      😱 That's truly despicable. Believe in France🇫🇷 , they're also prohibited from requesting female👩‍⚕️doctors. Wanting your same sex practitioner is not discriminatory. It's 💯% a safety, comfort, & familiarity issue. It is so dishonoring to women, esp. those vulnerable ones victimized by men. 👨‍⚖️ How dare they legislate such things 🛃 without thought to respecting personal boundaries or needs.
      Not Muslim, but I highly respect the desire for modesty. Also admire the burkini for offering such incredible ☀️UV protection. 😳You get hurled insults in US from extremists when you even express support for them. Not exactly "land of the free" civilized behavior.
      🌞Like an idiot, I once used to sizzle & sun bake. 🙏 Hoping to darken skin instead of burn🤦‍♀️. 👙As a teen, wore a bikini to a local beach⛱️. These teenage boys made what they thought was a friendly overture, but I never wore such a brief costume in public again.
      🤗 Not all girls appreciate being the center of attention. It's not pleasant attracting either lustful male or catty female gazes. Frankly, leering & criticism from strangers is rather revolting.
      😵‍💫Plus, normal bathing suits are a modesty hazard swimming 🏊‍♀️ in rough surf. Used to toss an XL t-shirt over my costume to protect myself from the humiliation of exposure, & also help prevent 3rd degree burn that happened more quickly in the water too.
      😉Nowadays, I favor the shade & use a ☂️parasol out & about in the full sun. Might try a burkini one day...

    • @penelopepigeon8505
      @penelopepigeon8505 Před 2 lety +1

      Two points to consider on this dress code:
      1. Consider the average age of Congress members, do we really want to see that many spotty batwings in news clips? I'd rather see a nice long-sleeved blouse or pretty jacket.
      2. If we are to have true equality between the sexes, men would have to be allowed to show as much skin as women can. So can you imagine your Congressmen with exposed collarbones, short-sleeved shirts, and knee-length pants?
      Fair is fair, ladies. We'd also have to make every public area like beaches "shirts required for everyone" or truly topless for everyone, which means we'd have to stop seeing breast tissue as a sexual organ and only as the infant feeding mechanism it is.
      Fair is fair. 😉💖✌️

      No, the original poster has it right. Modern women walk around with A LOT of skin showing on an every day basis. And at the beach, everything except 3 tiny triangles is showing. That's a lot of pressure on women to expose themselves to be considered "normal" or sexy. So we continuously put ourselves through a living hell of diet, exercise, fake tans, sunscreen, and magic potions to get rid of perfectly normal things like stretch marks, veins, dimples, scars, hair, etc. Then later in life we have a small panic attack over every mole thinking melanoma finally caught up with us.
      Forget that! My body is not for strangers on a beach to gawk at, whether the consider me to be attractive or unattractive. I cover damn near everything.

      @@ferretfanrealnamelogan4404 Bigotry and prejudice have always been with us, are with us still, and will continue to be part of basic human nature until we're either all dead or we all look exactly the same.
      You just be the best human you can be; that's all you can do.

      Modesty is relative to time period and culture. Also, there is also no point in forcing others to follow christian doctrine when they're not christian themselves. Mentalities like this are why nobody likes "Christians".
