One of the best shows ever made. A masterpiece.
People constantly bang on about Star Wars and shove it down your throat , but Thunderbirds came out over a decade earlier and was doing its stuff before it
Star Wars was even conceived. For a show that was longer than stingray, it took full advantage of its runtime and wasn’t afraid to slow down and have more character driven moments. I never saw The Hood as racist, since he was seen as a genuine threat, and was never made fun of for his race and culture. Tin Tin was a competent and strong minded Malayan character, and she was often bought along on the missions.
Also, you should review Captain Scarlet, that show is also incredible,e
I never watched the original show as a kid and was made aware of its existence through the live action movie that was released back in the 2000s. However, I've been binge-watching a lot of old-school shows and cartoons as of late, and I wouldn't mind checking out Thunderbirds in the future. Whilst the show has its dated moments, the pyrotechnics, the hydraulic mouths and the vehicles themselves are very ahead of their time. Sure, people might piss themselves laughing nowadays, but I like to treat it as the evolution of puppeteered animation.
Regardless, I'm intrigued to learn about the show's lore and what kind of adventures Alan and his brothers get themselves into.
ending with the model was a great touch.
Great review, and that ending was hilarious.
Wasn't so funny for me, I had burns marks on my fur for weeks!
@@huckthefox 😂 ouch sorry to hear that, I'm gonna have to be careful flying the fireflash.
My Dad watched the show all the time as a kid, And still does Today, I got into it in the 2000's as a kid and now, Also fun fact some Dr Who actors voices the characters in the show like the late Ray Barrett 'Who plays Bennett / Koquillion in The Rescue' voices John Tracy and The Hood, And former Dalek voice actor David Graham voices Gordon Tracy Parker and Brains.
I still remember the day I excitedly told my dad about the new show I saw that was so weird and fascinating, and he was just like, "Uhhh... Sorry, bud, but it's not new. I watched it when I was your age!"
The fictional world of the show really is just _wild_ with the benefit of hindsight, isn't it?
I’ve quite honestly rewatched the entire original series about 50 times and the entire animated series about 5 times. Genuinely didn’t know brains in the animated version was Indian
4:42 actually Jeff Tracy owns a company called Tracy Aerospace, where the thunderbirds were made by a team
Merry Thunderbird Christmas!
OMG! I love this review, the original Thunderbirds series was one the many aspects of my childhood since I was part of the rerun generation during the 2000s which meant that I saw the 2004 film and yes I liked it at the time but throughout my teen and adult years I have revisited the film and acknowledged it’s faults and I still like some of its concepts.
(Proof that my nostalgia doesn’t always blind me that being said it’s theme song by Busted has been in my music library since its creation I know I’m a hypocrite but aren’t we all in some ways🤷♂️)
22:37-23:20 Also I gotta give respect to Trey Parker and Matt Stone for despite not liking the original series felt inspired to create their own puppet film to act as a better tribute to it then the 2004 film ever could be.
24:28-30:25 Furthermore THANK YOU! so much for including your thoughts on the 2015 reboot series because l know many hardcore fans didn’t like it at first but I did and I watched it all the way through to the very end. (Not many people on CZcams have acknowledged the reboot like you have in this video believe it or not)
In fact I love the general vibe of the reboot because it really does feel like it takes place in 2060 also the way it acknowledges the original while improving on its flaws is great.
(Side note 25:31 was me back then and 25:38 reminds of my Nan who still does that even to this day and yes I know that’s very mean of me to say but it is true)
And in my opinion while it is sad that the reboot only got three seasons with plenty of potential for at least one more, ultimately it was blessing in disguise because if a fourth season was green-lit then it’s production would’ve sadly had to be pushed back due to the global COVID pandemic and lockdown.
But that being said the reboot did its job and it was fantastic.
30:52-33:57 Finally the ending was very creative, charming and hilarious.
Merry Christmas And Happy New Year to you and Huck.
Merry Christmas and New Year to you too!
Sorry it's late, I've been hibernating
@@huckthefoxNo problem Huck 👍🏻
Only just found this channel. And it’s has captured the feeling of my childhood of watching CZcams like the old days of Lego animations and cartoons.
Thanks for reminding me of that feeling and keep at it !
Glad you enjoyed it
Be sure to check out more of my stuff
If they wanted to make a kid-led movie from a Gerry Anderson show, they should have gone for Joe 90...
I've not heard the best things about Joe 90, but yeah, that would have been a good idea
Captain scarlet is my favourite show
Wooo 🥳
My only memory's of this show were seeing toy ads for it and other ads that so happen to feature them. I may never have gotten into it but I understand its importance in UK pop culture. And that ending part was amazing and well put together, props to everyone that worked on that.
However I still don’t understand your weird hate towards Steve Reviews what did he do to you? Are you jealous or something thats he's more popular than you?
He didn't do anything to me, I just find it funny to poke him, and yeah, it is mostly that he's more popular than me
I'm sure he's a lovely guy, but his success really annoys me
I have to say, a potential option for my first light novel would be some sort of Japanese story inspired by Thunderbirds, like an international organization to rescue people was formed and the story follows the Japanese branch of this organization.
Then again, I wonder what a story trying to link Thunderbirds with the 2086 anime would be like? After all, both the original and CGI versions of the show are set in the 2060s, so what would happen in about two decades to lead to the exposure of International Rescue, the disappearance of the Tracy Family, and IR being turned into a government funded organization with new pilots and staff?
Wait how did you get thunderbird 2 anyway
I cute-d my way in, no one can say no to my adorable face!
To be honest, I think the 2004 film is fine, but it's not the best of the Thunderbirds franchise, but I am a Busted fan and their song for the film is one of my favourites from them.
But the original series is still the best, and will still be the best after nearly 60 years at this point and they are amazing.
The newer series I really enjoyed, I thought it was great
I'm dumbfounded. Thirty-plus minutes of a review of all things Thunderbirds, and (unless I missed it) not a single mention of the beautiful cooperative board game designed by Matt Leacock (he of Pandemic fame). In the tabletop gaming community this Modiphius-published affair didn't generate any momentum, and with fans of the original property effectively ignoring it I guess that failure was inevitable. That game deserved so much better.
WHY DID YOU LET HUCK PILOT THUNDERBIRD 2?!?!?
FOXES CANT FLY!
I didn't let him, he highjacked it
You never heard of a FLYING FOX!?
Either way, you two are Fired!!!
@@HeadphonesUKdammit huck
Hate to see how he would drive the SPV from captain scarlet
