“Those are the quirks and features of the Earthroamer. Now it’s time to take it on the TFL off road course and see how it drives…”
Yes, we hope to do a drive soon!
I see what you did there 😁
Would love to see how the SX and LTI fair off road how rugged can it get and it’s handling abilities
Pulled a Doug!! Well done sir.
They wish they were Doug lol
The level of custom stuff here is mind blowing. Thanks for giving us a tour, Andre!
It's really cool to see. It's way above my level of pampering, but I still love seeing what custom builders do making trail style RV's.
And should be for over one million dollars.
I went from going to buy a 50 ft fifth wheel to changing my mind and going to nomad.
Off-road.
THIS IS SO LUXURIOUS AND IT WOULD BE EASY TO HANDLE.
YES I THINK IT'S WORTH THE PRICE
Not much here is custom... It's all actually preset, they don't do a lot of customization.
Thing that gets me about these, even out here in the West (AZ) these are not getting very far off a graded Forest Service road. I’m in a Power Wagon with a FWC Hawk in the bed, and I’m at the limit of what one can realistically take into truly remote locations. For 1.1 mil you can buy one sweet used diesel pusher RV and nice Land Cruiser 80. 100 or 200 series to flat tow behind.
I agree. I see these as the American version of those German style heavy touring vehicle built on MAN chassis. Yes, you absolutely could travel the world in one, and in countries where just getting around requires 4 wheel drive then something like this makes some sense. However in the US, minus maybe Alaska, this thing makes very little sense.
@@PatrickRich - The other thing that has always got me about ER's is their actual coach outfitting is not all that great for the price. Certainly not on the level of those big European conversions, nor even domestic high end RV coach builders.
They look to limited to actually go anywhere off road
@@PatrickRich exactly
@@donleamon8653 they previously have gone bankrupt somehow I don't think they've learnt how to make a better expedition vehicle
Imagine being out in the wilderness and getting stranded in limp mode cause you outta def 😂
Driving one of those around, you might as well have a sign that says rob me.
I’m sure the owner will have a fully auto rifle. Good luck to the robber, over my dead body! Haha
😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣 If I was rolling around in this I'd be so weaponed up, there wouldn't be room for anybody else
Another Sign and Form of Proof that America is Violent as Fck !
Please do, I have 21 reasons and 42 more ready to explain why you've made a bad choice 😆
You would think for $1.1M they’d paint match so there’s no original white when you open the doors. Makes you wonder what other details are hurried or overlooked?
Extremely good point man, as a tech guy i see so much more that could and should be done in this thing
overpriced, this is ridicuolously jewish
I agree! just way to much money to overlook even the smallest of things. Also for the money I would like to see the testing breakdown. I would not want to spend 1.1 mill and the door fall off after using it ten times.
The people in the market for this kinda outdoors product are not making that kinda money, imo sorry
$1.1 million isn't what it used to be.
All mods can be ordered and put on the cab and chassis, show me something original
is this the incredible 1 million dollar earthroamer on a 12 dollar camera from 2007? AMAZING headline
The margin on this truck must be insane. Even if you buy the most expensive parts, hire the best staff your margin will be crazy with that price 😂
It’s hand built. Not mass produced. Your not paying for just the parts. You pay for the quality. Drive a Bentley and then a Chrysler 300. You can tell which one is hand made. Also the Bentley will last you decades compared to the Chrysler 300.
@@Rummelta Bentley is a car built from scratch. Here we have a truck made from another company, like a Ford. Yes it has been improved a lot, and the living part of it is great. But it is still a Ford (or some of the other trucks they are using) But I get it like Bentley, there is a market for people showing that they can afford the most expensive car.
@@danielsal5442 I agree that they are overpriced but noone is building something this offroad capable with these features so it is meant for people who do not care about a million dollars and there are plenty of them when you dont have much competition. Can you really say that a richard mille is worth a million bucks but this isnt? Id much rather have one of these irresepective of market value.
I think you fail to understand business modelling. From being around sailboats, I can tell you that the molds for body panels like that are not cheap at all, and they don't last; they have to be replaced regularly(probably every 50 or so units for something like this). Then there's the craftsmen. If you want to retain a staff of skilled tradespeople, you have to be able to pay them for their skills. Around here, an AVERAGE is $40/hour, plus benefits(paid by the employer), liability insurance, etc. My dad bills his guys out at $120/hr, and after they're paid, insurance is paid, and everything else, he's maybe making $10/hour per guy. But to prevent turnover, you have to be able to offer them steady work. These things don't sell to everyone(350ish of them on the road), but you have to be able to keep the talented, trained guys around to maintain the level of quality. Then there's the facility itself: gotta pay for the land, the structure, the utilities, the tools... it's a long list, and we haven't even started buying the truck, the components, or the materials yet!
Furthermore, they're marketing a premium luxury product to people with money, and those people WANT some degree of exclusivity. They WANT to turn heads and be able to brag about their fancy RV.
They aren't profiting nearly as much as you think they are. You're just clueless about how business expenses work, and probably a little butthurt that your broke ass can't afford one. 😂
@@bradsimpson8724 You get your knowledge from your dads business and think you can apply it on all companies. Good for you!
I'm a diehard Ford guy. Im also a HUGE ER fan. Though I'm liking the bowtie version, MORE of what I kinda felt was missing in the original ER. Absolutely beautiful box and interior.
I stopped at the EarthRoamer shop just north of Denver with my uncle one time to take a look at their vehicles. The lady working in the office was incredibly rude. Same with the guy who was out in the parking lot in one of their vehicles. They basically acted like they couldn’t be bothered; had they asked, they would have learned that my uncle was in the market for an RV…
Contrast that with Jonathan Ward of ICON/TLC. Dude couldn’t have been any nicer. Not only did he take time out of his day to talk with me for 10 minutes, he pulled one of his project managers to give me a private tour of the shop - let me look at and sit in any vehicle I wanted. Absolutely fantastic experience. Could not have been more different than the way the EarthRoamer people treated us.
Really says a lot about an organization on how they treat people. I don't know if I'll ever have enough money to buy an EarthRoamer, but if I did, I'd buy 3 trucks from Jonathan Ward instead!
Dude, really? It's a shop building custom luxury off-road campers. They're busy doing shit, and if you did one lick of research, you'd know it's very prominently posted on their site that they don't accept walk-ins. One in a thousand people, or less, actually has the means to afford one of these, and even fewer the inclination. They'd have to hire 20 more people to appease every slack-jawed looky-loo that wants to cone in and poke around with no ability or intention of supporting their business.
Make an appointment. I called ahead and went in to look at a pre-roamed rig, and was greeted with open arms and a great experience. Don't be mad at them for being uninterested in having their time wasted so the hundredth jackass of the day could get their Instagram shot next to one of their rigs. If you want to do that, go see them at a show where they're EXPECTING to have their time wasted.
cool story...
I was fuelling up my diesel truck today when a fully optioned EarthRoamer pulled in. I was in awe!!
Jesus I can't imagine they're selling too many of them for that price 😂
They aren't meant to. They're very specifically a boutique firm marketing to wealthy buyers. That's the whole business model. There are already dozens of companies building cheap camper boxes for every piece of white trash with a down payment. The number of people offering something like this in the US is very small, and was even smaller when Bill built the first one.
I think they said in another video 40/year. 1 year wait list to have one built.
I mean, that’s cool and all, but $1.1 mil?!?! Damn… could build myself a hell of a house for that.
WoW 1.1 M for that ?! Totally insane and out of price ! 🤯
In my country (Portugal) you can buy *2* BIG luxury homes for the same price ! 🤣
It's all brilliant but I really liked the ladder up to the bunk. The way the steps pivot as the ladder is folded out is cool👍🏼
I'm impressed by the ask...$1.1M 🤣
This will be the absolute minimum vehicle to take the family to the lake and pick up supplies from Home Depot by 2030.
Right on! Hell by then they'll just send home depot shit to your house and take it out of your check. Even if you didn't want anything. 😂
For a million dollars I would probably go another direction!
@@theglitch99 For sure unless i hit the big game
Klaus shwab says ull own nothing n be happy so u not gonna own anything
Great vehicle for a person with part time pizza delivery gig.
I’d love to know what it actually costs to build. $1.1 mil you could buy a heluva offroad camper, house, razor, and still have money left over.
150k + truck is my guess. So their profit is around 850k once it sells lol
@@alphanation368 yeah - I'd put 100k-maybe 120k at max - no reason it should cost more than that. Should come with a year (or more)'s worth of free fuel too, just completely overpriced when you could buy an actual house (or better more expansive RVs) for a fraction of the cost. Just seems the 'more expensive the better' companies started making stuff like this. Reminds me of the DIY van people for ~15k, yet companies charging 10x or more for a similar product, just bonkers to me.
whatever the cost of the truck plus maybe 50k for the camper would be their cost. it is a complete rip off.
If any of you can produce it for these ridiculous numbers you are pulling out your a**, you can easily become multimillionaires. Why hasn't a competitor come along and taken all their business over the last 25 odd years if it would be so easy to do so? Surely your families could benefit from you guys getting out there and out competing ER?
Pretty nice. I used to prep the Ford chassis to mount the one piece camper on. I also did the machining and welding for eartheoamerat the time.
Future goal! Thanks for the tour.
1.1M?! Does it come with a $993k worth of Chevy stock shares?
I was getting ready to buy one of these over priced machines, then discovered the off road trailers that are a fraction of the price, bigger, and allow you to drop off your tiny house so you can use your truck separately.
You can get a off road Australian made "Bruder X" for about $200,000. Or an American made Xplore 195 or Xplore X22 for $150,000 and $90,000 respectively.
Or Roamer 1 or Roamer X for around $100,000 and up.
The off road trailers are much more practical. If you have engine problems, your tiny house needn't be stuck with your non-running truck. Or you can drop off your camper at a RV park and take the truck out separately.
Always love seeing the Earth Roamers in the parking lot off I-25
Met a couple in one last summer in Utah the truck is cool but there are so many better options to travel in an rv
Very much agree on that
I was looking at the older models and I said, “ for all that money and no washer and dryer “. I’m glad they have that option now. One thing I would do if I was them is make a matching Earth Roamer trailer that you can haul all your toys and gear in. I’m sure they could make a really awesome accompanying trailer if they wanted too.
Their Ford models were amazing. Nice to have one for the Chevy folks. Also at this price point I’m sure you could get a GMC front clip too as these are fully custom ordered. Nice job EarthRoamer crew!!! If I was rich enough to buy this, I would. Travel the World, Blog it, then sell it. Truly Luxury on wheels.
Glad to see a dry bath again for these. I haven’t seen that sense the early days of EarthRoamer. Meaning the Expedition Portal days. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@@HighRiderSonoma They really need to figure out how to get a dry bath in the LTi. even if they get rid of that couch that doesn't really look comfortable anyways and could also make the kitchen a little bigger with a dry bath and separate shower. They should at least try to make it an option, it would be a huge hit.
The prices of these things are ridiculous.....but seeing as how we live in an age where the average truck is well over $60k now.....its just sad. The manufacturers of so many things are just pricing people out. I see a lot of these going out of business in the next few years if the economy tanks.
That is a good business they have… spend $200k in parts and labor and get back $900k in profits
Yeah I as boutta say, are they the king of unaffordability
They have a payroll of 114 workers and only build a few a year. They have more than $200k in it.
@@JC-dr8ev if they sell it at $400k each ones trust me they will sell more than 5x of what they sell in a year
You're confusing mass production with handmade quality...
I'd say they earned their money building this, it's fit for a King
@@ironicallyvague1265 ok go ahead and buy one or 2
Great job guys! Great stuff!!!
That thing is incredible
Does itt come with $750,000 of cash ?
That doesn't sound tax friendly
Wow so cool. Can’t wait for when I can own this in 20+ years.
Love the ENTIRE BODY LINE-X coating! This will last for DECADES out in the field and wilds of North America AND BEYOND!
Waterproof, rustproof and ding/bump-resistant! It was GREAT IDEA by Earthroamer to do this coating for their trucks and campers.
If I had the money, I'd buy the F750 version which is BIGGER and ROOMIER so i can carry more gear out to the back-country lakes and rivers which are mostly wide-enough forest service roads which usualy have the really BIG and WIDE logging trucks on them so using those FSR roads will NOT be an issue for these combo-4x4-Camper-trucks!
V
Absolutely stunning! I wish I could buy one.
I could definitely live in that DOWN BY THE RIVER!
Classic.
BEAST!!!

Our ExpeditionVehicle is built on a 1996 Ford CF8000 commercial truck.
Our travel-weight across the scale -- 14,000#.
This includes 190-gallons (approx 720-liters/litres) of diesel, plus fresh water and chocolate for two weeks.
This thing is awesome but it’s so damn big and heavy how could you realistically take it anywhere truly remote? For this price you could get an amazing, comfy RV and a very nice Jeep to tow behind for getting into remote areas.
…and a vacation home.
I thought really nice RV's were like $100,000, have prices changed that much?
And some atvs
Andre loved the review! In the future, can you ask them what size holding tanks they have, fresh/grey/black. Also the house battery situation? We love to do a lot of dry camping and always curious about that stuff.
All that info is on their website.
that's ridiculously cool, I'd love to have that for the family, love it I want one :)
unattainable for most, but very impressive craftmanship to look at!
Aundre, at 02:04 you are looking at that front 4-link suspension; I have never seen it done this way before, hanging from the front...looks like it would be less harsh on impact?
Love it! But... it drives me crazy that EarthRoamer doesn't center the stargazer window above the over-cab bunk so that two people can lay there and look up at the night sky together without laying in a cock-eyed position!
This my favorite by far . ❤
The best life truck I see this model. 100% inteligent construction.
I love this, ice to see someone did the dry bathroom.
These guys should do a 6x4 chassis, with a good size battery bank / ev front drive, so 6x6, with generator and diesel motor.. battery bank for long offgrid / drive away in silence mode
That price though...you need to be part of the ruling class to own one. Better to build one out for a fraction of the price and it'll be a 1 of 1. Im not trying to take away from how awesome this thing is, it's just the price that kills it for most I'm sure.
@TBM,
Agreed.
2003, we engineered our ExpeditionVehicle for about five percent (5%) of this asking price.
Another benefit other than cost:
* reliability, durability, resilience.
Our rig has zero enormously complex components cobbled into enormously complex systems.
DAMN This is AWESOME!
These rigs are STUNNING !!! If you've ever seen one in person, you understand fully why the price tag. Incredible build! LOVE IT !!
Awesome!
Wow love this, wish was cheap
Great use of space.
Gorgeous
the pinacle of mobile living. this is the absolute best layout. there is nothing that it doesnt have.
C est magnifique. Impressionnant. Le reve . Oui un rêve hors de portée. Trop chère.
Nice rig but for half the price I would choose an Unimog which has more space and is more capable.
Exactly. A lot of the other European trucks also would be a lot better
Véhicule exceptionnel, j'aime le contraste entre l'extérieur d'aspect militaire et l'intérieur luxueux. Bravo aux concepteurs.
I really like the American camper. Looks amazing.
Compared to the previous versions the interior is much better. The old ones looked like a 70s caravan made of parts from a local hardware store. So big improvement there.
I like how you climb up that bed. I just want to see someone like me that’s 280 get down 😂😂😂😂😂
I bought a Sportsmobile with a 6.6L Duramax for $35,000 so I could put $70,000 in upgrades and still be at 10% the price of this vehicle. No comparison though in quality and features...I'm not going to lie, this rig is bad ass and sweet. 😃 If I were mega wealthy I would buy one. Would love to tour the factory.
Now that's very very nice 👌
The LTI is a great bush/bugout/rock crawler. The SX is a proper basecamp setup for BLM/National/State Park/Festival Concerts like Bonnaroo or Coachella.
THIS IS GOOD
Impressive attention to detail and luxury. One thing that still looks quite awkward to me is the final weight distribution between the front and rear axles (and the respective stress on the frame). The rear axle seems way heavier than the front. To make things worse, there is a horrific overhang on the rear end. It just looks wrong to mount such a massive camper on this American conventional cab-chassis platform (especially double cab). I've seen this type of super cool camper abroad mounted on European trucks such as Mercedes Benz, MAN, DAF, etc (all cabover-style trucks). The weight distribution on a cabover truck has to be massively superior. Additionally, this vehicle is quite long relative to the size of the camper. Fantastic camper, wrong chassis platform.
You have got it in one the weight distribution Cabover European truck vastly superior
It's a vacuum infused carbon fiber shell making it very light weight. It looks top heavy but it isn't. The lithium battery bank as well as gas and water tanks are evenly distributed at chassis level making it very stable.
It's WAY lighter than it looks. Like AT LEAST a ton lighter than if it was made in aluminum or fiberglass.
So Expensive buy a House and Lot to Settle and Lived... 😢😢😭😭🤔🤔🤔™️™️😔😔😔😏😏🍞🍞🍞
People that buy these have several homes already, lot cheaper than private jet or 80’ yacht for a toy. Why not a home that can go to remote off road places
Really good ,
Love it
I’m just here from the TikTok guy throwing shade. Lol this is insane so it’s a stock Chevy cab and chassis, stock drive train, a Kelderman air kit, and a bed camper, with a little bling here and there. I couldn’t have said this thing starts at a mil with a straight face. 85% pure profit right there 😂
There is a little cabinet by the over-cab bed just right of the ladder. It looks like a natural step to be used instead of pulling down the ladder?
Oh I would love to have the SX model but kinda torn bc the XTI I’m sure can get to many more places off road
Wonderful
Very nice 👍
I gained a whole new appreciation for ER when I saw a video of their factory and listened to the men and women who design and build these vehicles. These people are at the top of their game in terms of experience and dedication to quality. I used to think that ER's vehicles were too expensive, but after seeing a deep dive into the technical aspects of these vehicles, it is obvious they are good value despite the sticker price. For instance, who else does a carbon fibre shell? I would like to see is a build on an KW K370. Okay, heavier, but these vehicles aren't really meant for off-road rock climbing, they are 4x4 so that they can go where conventional RV's cannot. i.e soft ground, sand, mud or wherever the pavement ends - IMHO 🙂
Nice !
Very nice
The Jeaousy and Envy these vehicles produce on CZcams comments in astounding. You can easily spend over a mil Euro at Unicat and it won't be as beautiful as this.
Awesome
Might have to grab me one of these
I guess inflation hit this vehicle like a ton of gold bricks. There are ~2 year old videos on CZcams with titles staying in a $600,000 earthroamer. So this package has increased from about $600,000 just a couple of years ago to $1.1 million, really!
Why i need this..
wow table goes up table goes down
This guy is the best spokesperson for a brand I’ve ever seen, check the video with Jay Leno, he knows absolutely everything regarding Eartroamers
This is the best thing ever made in life.. no way!

I Rather this Floor Plan 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😍😍😍😍😍
Where were you guys at for Sema when they showed it off.
If anyone would pay that much for this they are out there mind and the people charging the ridiculous prices for these things are even more crazy
This is beautiful. Thanks Andre for the awesome review as always. Pricey yeah, but you get what you pay for. It’s always hilarious those that click the video and complain and complain… you know what you’re getting with an earth roamer… 😂 why bother to piss and moan? Anyways, if I had deep pockets I’d support the 114 craftsmen and their families and pick this beauty up without a second thought. Since I don’t it’s tent camping in my tundra 😂🤣
floorpan is just like a Fleetwood model ive seen. EXACTLY.
I want one!

Like that he said "True Alison transmission". For those that don't know, 2020 and newer Silverados HD 2500/3500 duramax's dont have Alison transmissions anymore, GM just got the rights to use the name
Proud craftsmen? I'd say very f'ing proud!
