- Throughout the late 20th century, R.C. Slocum’s defenses were known for a fun, fast, stifling and downright nasty style of play that never left opposing offenses wanting more. In Aggieland, however, they were simply known as 'The Wrecking Crew.'

OG Wrecking Crew fan here, Class of '89! I was in the end zone seats when they stopped Bo Jackson, and was there for the Tim Brown Cotton Bowl, too! Loved that defense. Thank you for this video.
I'm watching this at the end of June in 2024 and we're all hoping Elko can bring the Wrecking Crew back
Great doc of that nasty Wrecking Crew! They played at a high level and many went on the NFL. Brooks w/49ers, Wallace/Raiders, Nguyen/Cowboys, Adams/Seahawks...They were fun to watch!!! #Gigem
Thanks Lia, brought back a lot of memories. ‘93
Loved watching this defense with that 12th man
gig 'em it was awesome to watch all these years----my freshman year '74 that defense would bring kyle to the a new level and it got better from there thanks to all the great players that make aggie football so great i am sure it will get even bigger rock on ags
Anthony Hill and this DL are the new Wrecking Crew
At this point i'm actually glad we got Taurean York instead. I think Elko will bring back the wrecking crew.
The Wrecking Crew is coming back.
And we moving forward “GIG”EM
👍🏿 👌🏿
Its funny how different A&M is now. I'd say they're more offense set than defense. Fisher made such a huge on impact on them then Sumlin ever did lol
Sumlin transitioned us from a defensive to a offensive team, Jimbo recruited well but did nothing else well. I’d argue Sumlin had a bigger impact on the program than Jimbo did
Sumlin at least made TAMU entertaining
and still never won anything
3 national championships, Southwest conference championship, Big 12 championship, Heisman trophies. Gig Em!
