If anyone is contemplating about getting a dashcam...get one! I got into a car accident a few days ago where I was hit when the other driver turned into my lane and hit me on my driver's side. That driver wasn't paying attention and everything was caught on my 4K dashcam. I submitted the dashcam footage and a screenshot of the driver distracted to that driver's insurance company and it resulted that the other party was liable. Anyways, next thing I'm gonna do is shop for a 4k rear camera now. FYI: Insurance companies don't care about pictures of the incident as they can be photoshopped. They want the actual video footage.
I totally agree. Any Dashcam is better not having one at all…
Bought the Viofo A229 Pro as per your review and we can't wait to get installed! Installing it myself would be too intimidating as I was planning to hardwire it to the car. So, I'll probably just have a professional do it instead. But, for those eager to try it out for themselves, maybe a tutorial or guide would make for a great video!

I used to use Anker's Roav cameras but I replaced the battery too many times. Now capacitor is the only way to go IMO.

Thanks for the video - you always make interesting points which I always wonder myself. By the way, one other advantage of running two single channel dash cams is that they run cooler, don't push the microsd card as hard and overall are a bit more reliable.

Dang I used to have the A118C back in the day. I bought 10 because they were so good. Used them front and rear. I did take the time to wire them into the trim panels on my vehicles. I was sad when I couldn't find them anymore. Ended up with a thinkware N1000, blah. Glad i found your page though. looks like a new company but same form factor and better specs.

How do you get the recordings off it? Is there an app? No app review?
Sellers expect you to run the 20 foot cable through the headliner by using a fish tape or along the side of the headliner where the airbags are. Problem is most people don't know how to run the wires under the airbags and it's not always obvious. Removing all these panels isn't easy without the right tools.

Informative video. I don't like Tesla (I have a Chevy Bolt) and would never buy one, but I LOVE that they come standard with cameras on the sides amd back (front?). I do not understand why insurance companies don't push for Legacy makers to offer them or make them standard. That Whambam Tesla Cam channel seems to solve (or show) arund 75-85% clearly other drivers at fault (or Tesla ones). This making everyone have to hack cameras just to keep their insurance rates down really stinks considering it's the 21 Century.
Can the rear Mini's display be set to OFF as default? (Figure a lit display might interfere with driving or annoy some drivers.)
It actually turns OFF (screensaver) and you can set to turn off after 3 seconds to after 3 minutes.
Question, if I hardwire the front camera to enable parking mode? Does the rear A119 mini 2 needs a separate hardwire as well? Can both dash cam be viewed at the same time on the app by switching camera ? TIA
Yes, it will need a separate hardwire kit as well if you want to use the parking mode on A119min2.
If i suspect mechanics are joyriding my car, what kind of cam setup can I have for this?
Ring car cam setup will give you real time notifications.
A lot of mechanics will unplug the dashcam for "privacy" in my city. Sucks but it's within their right to do so here.
Add an AirTag to your car and you can a least track your car after you turn over your car to your mechanic. Also, you should tell your mechanic not to test drive your car without you being present.
You don’t need a camera you need a new mechanic.
Can you show how to do video calling between two TVs? (i.e. your TV and a friends TV)
