isn't weird between siblings (at least some).
idk i personally like the idea that he's the headband, but asriel literally DIED in undertale, why did he escape death in deltarune? i mean his soul inhabited the flower in undertale, but what's the excuse in deltarune? maybe if asriel somehow became attached to the headband like, in a soulful way other that kris's imagination, that would explain how he survived. but it's so creepy, like why is asriel just off the college, yet we find eastereggs about him throughout the chapters?
anyways that's it. i like the headband theory more lol but i thought i'd get it out there in case anyone wanted to read

I think that Ralsei is the golden locket. Like Chara and asriel had those in undertale, Kris and Asriel have them in this game. that's the reason why Ralsei looks so much like Asriel, because there is a photo of him in the locket

    • @bird.brainsss
      @bird.brainsss Před rokem

this would also explain the crush on Kris. the dark fountain takes Asriel being in a golden heart locket as some kind of lover of Kris, not imagining that they would put there brother in it

I think Ralsei IS Kris. Rather, a perfect version of him. There's a motif with Kris always being second. It goes as far as Kris actually being second best in class since Berdly gets his help from Noelle. At home you can find crayons from long ago, but the green one is just missing. And then there's the headband. Where it gets interesting, is that Kris doesn't seem to like Ralsei that much, or at least he avoids him (which, if it's true, makes all those hugs even more uncomfortable... Kris doesn't like them to begin with)
Ralsei probably looks like Asriel exactly because that's who Kris wanted to be. Toby could even go into the territory of Kris wanting to look like a Monster, so that he could belong
It is interesting when exactly the change happened so that Kris didn't want to be Ralsei anymore. If I had to guess, probably it's all somehow connected to Dess, but that's just me wanting to these two affect each other
