    I’m a converted jew,.when I watched this video, I was reading the Tanach ( Old Testament
    ), and I couldn’t connect why we needed messias if we’re good people. Then, I read a comment in here and this person said that nobody’s good bc we all have done some kind of sin even unintentionally. Reading that comment made me connected the facts. Than I was kind already understanding Jesus and read his bible. Thanks to this person comment, I’m now a Christian since 2018.

And then the man should him the passage. He remembered when he was younger and actually practiced his Jewish faith the Isaiah was OT. Now he is a brilliant preacher/teacher/man walking with the Lord

    Even after 21 years , this is still so relevant. I love the Jewish people and Israel but the behavior of these two rabbis is not surprising. Blind to the Gospel. I also think it was Chilling what the older rabbi stated towards the end when Larry King asked what he was looking for in the Messiah. Perfect example of why the Jews will accept the Antichrist when he comes on the scene.

    The younger Rabbi said he "loved" Islam as one of many "Beautiful" religions? This man doesn't hate Islam for wanting to destroy Israel? I swear to you, a lie is a sin. And if you break one commandment, you have broken them all. Did he lie about "loving" Islam? Yes, I so know he did. And the use of Jewish "Symbols?" They are still waiting for a messiah that will vindicate their faith. The reason Jesus was rejected by the Jews was because the Jews wanted the Messiah to wipe out the Romans like God wiped out the Egyptians and fell the walls of Jericho.. They wanted a military leader. Jesus wiped out all sin. All of it. Jesus wiped out death. Eternal life matters more than the land you happen to be squatting on. Jesus fulfilled on scripture on God the father's own terms. Praise be the Lord for loving us rebellious sinners.

      The commandment is,
      "Thou shalt no bear false witness against thy neighbor"
      The Rabbi did not condemn anyone falsely, he was simply trying not to condemn anyone else's religion, even Islam.
      My personal opinion is that you can call virtually any system a "religion". Islam, especially Radical Islamic Jihad is more of a Totalitarian Theocratic ideology of worldwide conquest.
      Look how Shaaria Law is being imposed in European cities like Brussels as the Muslim birthrate is 4 times higher than the European birthrate of 1.3 children per woman.

      The Jews flocked to Yeshua. Sometimes he took his talmidim/disciples away to a quiet place for a rest. It is patently NOT TRUE that “the Jews rejected Jesus.” The Jewish leaders who had their positions threatened by His message rejected Him, but they were not the majority. After His death, the Jewish people mourned and grieved over Him. After His resurrection, tens of thousands of Jews “became obedient” to faith in the Messiah.
      The continual repetition of the lie that “the Jews rejected their Messiah” perpetuates falsehood. People should stop.
      Read chapter 6 of the book The Separation of Church and Faith: Copernicus and the Jews by Daniel Gruber for more details on how the people came to Him.

    Rabbi Hier's words are telling, when he talks about the Shoah and no one (Christian) spoke out against what was going on. Our people in Holland were helped by the Ten Boom family. I can appreciate and respect what rabbis Boteach and Hier are saying, but they are conveniently forgetting about such actions of people like the Ten Boom family (who have been honoured in Yad Vashem with the title of Righteous Among The Nations). Let's make one thing clear, the track record of the church throughout history isn't the greatest in it's treatment towards our people in the name of our Messiah, but the truth still remains Yeshua is our Messiah, a Jew can still be Jewish and follow Him, and accepting Yeshua is the most Jewish thing a Jew can do. I testify as a Jewish man, from a Chassidic background that Yeshua is our Messiah, and as Jews we must embrace Him as such!

      ***** First of all don't tell me about the things done by the followers of Messiah in His name, I know them all too well (my family suffered in the inquisition, the crusades, pogroms, and the Shoah). It's unfortunate that people claiming to be His followers acted in such a disgusting way towards His people. Nothing can excuse what they did, but to pin this on Messiah isn't right either. Yeti never brought persecutions, neither did His original disciples, but those who came after them started preaching hatred towards us. This is inexcusable, and the majority of Christendom has repented for this. This was not Messiah's intentions, this was not G-d's intentions, nor was this the early church's intentions. While I say this I also remind you of people like the Ten Boom family who risked everything to help our people during the Shoah, in fact her father said he would die for us. There were other Christians who loved us too. The history is unfortunate, but holding a grudge is against Torah. We must fight anti-Semitism, and if you look at the pages of the New Testament, Yeshua, nor His shluchim never preached hate.
      Chag sameach.

      Wow Beautiful! YESHUA never said HE came to abolish the law rather HE came to fulfill it. I'm always so moved when a Jew says they can be Jewish and believe in Messiah because that's how it was back then who are we to change. YESHUA was and is born Jewish, no Christian can deny that. Yet we fulfill the law through the power of Shekinah we are not in bondage to limit Him from helping others even if means on Sabbeth.
      I feel the need to apologize to all Jews on behalf of those who called themselves "Christians" and mistreated your ancestors in any way. Please remember "you will know them by their fruit". Meaning the fruit of the spirit as mentioned in Galatians. I say this because I don't believe the crusaders were true Christians but rather prisoners. There's no way that a true Christian such as The apostles and early church filled with Shekinah would ever do such astrocity - it's just not like a true believer.

      ***** Messiah was to be a descendant of David Hamelekh, right?Well in the Haftarah of Shabbat Hachodesh we read that in the future that the Davidic King would come and offer sin sacrifices for Israel. In Isaiah 53 (as backed up by Targum Jonathan, and the kabalistic notion of a Suffering Messiah), we read of a suffering servant suffering for our sins. I testify to you that this suffering one is Yeshua our Messiah! He came first on a donkey (Zechariah 9, Talmud also teaches that if Israel has no favour with the Holy One, Blessed be He!, Messiah would come on a donkey), and redeemed us from sin. Upon His glorious return, He will come on a Horse and bring peace and an end to the enemies of Israel.

      +Simplyrunning run Jesus himself called himself a prophet clearly. This type of stuff is nothing new. Since the beginning when God sent the messengers with the same message this has been happening. The early followers believe the message and come to God. Then later generations think "what if that" or "what if this" and manipulate the message and start worshipping the messenger and thus becoming pagans. There wouldn't be a need for Jesus if Jews were following the laws of the old because Jesus did come to the Jews for the Jews. There wouldn't be a need for Mohammed if followers of Jesus created a whole new religion and started worshipping him when in fact he told people to follow the law of the old. You get the trend? After Mohammed there will never be any more messengers except one who was already before know as Jesus. He will come back to clear his name from the blasphemy people commit in is him. He came to lead people to God not to him. He worshipped God n told people to worship God

    Where many good points are made, why are these Christian men not addressing the Lake of Fire that burns with brimstone, which is taught both in the Old and New Testaments? Do they not take the Scriptures literally?
    One such example of the lake of fire: Revelation chapter 20:12-And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

The real problem why Jews are discriminated and hated for many, is the hate they demonstrate for Jesus, the religious Jews demand respect and tolerance but as you see in this video, they do the contrary. Fortunately, every day there are more Jews that are accepting that Jesus was the Messiah and that he will come again, very soon according the prophecies.

      Jesus said in the gospels, my realm is not from this world, my realm is from heaven, but the pharisees never understood it, Jews are still waiting for the mesiah, they want to be liberated. Jesus said that he will come a second time, no a third. The gospels said that he ascended in a cloud to heaven, and that he will come again to redeem not only jews but all mankind. All is in the new testament, that are the teachings of Peter, Pablo John and others saints; proclaimed after the crucifiction of Jesus. If you want to know really about the second coming of Jesus, just read Revelation. The problem with most Jews and rabbis, is that they really do not read the new testament or deny it. All is there, Christians not wrote the gospels, all were written by Jews, people who knew Jesus Christ, witnesses of the things Jesus said and did. Jesus also said; all who deny me, I will deny them in heaven..

    What an amazing debate! Some of the most incredible points I've heard were brought up.
    As a Christian it's incredibly important to understand our Jewish roots. It's also clear why we should keep the commandments of YHWH. Jesus told us that the Law (and the prophets) will not pass until ALL is fulfilled (ginomai).
    What I learnt from this is that there's a narrow path of truth between those on the extremes who keep the law and accept Jesus.
    There's a group who believe that Yeshua is the Messiah and The law is to be kept as a sign of obedience, not for salvation.
    In a debate like this it would have been incredible to hear this view show up.

    I remember seeing this debate when it was broadcast in January, 2000, and when David Brickner said, "We're 100% Jewish and 100% Christian", I thought at the time that Judaism is not a nationality. One cannot be both Jewish and Christian because these faiths are not compatible. If these people have indeed recognized Jesus Christ as the Messiah, then they are Christian. After all, the definition of that term is someone who follows Christ.

    Sorry Rabbi. The early Jews did not start a “ new “ religion. You explained this by saying “ A person can’t be a republican and a Democrat at the same time. “
    That is a false comparison you made because the two examples you mentioned are two contradicting beliefs. Christianity and Judaism are not contradicting beliefs. The early Jews did not start a new religion. Instead the completed it.

    The Baptist Reverend really held his own and was impressive.
    I look at things sometimes simply, and I believe the Christians are the new Jews, as Christianity sprung from Judaism and our founding fathers were all Jews as was Jesus Christ.
    I believe what scares some Jews is that they may be wrong and that they rejected the Messiah.

    Zechariah 12:10 And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son. Zechariah 12:10

    Isaiah 53:4-6 Surely He has borne our griefs
    And carried our sorrows;
    Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
    Smitten by God, and afflicted.
    But He was wounded for our transgressions,
    He was bruised for our iniquities;
    The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
    And by His stripes we are healed.
    all we like sheep have gone astray;
    We have turned, every one, to his own way;
    And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:4-6

    Psalm 2:7-12 “I will declare the decree:
    The Lord has said to Me,
    ‘You are My Son,
    Today I have begotten You.
    Ask of Me, and I will give You
    The nations for Your inheritance,
    And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
    You shall break them with a rod of iron;
    You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ”
    Now therefore, be wise, O kings;
    Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
    Serve the Lord with fear,
    And rejoice with trembling.
    Kiss the Son, lest He be angry,
    And you perish in the way,
    When His wrath is kindled but a little.
    Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him. Psalm 2:7-12

    Great post. Thank you for sharing. I guess I can see why on the Rabbis felt that using the Jewish symbolism is deceptive but I wonder if he is missing something. Historically Christianity got Hellenized (began to lean more on Greek thinking than Hebrew thinking.) Even the decision to celebrate Jesus death on resurrection at Easter rather then at Passover was an attempt to distance gentile Christianity from its Judaistic roots. The switch of the Sabbath day from Saturday to Sunday is another move (was it Constantine that did this?) I may have the details wrong here but the general effect of these moves is to make Christianity look less Jewish. In this context, the use of Jewish symbols is a re-assertion of something which was always true that Christianity is essentially a Hebrew religion (Or a Hebrew heresy if you're on that side of the fence).
    There is a view that theologians began to interpret Paul in the light of Plato rather than in the light of Moses et al and many have tried to reverse the error (Greek - mind body dualism. Hebrew - more holistic etc).
    I like the line 'We know where you are if we need you." I found that line conciliatory.
    Doesn't Isaiah 9 Unto us a Son is born . . . his name shall be called …. mighty God kind of suggest that God will appear as a man?

      You have good points, but yet the bible clearly states " I am the way the truth and only by me shall you come to the father" Think about it, its saying it straight out, you have to follow Jesus to be changed to be holy, to be filled with goodness, to recognize your sinful nature and so on.. Every religion has good in it, but there are many that contradict themselves. If you study them you would know this. The Jewish law says for example " An eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth" but Christ said no Forgive so you shall be forgiven. If you revenge, your committing the same sin as your enemy. Also if your lenient to your enemy he shall be lenient to you (except for those animals ISIS) of course because they are the beast. Now generally you have to study the bible very hard and understand every detail. If you have questions, go to your local priest and also kneel and ask God yourself. COncentrate for God comes to you, but you have to give it time for he listens. Sometimes you will hear a voice and sometimes God replies in signs. Follow the 10 commandments and accept whatever God wants for you. I know its hard because the road to salvation is hard. Its easier to be a bad person because being good means a lot of suffering, but let me tell you girl, I rather suffer now than after death, because the suffering of the afterlife is brutal and eternal. Just pray everyday , repent, say thank you and
      talk to God like it was your last day. !!!!!!!!!!
