    Just cleaned up 2 pairs of Gazelles using this method and it worked brilliantly. Had previously cleaned them but never achieved this effect. The sugar scrub works great directly on the suede, don't be put off. Thanks for the video!

    It's worth protecting your suede with a good quality protector like Nikwax before you wear them for the first time... they tend to stay cleaner longer and easier to clean once they need doing.
    Sugar soap is awesome for stain removal especially on the white rubber and plastic, a bit harsh for suede... I've used a mild solution of liquid moisturised body soap with warm water and a toothbrush but leave the suede to dry before reapplying the suede protection.

    I've been needing to clean my baby pink gazelles for ages, was just about to chuck them in washing machine on a special shoe wash on their own in shoe bags but have taken them back out to give this a go...
    Off to buy some sugar soap in a bit. Fingers crossed it works ok for mine 🤞🏻🤗

    I'm sceptical about this method for suede, especially heavily dyed suede. It doesn't seem like this guy has thoroughly researched how to care for suede. You should only be getting suede wet as the last resort and your first attempt should always be with a good quality dry brush. Any ingrained stains which aren't lifted with thorough brushing can be treated with cotton wool balls and white vinegar. I have seen professionals recommend rubbing alcohol but it's a risk because it may cause the dye to run. I have been using white vinegar on my suede dyed trainers recently and haven't seen any dye coming off on the white cotton balls and have seen it remove some hideous stains! Rub very gently in one direction only. That's another key mistake in this video, only rub suede one way to remove stains otherwise you are just ingraining the stain further and will wear the suede out. If none of the above has worked and you must use water make sure it's very cold and has only a small about of cleaner or soap in it and use your suede brush to gently brush out stains as you would when dry. If using water it is essential that you stuff the shoes with paper as they dry and dab off any excess water - the shoes will hold their shape and the pile of the suede shouldn't flatten. Good luck!

      @edwardmichaeldavid3600 Před 3 lety

      @@loganmason9037 You'd want to get a suede brush, they're sold everywhere but as a reference drmartens make one which is pretty cheap. They have tough bristles with a reverse rubber bristled side and a rubber bade on the side, use in one direction. All brushes are pretty generic.
