I would like to see Tyrion on the Iron Throne. Dany - not so much. She's very immature, narcissistic and know nothing about real ruling. Also, she doesn't know the Seven Kingdoms at all. Even Tommen would be better ruler of the Realm than her.
I think if she has good advisors around her I think she would be better then all the rest she has good intentions for her people no she's not perfect but who is that is why i like her she cares

I love how Game of Thrones sets the stage every season. There's so much going on that you can't look away without missing a piece of the puzzle. The question still haunts me, who is going to finally sit on the iron throne?!

So... not only is Varys tagging along with Tyrion, but he's backing Dany's bid for the throne? That would seem to make the epilogue of ADWD kind of impossible to approximate later on. I wonder if Aegon is even gonna be a character.
the show is an adaption of the books, so there won't be happening the same stuff. GRRM said so himself.
He has been backing Dany from the start the only reason why he was unable to do anything is because he needed to wait for westeros to fall into ruins.But I don't think we will be seeing just dany rise to the throne but someone much younger.

I never read the books but just watched every episode from season 1-4 for the first time in a three week long period and i cant wait to watch more! I like it when big characters die because it makes it seem like you never know just what will happen next. This series definitely is not formulaic, hence makes you want to watch more.
I only recognize a few scenes from the books but I don't care, because the show has more then proven itself a worthy adaptation. Roll on April!

Simply put, if Daenarys is going to die, it's going to be far more dramatic than a showdown on a coliseum floor. Martin is too good at killing people to just let her die at the hands of some soldiers. Just my opinion, but don't see that happening (not to mention there's no way they would foreshadow it in the preview for the season).

I want to like Dany... but honestly if she's gonna rule a country she needs to learn HOW to rule a country. Like she knows nothing about diplomacy, doesn't think about the consequences of her decrees or of "breaking" the old order. I feel like she wants the throne for revenge, or just to have it. She isn't actually thinking about how she's going to rule the people after she gets it...
That's why Stannis should rule
But she is willing to learn from these mistakes. She actually tries to improve herself and understand how to rule the city

The are cutting LSH from the TV show and combining her story with Sansa. I know this because Michelle Fairley said she wont be returning to the show. Also, no Aegon or Connington, no Quentyn Martell and from the looks of it, no Greyjoys.
The_Howler I'm pretty sure they're just postponing Aegon and the Greyjoys. I say this because Oberyn and Ramsay are also very important characters that were postponed 1 season after their must-appearance.

After watching this trailer, I am guessing that the Wildings will side with Stannis. Perhaps Littlefinger and Sansa will form an alliance with Stannis? Together, they could potentially sweep south, crushing the Boltons, the Freys and then march to King's Landing. Also, Varys and Tyrion looks like they are going to side with Dany. However, Dany looks like she's got a full scale revolt on her hands that could potentially be end of her. I had a bad feeling from the beginning about her taking on the role of slave-liberator in a foreign land she knew nothing about. I hope she survives but will she still have an army? It looked like the Unsullied were taking a beating. Perhaps Dorne will side with Dany and provide a safe base for her to return to Westeros?

It looks awesome, but i'm sure i'mnot the only one worried about how much of the books they seem to be skipping.
Since GRRM has said he's told the ending to the show writers in case anything happens to him, we're going to know the ending before he's even written the last book at this rate.
I am really worried about how much they're cutting out and changing. The Hobbit did that and it was a disaster. When the source material is that giid you really need to stay true to it. An extra couple of seasons would be needed, but would that be a bad thing? You can guarantee (is that the correct spelling, it's 2am and i'm not sure) that the viewing figures wouldn't drop. It seems like they're cutting out some rivetting stuff.
Of course, what they're apparantly cutting out does tell the book readers a lot about where the stories heading. But spoilers are bad! In every conceivable form!
The shows awesone, but for the love of R'Hlorr, stick to the bloody books show writers!

They do stick to the books. But their first priority is to make the show as epic as possible, not to satisfy book-perfectionists.
James Bennett The Hobbit was hardly a disaster. Almost everything in the movies happened in the appendices. And besides, a lot of things were too vague. From reading the book we had no idea why Gandalf left the dwarves or what happened in the goblin tunnels.

Old Gryph and Young Gryph are cut, poor lil Penny is cut because all women in Game of Thrones have to be the same, the Greyjoy story is cut, Darkstar replaced not that I care that much. Is there a reason to watch this season outside of the books never being finished? Loud noises and shiny objects won't cut it.
This is just a trailer its not like they'll show every character in one reveal.

TheOKTerrificable I would’ve LOVED to see Darkstar. He’s handsome, mysterious, and a Dayne. I find it strange that Darkstar would try to kill Myrcella in view of 40 witnesses, most of whom were members of Doran’s royal guard. Everything the show has done w Dorne (except Oberyn & Doran) has been a disaster. Perhaps that’s why they didn’t introduce Arianne or anyone else from Dorne.
But- on the bright side- they did a phenomenal job with Oberyn Martell. The Red Viper is one of my top five, and Pedro Pascal was exactly how I pictured him. The accent, the costumes... Perfection🌞

Sam Clayworth they are gonna give some of her storyline to sansa, avenging her family and stuff. But lady stoneheart doesn't really serve a purpose other than that. Im sure they want to include her, but when they already have to leave out so much of other important things because of the limited time, especially when combining two books in one season, they cannot put her in there without skipping important things.
Did anyone else notice that when it showed the dead guy in the Harpy mask with "Kill the masters" written in blood behind him, it really quickly cut to a clip of Theon? I hope that's some foreshadowing type thing and that he's the one to kill Ramsay
