    This is awesome to hear….specifically how you got that much protein. Will definitely be taking some of these concepts and foods for the next hunt!

    This was really great. Great macro ratios I could likely adopt along with food choices, only I will probably somehow work in a hot freeze dried meal as I will not go without a morning coffee and I’m not packing a stove for coffee only.

    Great video Lorenzo, thank you for all the helpful info! Do you know how much one day of food costs? thanks

    • @lorenzosartini8796
      @lorenzosartini8796 Před 10 měsíci

      appreciate you watching! honestly I don't know the daily cost... I make food a priority in my life so I kind of just turn a blind eye to cost and make sure I eat what I need.

    I’ve always thought macros was a bit confusing and unobtainable. This helped me understand the why behind it and makes me think it’d be easier to implement in my day to day life then I originally thought.

      @lorenzosartini8796 Před 10 měsíci +1

      I know what you mean... it seems overwhelming to get into but honestly, when you just start and get a feel for it, it becomes super easy! essentially becomes second nature when you see and look at food.

    Thanks for sharing this, Lorenzo, it's very helpful for me as I too am trying to keep my protein above 1g/pound body weight, even in the backcountry. I haven't tried Wicked Cutz bacon jerky before, but am interested in giving it a go; do you have particular flavor(s) that you prefer? Especially with the Justins maple butter versus Fbomb Salted Macadamia (which I picked up from Brady)?

    Ive been successful with keto style in my desk job lifestyle and working out several days a week the past year losing 25 lbs and feeling much better. Ive struggled with how to approach my hunting though as most suggest heavy carbs and eating all day. Have you ever attempted an adapted keto approach in the field by any chance? Like still staying low carb or not eating all day? Or do I just thrown it all out the window and force my body to deal with the sudden changes in the name of feeding it best for all day endurance during hunts? Thanks Lorenzo!

    • @lorenzosartini8796
      @lorenzosartini8796 Před 10 měsíci +1

      awesome to hear and nice job on cutting some weight! I never did very well on low carbs when I was trying to perform whether in the gym or on a hunt so I never gave a backcountry keto/carnivore a full go... however, if you do well on it and like how you feel - I wouldn't change a thing! id just bring more calories into the backcountry at the same macro breakdown, but id stay away from just not eating. hunting is so physical compared to day to day life and the body needs fuel to perform. I know Keto options have come a long ways so id imagine building a keto backcountry bag is pretty do-able!

    How bricks are in a carnivore snax? Probably OK option, but price is prohibitive

    Out of curiosity, do you think your body doesn’t respond well to freeze dried foods because of the ingredients or because of the freeze drying process itself?

    • @jonathonmcmillan9410
      @jonathonmcmillan9410 Před 10 měsíci

      I've found that I have more digestive issues if the freeze-dried ingredients don't fully rehydrate. Even the "clean" gourmet meals are problematic if they don't rehydrate. This is more of an issue at higher altitudes, but some items never fully rehydrate.

    • @lorenzosartini8796
      @lorenzosartini8796 Před 10 měsíci

      I think its a mix of both honestly. I think the ingredients and preservatives have a bigger effect overall though. something my body NEVER gets throughout the year then if I ate one, my body just gets the "what the hell is this" feeling and reaction. and I think you know what that means haha.

  • @kdkulhanek
    @kdkulhanek Před 10 měsíci +1

    My man, You talk about stomach issues - have you looked at the labels on what your eating? palm/sunflower oils, sugar alcohols... You need some cans of sardines and avocados!! Not to mention you are at $30+ a day?

    • @lorenzosartini8796
      @lorenzosartini8796 Před 10 měsíci

      yeah no question this isn't what I would prefer to eat, and definitely not what I eat when I am at home and have normal food. However, my body doesn't mind these ingredients and these foods allow me to crave or look forward to eating them so I actually eat my calories everyday. there is a fine line in the backcountry of wanting to eat and having to eat. in those moments I know I just have to eat, I can force these foods because I like them. its hard to get yourself to eat sometimes back there...

    • @kdkulhanek
      @kdkulhanek Před 10 měsíci

      I appreciate your response sir. I understand completely on the force eating. I have not spent a ton of time backcountry hunting, but more camping - so good food is always a necessity for me. and nothing like fresh meat when you harvest an animal!!! @@lorenzosartini8796
