      Tam , if you listened in the very beginning he said that he got a call from Harpos requesting that he round up professional workers ( plumbers, etc.) and be somewhere the very next day and he said that he would have to call them back. After ten minutes her called her back and said “no” to bringing his own crew and that they would have to hire crews that are local to the area. I think that is what was referred to in the Title.

    • @LyleKN
      @LyleKN Před 4 lety +13

      @@patriciahulett4411 This IS click bait. We all listened and in the very beginning and I agree with Tam, he didn't say no but negotiated a more feasible solution which is what any professional would do in his situation. The title suggests that he may have had some sort of clash with Oprah and he turned her down flat. That is not the case here and in fact this story actually brings to light how their professional relationships came to be. He actually said yes to Oprah. Still click bait especially because here we are still debating something that happened a couple of decades ago.

      Harpo could easily find someone else ,just as great ,who would do the job the way they proposed it.
      Nate Berkus wasn’t a national name back then.
      Becoming famous may not have even been on his bucket list .
      He probably expected them to say “Thanks , but that’s not what we’re looking for”.

    Listening to this man being reasonable in his decision to say no to Oprah lends me to think that a female would not have made that decision. She would have been determined to work with Oprah.

    Nate's success and strengths are his looks and personality and charisma. He draws you in. That actually makes him a great manager and business person and public image for his brand. Designer wise, I find his work quite mediocre and without any signature point of views. Anyone with a budget can buy and arrange furniture.
